  1. Let's not forget this gem: 2-3 stretch after that post, my bad!
  2. I think it falls under the rights for the public to know things blah blah blah, just the same as mugshots being released (don't have a problem with this) and 911 calls being released (which I do not like, but it's more on the media for playing them)
  3. I don't get it, I just don't Is it the BA when the ball is pitched in whatever area of the strikezone? is it BA when they swing at balls in that area? is it when they make contact???? I always yell at the TV and say "I don't know what you mean, I hate you!" whenever I see it
  4. I am in! And, not to taint the randomness, I will bring shirts for everyone in the group to wear *edit* I most likely only need 1, other people I know have "jobs", do these only come as a pair?
  5. Beer and liquor prices vary immensely from place to place We usually hit up the Gold Coast for our in room liquor needs, it's cheap cheap cheap (don't get shot)
  6. All of these titles have been fark worthy Outside of here I liked Tim Brown's headline on Yahoo! The Diamondbacks trade for Jon Rauch, the Astros pick up Randy Wolf for no good reason, and more names are discussed.
  7. Can Brantley still be the PTBNL for CC when he is on the DL? If he was agreed to before he got on the DL? (Jay Gibbons is taking his spot because he is going on the DL, and I know Cleveland was planning on waiting, but, yeah)
  8. City of Milwaukee reports 12% hispanic of roughly 575,000 County 11.4% of 940,000 ish This follows in line with Telemundo broadcasts, which must be doing well However, those numbers are probably low, based on inexact census taking, and the fact that a lot of illegal immigrants don't report due to a lot of INS raids shortly after the 1990 census in Milwaukee
  9. This is only half-serious, but, there shouldn't be ads with police sirens in them on the radio There are at least 2 on 1250, and each time I hear it while driving, a little panic sets in Maybe thats the 20+ times I have been pulled over, but, still, I don't like it
  10. There is a guy on the Sox name Scott Linebrink, pretty good, got a 2.37 ERA with a 32/6 K/BB ration I figure we will have to give up Jeffress, Braddock, and Frederickson to get him, but he's a lock to help!
  11. All knowing stat gurus, can you help me? I am looking for how much as a whole BA drops as a pinch hitter vs. being in the line up (i am assuming it has to) Look for a statement such as "As a whole, MLB players bat .___ better while in the line up vs. pinch hitting"
  12. I have always thought Marmol should be the closer, and I fear him more as a closer (despite recent troubles) I think they are both over worked though, and the rest will do Wood good *edit* Marmol 50 games Wood 44 games
  13. I have met and talked with Uecker on at least 4 occasions, and I don't want to say "split personality" but, 1 time he was a jerk, twice he was real cool, the other time just middle of the road, I also heard both extremes from other people who have met and talked to him I can't really tell my best Uecker story here, the cuss filter would blow up The general similarities in Uecker stories seem to be that he is "a jerk" when having to do something out of his way, or bothered when he is away from the park, on his own time As for the ball, I would be giving up an awesome thing, I would want something just as awesome back. I have a 20 pack, and go to 5-10 games on top of that, so the tickets really don't have the same worth to me as meeting the guy or getting a jersey (even if the $$$ value is the same). The people who made the deal, (which is fine for them) weren't crazy rabid Brewer fans, so the deal worked for them. I give the Crew huge props for giving anything to the guy the ball bounced off of, very classy.
  14. I tried to call myself a media "person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain" rhymes with snore just wondering if the word was abused and landed in the filter, or what, i had to use "shill" instead, but i like the other phrase better
  15. That would make me lean towards Arizona then Internet research finds "...The Los Angeles Times reported earlier this week that the 2010 All-Star Game is expected to be awarded to the Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim and the 2012 Game is likely headed to Kansas City. And the wild card - a USA Today report the 2011 or 2013 All-Star Game would be awarded to the New York Mets and their new Flushing stadium." (the article is year old though) and "... Selig attended the Diamondbacks' home-opener against the Cincinnati Reds and spoke about the possibility of Phoenix hosting an All-Star game in the near future. Selig said there was a "good chance" Chase Field could host the event in 2011, which is the earliest Phoenix could hold the event." some Arizona page
  16. I am sure he did, but the common bug floating around seems to be about 24-36 hours of hardcore flu, then you are fine Myself and quite a few others got hit with it
  17. Lincecum is listed as probable for Sunday on the Giants "Probable Pitchers" list, not too surprised
  18. that is not a bad plan at all, i might just do that what does a patch run? who is going to sew it for me?!?!
  19. It has to be NL, but Minneapolis in 2012 isn't a bad guess *edit* doesn't it have to be NL? How did SF and Pittsburgh go back to back?
  20. I was part of a group in the Benz Field Haus at last Sunday's game The Sabathia home run ball bounced off the chest of a guy in our group, and was then recovered by another member of our group The Milwaukee Brewers offered the following to get the ball back, A Sabathia sign ball, and 4 tickets to a future game, don't know how good of seats. Each person got this, the guy who got it, and the gut it bounced off of. I think it's cool that the Brewers gave something to the guy it bounced off of, but personally I would have held out for more. I would at least want to meet Sabathia, and get a signed jersey, but thats just me. A friend of a friend got the 5th home run ball from April 22, 2006 (5 HR inning) and I know he never reached a deal with the team (at least in the first month or two after, I know the team got balls 1-4 back)
  21. 2009 St. Louis 2010 Anaheim 2011 Would New York (Mets new park) be a safe bet? When do they normally announce such things?
  22. welcome to the forum/board After further review, I have decided against the jersey purchase It is a pull over, I want a button down, so I can wear/show off t shirts at the same time as wearing the jersey The ones at Kohl's don't happen to be button down are they?
  23. So.... for the first time in my life I have decided to commit to a player jersey, I have chosen the Braun all-star I figure to get a good healthy run of wearing it, much more than a Quevedo jersey anyway, and it has an awesome color combo Question is, will the price drop after the all-star break? The stadium is sold out, I figure they will restock? I can get it from MLB.com and get a free hat too, but, since they dont ask about hat size, it doesn't sound too quality edit- considered waiting till next year, but 09 is looking like a red jersey, couldn't bring myself to wear a red Braun jersey
