    Love to see that he's hitting the ball well again. Saw a tweet a few days ago from a former player who is now on one of the networks (MLB, Fox, etc.) who said (paraphrasing), "Baseball is a sport that is really hard to be great at every single day." It's funny how big a small sample can be in baseball.

    And he didn't even get an MVP vote that year. Five players had over 140 RBIs. Two more had over 130 RBIs. 17 players had 40 or more HRs. Hell, the player who led the league in hits (gold star if you can name him without looking) didn't get one single MVP vote that year.

    Lara has made a few great catches in the OF, but he also has almost run into another OF a couple of times and had to make a leaping catch once because he lost the ball and/or took a poor route. That lack of experience could really hurt the Brewers if it occurs in the wrong situation. I also think that Lockridge is better on the bases right now. I'm not saying that Lara won't be better eventually, I'm just saying that right now the experience that Frelick and Lockridge have outweighs the long-term upside that Lara has. Give Lara more regular PT at AAA for 2 weeks, then bring him back up as the 14th position player.

    Ball wasn't hit hard, and Bauers fielded it pretty far from the bag. With the lefty up, Turang should have been playing closer to 1B and I think could have gotten it. Bauers should have let Turang field it and went to the bag. Have to know where the guy next to you is positioned. The thing is, not one of the runs that scored yesterday earned their way on base: 1st run - walk 2nd run - walk 3rd run - extra innings automatic baserunner 4th run - HBP

    True, but I think the Player's Union cares more about the right of members to earn a major league paycheck than what teams do.

    Maybe it's not a bad thing that he elected free agency. If they outright/option him, my understanding is that they would then have to wait the required 15 days to recall him to the major league roster. But if he elects free agency, they can resign him to the major league roster at any time. The risk, obviously, is that someone else can sign him to their major league roster. Correct me if I'm misunderstanding the rules around that.
