  1. I manage a team of young professionals who are all mid-early 20's, first to third job out of undergrad. One of the very important things for leading people with little professional experience is to set them up for success and give them confidence. Sometimes that involves avoiding putting them in difficult positions initially. Throwing them to the wolves right away can sink their confidence, and once that is gone, it takes a long time to get it back.
  2. Just like an ice cream cone. The 2nd and third scoops are the same as the first... but it's three scoops of ice cream.
  3. Anyone have any posts from last Thursday's or Saturday's IGT that they want to revisit?
  4. Pay-per-view didn't sell advertising spots
  5. Hopefully blockchain will soon take care of that.
  6. You apparently haven't read the rest of this game thread... or any of the ones last year.
  7. Gard mentioned that they were looking at players in the portal, so he had to know that some guys were leaving. Jordan Davis is the first. I find it funny that some are clamoring for Andrew Rohde and wanted Davis gone. Rohde shot 32% from 3 in the Summit League. Jordan Davis shot 31% from 3 in the Big Ten.
  8. Burnes line almost identical to opening day last year.
  9. I'm surprised this is in the Packers 2023 thread. 🙂
  10. Just a reminder, Chryst was fired much more for his off-the-field performance than his on-the-field performance. He had many clauses in his contract and other parts of his job that he either half-assed or just flat refused to do. A down season is tolerated when everything else is in place; it's a straw that breaks the camel's back when everything else is not in place.
  11. North Texas has one of the best defenses in the nation for a reason. C-USA is 16-1 in the post-season. Actually, literally the best in the nation - #1 in points against at 55.7/game.
  12. Depends on that that 2025 protection is. Yeah, we'll give you a 5th round pick if he doesn't play, sure. Maybe even a 3rd because we can't draft in the 3rd round to save our arse. Anything more than a 3rd is a no-go.
  13. They agreed to terms with Hiura on January 13th. They didn't sign Voit until February 21st, Brian Anderson on January 17th. If the Brewers don't sign either of those guys, does Hiura make the team?
  14. Mods - maybe split off a Rodgers thread from the Packers thread? According to PFF, the Packers are projected (barring any league-wide roster changes) to have the 2nd best pass protecting OL in the NFL next season behind only Philadelphia. The Packers lowest ranked starter is Zach Tom at RT, and he is at the 74th percentile at RT. Everyone except Nijman is under contract through at least 2024. This is why I don't expect the Packers to draft an OL on day 1 or 2. The Bears best pass-blocking OL is at a lower percentile than the worst Packers starting OL.
  15. Nice comeback the last five minutes. The way their season has gone I was totally expecting Oregon to make that last-second heave. That was their toughest game left. Time to go to NYC and with the whole damn thing.
  16. No, you talk trash here in this thread: No one had taken any type of a shot at Marquette before that comment. Who's the one talking trash? I root for Marquette. They're my #1-B. But you started it by talking trash on the Badgers before anyone said anything about Marquette. When you talk trash, you have to eat some.
  17. What concerns me about him is that he was only 32% from 3-point on a below-average strength of schedule.
  18. Did he coach circles around Shaka Smart? (Couldn't resist...)
  19. And your Wisconsin Badgers are women's National Champions!!! First time all season that #1 Ohio State has been shut out!
  20. 'zactly. Lamar Jackson will cost 1) a lot more in draft capital, and B) a lot more in guaranteed money than Rodgers. Yes, Rodgers options are expensive. Jackson will get a lot more than that in guaranteed money. And then if he starts stinking like Russell Wilson, they're stuck with him (and his cap allocation) for a long time.
  21. And all those stimulus checks that I didn't get, too.
  22. Illinois with another disappointing season. With all of the talent they've had there they've done nothing with it. This year 20-13 and out in the first round. Last year a #4 and out in the 2nd round. Year before a #1 and out in the 2nd round.
  23. Not only returning four starters, but also having a player of the year candidate and also picking up a 6'10" player in the transfer portal who averaged 10 ppg and 6 rpg for them this season. It's almost like... recruiting and getting bigs from the transfer portal isn't the key to success.
  24. More like UW basketball - one disappointing season/three week stretch/tournament and half the fan base wants to move on to the next guy.
