  1. I loved watching his highlights. I miss a diversity of hitters in the big leagues. That Juan Pierre reference was right on.

  3. So sorry. Yes I meant Weston. Rodriguez is the hitter.
  4. 1. E. small 2. B. turang 3. M. Feliciano 4. A. Uribe 5. J. Wiemer 6. G. Mitchell 7. S. Frelick 8. F. Valerio 9. T. Lutz 10. F. Zamora 11. w. White 12. c. Andrews 13. A. Kelly 14. T. Black 15. C. Rodriguez 16. t. Shook 17. j. Gray 18. N. Walters 19. V. Castaneda 20. H. Chirino
  5. I really hoped that Keston had beat out Tellez, but alas a true competition never materialized. Can’t touch that Rowdy! I pull harder for Huira more than any other Brewer because I’d like to think that the Brewer organization could actually develop hitters, but double alas, it’s not to be. Hopefully Cain will come around and we’ll have that one Brewer farmhand that turned out okay. And as Mitchell and Frelick struggle I’m putting all my eggs in the Joey basket. Here’s hoping.
  6. Surprised by the Brosseau move, but I’m starting to get a bad feeling about Rowdy. Are the Brewers seeing something they’re not enamored of in Tellez?
  7. I do not know about about civil suits as I’m not an expert in anyway, but I am well versed on private employer contractual stipulations concerning character, behavior, et al, and these are all too often abused by employers in order to get rid of inconvenient people who have inconvenient ideas. These kind of stipulations are more times than not devices that simply are used to threaten and make people kowtow to the boss. I’m more than happy to comment on countless individual cases.
  8. Okay, let me start by saying that I think Trevor Bauer is a first class jerk. Emotionally, I’m pleased that his punishment was severe. However, I’m also somewhat uncomfortable with this brand of justice when he’s been legally absolved. I do consider him a questionably ethical person, but should my opinion about an unproven accusation be a reason to cost someone their job. A further complication comes when we consider the history of such accusations when it comes to celebrities. Many times celebrities are trapped by those looking to make a buck, and yet it’s just as true that often celebrities think they can take advantage of those who are attracted to them. Furthermore, and more than just a little obvious, is that none of us were there. None of us were privy to testimony and material evidence. This makes us less than qualified to pass judgement. But most of all, we are naturally prone to draw conclusions on limited information. I’m as guilty as anyone of this, and so we (I) too often make judgement on people’s personalities and since Trevor Bauer lacks a compelling set of personality traits we (I) are prone to hate on him and wish him the worst. This natural propensity stands in direct opposition to the rule of law and so can be dangerous if we (I) get it wrong.
  9. I am old. I know how to turn a computer on and nothing else. The ads don’t bother me at all. I just don’t get it? Seriously, I don’t understand. I’m not trying to troll or cause problems. The site is easy and readable, and the people who post are interesting.
  10. I’d definitely trade one of the big two if it meant getting a controllable young hitter back. The Brewers are so unbalanced that when it comes playoff time I think they’ll struggle against teams who have two ways of winning instead of one. In addition I don’t see anything in the minors to truly help in the short term. Now if Yeli and Huira came around I’d never consider trading either pitcher; unfortunately that seems like too big of an ask.
  11. Since all universes that can exist do exist we are trapped in a contradiction that saps our experience of meaning. Good Yeli/Bad Yeli is what Schro’s cat rides into oblivion. Great, and all I wanted was a simple .290, 25 hrs and 100 rbis for the next 6/7 years. Instead we’ve got a Twilight Zone episode on an infinite loop.

  15. This is a great site with great articles. The whole freaking world needs to visit everyday. Only then will there be true happiness.
  16. I love me some Brewers. I think they’re going to win the division. They are the most boring team in the majors offensively. I also think they’ll be okay at 3B. Not sure about SS or 2B. I can’t see the offense in the outfield getting appreciatively better. Taylor might be our best CF.
  17. As a fan I can’t say that I’m not worried about the outfield situation. But all of us knew that Cain’s last year might look ugly, and all of us are hoping for the return of Yeli, and that Hunter has never been anything but himself, and that maybe Taylor might be our second best outfielder. And geez, if I keep thinking about it I just know I won’t sleep that well tonight. Come on Sal! Go Garret! Keep exploding Joey! *patience sucks
  18. I just love this follow up. Makes me realize how much I don’t know. And now? I can’t wait to see what they get for Houser or Lauer—could it be another young bat that struggles early and then in a year two makes everyone forget how we (I) grumbled about “that trade.” Good on you Mr. Stearns et al.
  19. I’d be a little sad to see Keston or Brousseau go down. I don’t want to see a pitcher go down under any circumstances. I want to send Jace down, but that’s just not practical. So it must be Huira. I can’t see a pitcher going down because of the DH. They’re going to need more batters covered.
  20. In general, I don’t really care if the pitch clock comes. PersonalIy, I love spending as much time as I can at the park, but understand that most don’t. However I think we need to keep track of pitcher injuries. I read somewhere (I realize this isn’t helpful or convincing) that the time between pitches is recovery time and helpful in preventing injury. Pitching clock? Okay, but let’s collect the relevant data and cross our fingers.
  21. 1. 154 game schedule, mandatory Sunday doubleheaders for a single game price. No everyday player can participate in more than 120 games per year: all rosters are set at 32 players 2. no DH anywhere, any league, college, sandlot, nothing 3. players receive 60% of gross revenues, player union decides all salaries and all rosters and all roster moves 4. the other 40% of gross revenues goes to owners, all monies everywhere are pooled and distributed evenly based on this 60/40 formula 5. all minor league teams must provide air conditioned dorm style living quarters and healthy meal programs free of charge, all minor leaguers must be paid a living wage 6. running is the key excitement in nearly every sport, anything that discourages running (BBs, HRs, Ks) must be minimized. The triple is a more thrilling play than the dinger. 7. no public money in any sport for any reason, build it and they will come 8. all building projects must be funded based on the 60/40 formula
  22. I get it, but less enthusiastic about this acquisition. Wonder what Feliciano is thinking. Is Jackson an upgrade on Sullivan or a lateral move?
  23. I like this pick up. Cost them very little. I think I saw one service had Howell rated as our 29th best prospect with a pretty bad strikeout rate. Versatile yes, but plenty of other prospects are ahead of him. I think the Brewers might just release Severino after his return. Too bad I thought he had a great camp.
  24. I can’t see anyone being over .500 in the NL Central with the possible exception of the Crew. Brewers 29-31 Cards 27-33 Cubs 27-33 Reds 24-36 Pirates 24-36 But then again, I really don’t think they’ll get any more than 40 games in. I really wish they’d just call it off.
