  1. Because Gamel was great when he was up earlier this year
  2. Their "big" acquisitions have not been that good so far. Jackson is 2-1 with an ERA of 4.62, a WHIP of 1.7, opponents are hitting .347 against him and he has just 16 K's in 25 innings. That is inflated by the Brewers game but his last two starts he has gone just 6 innings and then 5.1 innings while giving up a fair amount of hits and walks. His ERA could be much higher Dotel has been pretty solid but has not pitched much since the loss against us Patterson is terrible. His OPS is .435 Marc Rzepczynski has decent numbers but Larussa would rather use Arthur Rhodes for some reason Furcal's OBP is .278 since the trade. Not good for a guy whose job is to be on base for Pujols, Holliday and Berkman So they went all in but no one has produced and the two relievers who have been okay are rarely being used
  3. How good has the pitching been lately? "The Brewers' pitching staff has posted a 2.21 ERA since July 26, with the team going 18-2 over that span. The bullpen has not allowed an inherited runner to score over that stretch." That is insane.
  4. I read over on their board where they thought it might be middle of the pack. They will likely get a ton of picks after this year. I think they have something like 7 Type A or B free agents, but that is just what I read on their board. Berkman is also a free agent after this year so he will get a nice raise. Oddly enough he is only a Type B right now.
  5. 18 of 20 now. 8 in row, then a loss, 5 in a row, then a loss, 5 in a row right now
  6. They have an 8 game winning streak, lost one, a 5 game winning streak, lost one, and now a 5 game winning streak. They have now won 18 of 20!
  7. We might be the only two! I had complete faith we were going to win on his at bat
  8. Don't forget about the fact that he was trying to bunt!I am not watching the game. I just have Gameday so I wasnt sure of that...Crazy!
  9. KRod unavailable due to his legs still bothering him. Did they say that in the pregame? He did pitch after the injury
  10. Alright, top of the order coming up. Lets get a run here. I wonder if Axford is available tonight or if KRod is going to be pitching the 9th
  11. True. They were scoring runs pretty well before the home stand but the last few games have been tough
  12. Well now I would let Yo bat since he is as good as pretty much our whole bench
  13. Yo with 94 pitches and he is rolling well but his spot is going to come up so I am guessing he wont pitch the 8th. Our starting pitching has been so good lately
  14. Count me in as the forum being messed up. Pitt ties it up in the bottom of the 9th
  15. The Twins got absolutely nothing for Young, but I guess his defense is really bad and like someone said he came in really out of shape. I am unsure of what the Twins are doing in the OF going forward. They have a strange infatuation with Ben Revere and his .590 OPS up there. Revere has one of the worst arms in MLB and he can hit much at all and they are playing him in LF. They are going to have guys who cover a lot of ground in Revere and Span but not much pop out of the OF. Cuddyer is a FA as well and reportedly felt low-balled by their extension offer of 2 years 16 million. Kubel is also a FA and is a really poor OF. They also were reportedly shopping Span at the deadline.
  16. Well we would have to seep them and hope they play poorly down the stretch. They are a ridiculously good team so I just dont see it happening. Halladay, Lee, Hamels and now Oswalt is back. Rollins, Utley, Howard, Victorino and Pence. Tough team to catch
  17. Did I miss the spot on predictions. I did not see anyone who had us at 11-2 at this point. I guess baldkins and young guns and even tigerbrew could be spot on
  18. Going back 25 games actually makes the stretch look a little worse. Over their last 19 games they are 17-2. Swept the Astros twice, Cubs, and Pirates, took 4 of 6 from the Cards, and now another win. They were 5-6 on that long road trip right after the break and since then they have been lights out.
