  1. To me thats bad news. We have had some good swings and hard hit balls off him and historically have good numbers off him. Hope we see him for 2 more innings.
  2. This is getting really frustrating. Its one thing if Rickie swings at a good pitch there or smokes one right at someone, but that was a pitch he could do nothing with
  3. Man I hope Mikey is ok. That looked like it hurt. I really thought Braun was going to throw Bixler out
  4. Great job Corey - really wanted to get Braunie an AB here! Lets go Ryan - do some more damage with your bat!
  5. Send Rickie here. I think we are going to score some runs again tonight!
  6. Gee Dave, thanks for throwing a near no hitter for us last time out. We are going to repay you by playing defense like a bunch of tee ballers tonight
  7. Wow - this is bad to quite bad. Way to help out Dave guys
  8. I go with the 16 oz. plastic Miller Lite bottles or occasionally some Miller High Life. I'm going to the game tomorrow and one of my buddies that I'm going with is Michelob Golden Draft Light fiend, but he knows enough to leave it at home. And not just because it is Miller Park, but because it is Milwaukee. If you are tailgatin with me, it better be a Miller product, a WI microbrew/craft, or some Leinie's
  9. Im in EC and getting the game on 652 and 736 on DirecTV
  10. I am really hoping those of us that have DirecTv and are outside of the Milwaukee area will get the game on ch 652. Once the Bucks conflict is over the games usually get picked up somehow. I will be very unhappy if this is not the case!
  11. I agree areacodes that the hitters maturing has as much to do with it as anything. I just get the sense that these guys can relate a lot more to Sveum that Skaalen and he has a way of getting through to them. And right or wrong, I don't think it is a stretch to think that Sveum probably didn't get to have a lot of say with the hitters unless particular players specifically searched out advice from Sveum or Skaalen went to Sveum for help. Otherwise I think you stick to your coaching title for the most part
  12. Sure would have been nice for him to open his mouth over the past 3 years then if that was all it took... I can't figure out why he didn't do it sooner. The idea of not wanting to step all over Ski's toes might have had something to do with that
  13. If you are going to give up on our RP off of a couple weak line drives then I agree, but he did not pitch that bad at all this time around. He hasn't been fantastic at all but he was hardly terrible either. Where did I say I was giving up on Villanueva or call him terrible?? I just said he doesn't look good right now. Is that really a stretch? 10.2 IP, 12 H, 9 R, 8 ER, 6 BB, WHIP 1.69 OBA .388. 6.75 ERA I don't think those are the numbers any of us were hoping for from Villa. He has plenty of time to turn it around, but right now I don't trust him in big spots and he hasn't impressed me. And I don't consider a 2 RBI double down the line that one or 2 hops the fence a weak line drive. Especially on an 0-2 pitch
  14. My love for Cam is pretty apparent. The guy just brings it and his approach at the plate so far this year has been phenomenal. I could watch that dude shag fungos in CF for hours. I was dreadful of the thought of trading him and SO glad they didn't. He helps out the pitchers a ton. Go Boogie!
  15. Kind of interesting that it goes from MCL, to concern it was the ACL, to it being revealed from the MRI that it is the PCL. If they thought it might be the ACL that would explain why they were talking season ending. MCL tears primarily don't require surgery as it receives plenty of blood flow and heals fairly quickly on its own. PCL injuries can be a little more tricky and sometimes require surgery when severe. So basically it order of most severe to least it would be ACL>PCL>MCL
  16. What are you guys talking about? The hitting coach has absolutely no effect what so ever. Zero. Dale Sveum deserves no credit. I don't even know why they employ hitting coaches
  17. One big negative I took from tonight is that Villanueva has shown me nothing that leads me to believe that he can consistently get people out right now. He just doesn't look right. Other than that, fun to watch. Be interesting to see if there is any fallout from the Braun plunking. I hope so because that was as blatant as it gets and is just sour grapes on the Pirates part because we keep whoopin their butts
  18. And by this I presume you mean that you are hoping for a blowout tomorrow? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Precisely my friendhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Or another near no-no from the Beard
  19. We were just talking about that in the IGT chat. I like it that he said that. I dig rivalries
  20. When you listen to Rickie talk, you can sort of understand some of the problems he has had over the years defensively. Its like everything in his body wants to come out a little too fast and he has to find a way to slow it down a bit and try to harness it
  21. Save or no save, that was pretty dang cool! Hope I get to see his first save as a Brewer when I am there Wednesday!!
  22. That was a pretty easy walk, but I will take any walk out of Hardy right now. I don't even want to look and see what his OBP is
