    I've been sitting ~25% cash since late September. Put 2/3rds of that back in late yesterday.

    It's not like the league has a practice squad of officials to call up and replace them. They just don't want them to be the face of the league on a national stage or be the topic of discussion and distract from the game.

    Looking at B-R.com's positional rankings: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/team_compare.cgi?lg=MLB&year=2026 The Brewers were 6th in wins above average at 1B. Plenty of teams can upgrade there. And, for as bad as Yelich was, the Brewers were 22nd at DH. Padres, Angels, Blue Jays, and Mets were worse. Quite a few teams can improve on DH if they already have a 1B. And he can play OF in a pinch. Bauers had a .863 OPS vs RHP this past season, and a .901 OPS vs LHP. It's really hard to find that balance; part of his value is that you don't have to platoon or PH for him. I think 3/$50M is a good number, maybe up to 3/$60M because of his ability to play multiple positions and not need to platoon or PH.

    Eichorst has shown that he's not afraid to make a change at that point (but it sounds like Pellini's firing had a large part to do with how he treated athletic department staff and others and not just W/L record, and was probably pressured by boosters too). Will depend on the athletic department's finances and projections on paying out ~$350K/mo until 2032 I would not be at all surprised if his fate is tied to their performance against Minnesota. Yes, New Mexico is currently ranked, but their strength of schedule is ranked between 114th and 134th out of 138 teams depending on source. ESPN's Football Power Index has an overall Power Index of 46th, by far the lowest of the ranked teams. FWIW, ESPN has UW's overall Power Index at 39th. And their QB play doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me that it will improve under him. To me, Eck winning at New Mexico has a lot of "Fickell winning at Cincinnati" vibes.

    They can get an estimate of how many unique cell phone signals are in the area. Factoring in young children, about 90% of people are carrying one, so divide the number of unique signals by 0.9. (With an AG waiver, law enforcement can triangulate any unique cell phone signal to a 50' radius area.) They can also get an estimate of how many people are in a particular area by using 1 person per 2 square feet and estimate the number of square feet. For a one mile route, if people are stacked 30' deep on each side of the street, that's over 150K right there.

    UW dominates USC last week. USC handily beats Ohio State this week. UW craps the bed against Iowa this week. (Note - Indiana's starting QB Hoover got knocked out of the game and didn't play the 2nd half. Backup QBs struggle.) I don't know what to make of this season (insert Airplane Johnny GIF).

    It's amazing how they got those buses and trucks wrapped so quickly. I'm guessing that MLB handles that in advance, particularly the open-top tourist buses. I don't know that there's that many in the Milwaukee area ready to go.

    It's the latter part that is the key. Knowing how to build an organization. Bringing in the right people - not necessarily "talent" (assuming you are referring to on-field talent), but people who fit the organizational culture. Culture is so important - making sure that everyone is on the same page. He also identified how they can win - corporate strategy. Can't compete with free agent acquisition, but what can you do with less money than a top free agent commands? Build an analytics-based pitching lab. Build a Latin American academy that not only develops on-field talent but also builds the off-field skills in order to be able to successfully live in another country and ensure that those players aren't going to struggle socially after they get to the US. Hedge bets with pre-major-league talent that at least has a defensive floor to warrant the investment. That's all corporate strategy - figuring out where and how you can compete when others have more resources than you.

    He's been with the team in the dugout for at least the past two months. I've seen him regularly in the dugout pre-playoffs.

    My brother-in-law is friends with a 21-year-old savant. (Think Rainman.) He does things with numbers that I don't even understand. Before the game he texted this to my brother-in-law: "It has been 16,079 days since the Milwaukee Brewers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7 of the 1982 World Series on October 20th, 1982. Misiorowski = 160 Champion = 79 160 79 Let's go Brewers!"
