  1. It didn't say in the blog post. Said he appeared to be fine...it was Barry Zito pitching so it couldn't have been too hard http://brewersbeat.mlblogs.com/2012/03/10/morgan-beaned-exits-game-as-precaution/
  2. Nyjer got beaned in the head in the 1st and was removed as a precaution shortly thereafter
  3. Seeing Dale being interviewed at Maryvale in a cubs uniform makes me sick. I miss him already. I firmly believe he'd still be our manager today had we given him his shot instead of hiring the feisty ken macha
  4. FWIW I was watching the twins/pirates game and McGehee just made back to back seriously ridiculous plays at 3rd and then led off the bottom half of that inning with a double. He's definitely lost weight and looks a lot more nimble.
  5. Gorman, I've had 2 separate Charter techs tell me the stuff from Speedtest works well. They use it when someone upgrades to the 100mb service and they don't get the 100mb. After running the IP Optimizer, they say they do get the 100mb. Thanks for the info Nottso. Anyone have any other first hand knowledge from using the Tune Up offered on the speedtest.net site?
  6. I have to say I have been pretty disappointed in the Peanuts and Cracker Jack blog so far this year. I really appreciate the ASU students covering the Crew, but most of the blog posts have been pretty poorly written this year and I really miss the live game blogs from last year where the bloggers interacted with the readers. Maybe they set the bar too high last year?
  7. It turns out that the chicken was just sitting around for a couple days, though, so it's totally fine to eat. Yeah, at room temp. What, is that a problem?
  8. Braun says "real story" has not been told, but declines to elaborate... http://m.jsonline.com/more/sports/blogs/brewers/142007943.htm?ua=android&dc=smart
  9. Has anyone ever tried the the "Maximize your PC performance with Tune up" on the speedtest.net site??
  10. He does the games covered by WTMJ with Ueck, although I believe he will be teaming up with Rock and BA on some webcasts as well.
  11. For those not listening, Gamel hit a solo no doubter jack to right and Braun hit a 2 run laser off the top of the batter's eye. Also, BA said Gamel apologized for his in game interview the other day. Gamel said he heard himself talking on the head set and thought he sounded so dumb that he didn't want to talk anymore. Thought that was pretty funny
  12. Out of all the games I've been to anyhwhere, hands down the most confrontational fans I have ever encountered are Twins fans at MP. Maybe not so much now that we are the more successful team for the time being, but in years past they would travel to Milwaukee pretty well and acted like they owned the place. I was at Target Field last July (2nd) when we staged a huge comeback vs the Twins and I was pretty pumped up about it and had zero issues there. At MP, different story
  13. Hopefully its just a spring training thing to get him a few innings out there in case of an emergency because RRR said not more than a few days ago that he wasn't going to mess around with having "Gomey" play RF too much because he is an elite defender in CF.
  14. Just ordered the Roku 2 XD. Currently $10 off with free shipping at the link Casey provided for anyone that May be interested
  15. Just curious, did you use a Roku?
  16. Thanks again for the help. This will be my first endeavor into streaming internet onto my tv
  17. Thanks for the help/info Casey. I should've mentioned that I own zero Apple products. I think I'm going to give the Roku a shot. Do they make different models also? What's a typical price of a Roku?
  18. I'm trying to decide between an Apple TV and a Roku (or some other device I may have not even considered yet) mainly for streaming my mlb.tv premium onto my tv. Any thoughts?
  19. Valid points. Fortunately, Gamel looks like a different person in pictures from last year to pictures from this year shape-wise
  20. Ok here goes... First off, I loved NOLA and the time I had there was not nearly enough. I can't wait to go back. Just so much to do and see (and eat!) and so much culture and history. I have a lot of recommendations on my list from this thread that I never got around to trying so I look forward to going back and crossing those off my list. Here is a quick run down on places visited (mostly restaurants ) and a few thoughts on each... -Domenica: really good pizza with an awesome crust. very cool vibe in there and I could have watched the guy preparing the charcuterie and cheese plates at work all day. Also had a piece of the King Cake made by the pastry chef there that was amazing. Happy hour (3-6 weekdays) brings half price pizzas, beer, wine and well drinks. -Port of Call: great burger (one of the best I've had) and a really good bloody mary too - they put pickled green beans in their bloodys down there. Central Grocery: birth place of the muffaletta sandwich. Tremendous. Bunch of Italian meats (capicola, salami, pepperoni, ham) and cheeses (provolone, emmentaler) topped with a marinated olive spread on a round, sort of flattened seeded bread (not unlike focaccia). Got it to go and ate it down by the mighty Mississippi. Cafe du Monde: beignets obviously. went there twice. just do it Cochon Butcher: great sandwiches. I had the cubano and the wife had the pulled pork. both very good. I was a little surprised that when I tried to order the cubano minus the mustard they said it came with it already on it. just seemed weird because nothing seemed pre-made there. maybe the pork was cooked in it? the pancetta mac n cheese was really good too. cool but small place Red Fish Grill: best meal of the trip. everything was great from start to finish, including the service. highly recommend. great seafood. Coop's Place: probably the biggest disappointment of the trip. it wasn't terrible, but the food was just not nearly as good as I expected. I had the taste plate (cup of seafood gumbo, shrimp creole, red beans and rice with sausage, rabbit and chicken jambalaya, and a fried chicken drumstick). the gumbo, shrimp creole, and red beans/rice were all fine to good. the jambalaya had a really off taste that I still haven't quite figured out. just a very strange taste (the rabbit maybe) and I typically love jambalaya. all of it was kind of luke warm too. my wife ordered the fried chicken plate and it was rather dry and not hot. all of our food (except the gumbo, that arrived first) came out together and it took 10 minutes tops which makes me think the fried chicken had been made ahead of time and was sitting because that was how it tasted. most good fried chicken places will tell you to allow 20-25 minutes of fry time. maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but it was definitely not as good as I hoped. I think that's it for food haha. We rode the St. Charles street car from end to end and that was great just to see other parts of the city (especially the garden district) that we otherwise would probably have seen. An additional treat was seeing all of the decorations going up for Mardi Gras. Its like Christmas to the city. Just a neat and cheap experience that I would definitely recommend. Took and horse drawn carriage tour through the French Quarter and that was cool in that our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned a lot from him that I otherwise would have missed out on. Did a dinner river cruise (wife's work obligation) on the Steamboat Natchez. Another cool experience. It was at night so getting away from the city a bit offered a great view of the night skyline. I also really enjoyed going down into the steam room where you can see how everything works to power the boat. good jazz band aboard the boat too. Other than that I really just walked around the French Quarter a lot during the day (avoiding Bourbon St as much as possible) and checked out that area of the city (Jackson Square, French Market, etc.) Really wanted to get to the WWII museum and aquarium, but ran out of time due to some obligations for my wife's conference and it just being a rather short trip. Can't wait to visit NOLA again! Let me know if you have any questions about the trip.
  21. You might want to read these articles...Gamel admits he was out of shape and that it probably contributed to his injury(s): http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/gamel-gets-in-shape-for-shot-at-first-jq49ljt-139930243.html http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120222&content_id=26806818&vkey=news_mil&c_id=mil
