  1. Get through the bottom of their order I like our chances.
  2. Boy both teams have left a lot of runs out there. Time to get one here. The big boys are coming up for the Cards in the top of the 9th
  3. I cant stand Theriot or the Cardinals. I fear a bloop single
  4. It looks like KRod is getting squeezed according to Gameday
  5. He deserved a little luck to get a hit after a great at bat like that. Nice job Casey. Be the hero again Yuni!
  6. That has to be one of the dumbest retaliation bean balls. Pujols was obviously an unintentional beaning. The game was close and there were two runners on and Holliday and Berkman were up next. Come on.
  7. That is classy...seriously hard to make it look more intentional than that. At least Motte was tricky and threw the first one outside
  8. If we can guarantee Braun not breaking a bone I am up for them retaliating. It would be nice starting with a runner on first
  9. Never been more happy to get out of an inning with just a run
  10. Maybe going to Saito last inning wouldnt have been a great decision
  11. Yeah the Pirates seem to be struggling a little right now. Down 8-2 to the Cubs in the 3rd
  12. Pretty easy this month Peralta is a clear choic Taylor Green is the choice as well but Schafer has been very impressive. Both those guys could be having an impact on the big league club next year, although Schafer is a little blocked in CF right now
  13. No one is catching the Phillies. That team was almost uncatchable before getting Pence and they will get Oswalt back soon. The Giants on the other hand can be caught. Their hitting is bad which puts a ton of pressure on that staff. Voglesong has been pitching out of his mind and if he comes back to earth that rotation may not be dominant enough with Zito hurt and Sanchez just getting back from injury. Getting a series at home against the Braves most likely would be great. They have a very good rotation but their bats have struggled as well. Let the Giants and Phillies beat up on each other and then get the winner. Obviously, we have to make the playoffs first which definitely not a given but it is fun to speculate
  14. Cincy loses as well! Now if Arizona can beat the Giants
  15. Casey has hit the ball hard a few times tonight. Little victories
  16. It is nice to watch another teams defense look terrible
  17. Why waste a good pinch hitter when there are two outs and no one is on base
  18. Okay we bash Yuni all the time for his defense but that was an amazing turn!
  19. That is one of those tough plays a quicker 3b makes
  20. I dont really care who we play in the first round, but I really care where we play them. A home playoff series would be huge for this team and for the fan base. It would be great to see the atmosphere at Miller Park. The atmosphere at Game 3 versus the Phillies was good but seemed tempered by being down 2-0
  21. I think the pitching is key. Now that Greinke has turned it around - or at least his ERA is starting to match his other stats - and Gallardo has settled in more our rotation looks really good. K-Rod has shored up our bullpen a ton. If our starters get 7 I feel great. If they get 6 I still feel good with Saito and Hawkins. I am sure our starters are going to have some bad games coming down the stretch and Axe may actually blow a save here and there but I love feeling like a bad start is a surprise as opposed to past years where a good start surprised me. I really hope Rickie can make it back closer to 4 or 5 weeks. Down the stretch I like that lineup a lot more. I know Yuni and Casey are not good but we actually have a catcher who can hit now, 2 MVP candidates, another all-star, Hart who has been pretty good overall, Morgan, and then Lopez and Hairston on the bench. I think our rotation is easily the best in the Central. I would take our top three over Jackson, Carpenter and Garcia. Our fielding is what scares me, but I really like having a pitching staff that can win games.
  22. Skipping Narveson would also give us a lefty in the bullpen. I havent looked up his splits against lefties but if they are good that would be nice to have
  23. It reminds me of Packer fans who were bashing Ted Thompson for not picking up Marshawn Lynch when the Packers were already in the playoffs and on a run to the Super Bowl. having a opinions and disagreeing with moves is fine but take time to enjoy the ride as well and that is what it seems like this board is lacking to me. I dont like Yuni at all as a player and as much as I like Counsell the guy he brings nothing but at the same time I am really enjoying this season.
  24. And he is not a free agent after this year. Leading up to the deadline I read numerous places that the Padres were asking more for Adams.
  25. I am just wondering why you think Fielder stands out more than Braun. Braun has a higher OPS, gets stolen bases and even though he is not a great fielder is still better than Fielder. Braun has missed some time with injury so Fielder has the edge on him there. Both are great choices I was just wondering your reasoning for Fielder standing out more
