  1. Rogers - because I feel like he has worked extremely hard to get back on the mound Peralta - because with a good year he could be one of our top prospects Lawrie - with all the hype I would love to see him live up to them Odorizzi - he has great talent, great make up and I would love to see him in A ball at some point Fredrickson - he has a great arm and if he figures out how to throw strikes he could be dangerous. Obviously heavy on pitching because we need to see some developed. I actually we have some really high upside pitchers and I could have easily thrown Scarpetta, Braddock, Nieves (even Lintz) and others on this list
  2. The first inning and the third time through the lineup are usually the hardest humps starting pitchers have to get over.Maybe Jeffress just wants to shutdown all that future closer talk that some of the prospect sites use when talking about him. Does Jeffress have a pitch count early in the season? It seems like with his number 1 ER over 4 innings could have lead to him pitching longer
  3. or he really is learning how to take pitches. This is the first 3 walk game of his career
  4. If there is a silver lining to Braun's start he does seem to be taking more pitches. A two walk night for him is pretty rare.
  5. Gamel (.556) and Gindl (.429) are just raking to start off the season, although Gamel did have his 3rd error. Escobar (.333) has not been too bad himself. That Timber Rattlers pitching staff is sick. Nieves, Scarpetta, Peralta (who pitched very well tonight), and Fredrickson have looked good so far. It will be interesting to see if the young bats can keep up with the pitching.
  6. I am pretty sure Uke made that call. It was in the 9th and that is Uke's inning. Provus even said that Soriano appeared to be out on the double play ball. I actually like him well enough and he seems like a good compliment to Uke.
  7. It will be interesting to see if Yo comes back out. 88 pitches is not a ton but do you run him out there again?
  8. It is great to see Braun looking good early. After the injury questions with him I was a little anxious but he seems to be hitting pretty well. I hope Hart and hardy can follow suit and get hot as well.
  9. Yo is at 64. Johnson is over 80 right now. Glad to see his pitch count getting up there. He may only have one more inning in him.
  10. Not only giving them extra outs, but also making Yo throw extra pitches. After the bullpens display yesterday I was hoping that Yo could go deep into this game. The errors leading to extra pitches are not helping.
  11. Was it a hit and run attempt? Or did Braun just try to steal? I agree it does not make a ton of sense to steal in front of Prince, but we were able to steal a lot of bases off Molina yesterday.
  12. Getting to their bullpen in the 4th or 5th inning would be a great thing even with Lincecum struggling.
  13. Who is the long man in this one? DiFelice, McClung or Bush?
  14. Lincecum is up to 50 pitches after two innings. Huge at bat by Soup to keep that inning alive. It seems like we always give up hits to pitchers so it was nice to get one opening day.
  15. It is funny that he points that out because I would not guess Escobar, Gamel and Salome are going to get much time in the bigs this year unless there is an injury to JJ, Bill Hall or Kendall. And if those guys do not lose their prospect status we should be one of the top five systems in baseball next year. With guys like Ordorizzi, Scarpetta, Braddock, Nieves, Peralta, etc we have young arms with the potential to break out this year. Pair them with the bats we have including the previously mentioned trio who I doubt will lose prospect status, and then guys like Cain, Green, Lucroy, and Lawrie. This system looks to be in great shape to take a big step up not down.
  16. Lost 24 - depends how busy I am if I try to watch during the season Chuck - watch online when i get around to it Psych Scrubs - more the reruns, I have not watched this season at all The Office
  17. I agree with NDOG44 here. With Indiana, Iowa, Penn State (they lose 2 of their top 3), Northwestern (Coble will still be there but Moore is gone) all losing people or just not being that good I think the Badgers will be middle of the pack. On the offensive end they lose Landry's points but Krabby as much as I loved him probably can be replaced. Increased minutes for Leuer and Keaton will really help. I do agree with Miles about the defensive end of the court. Trevon is a great defender and I think Jordan Taylor will be very good as well, but Leuer and Keaton both struggle on the defensive end. Hopefully they figure it out. Bergerren is a big question as well as it sounds like the redshirting has done him really well and he is a low post guy who could really help. My guess is middle of the pack next year. I see Purdue and Michigan State being on top again. Ohio State depends on defections as Rick Potino said he heard Mullens was leaving and Turner could see the weak draft and go as well. Both would be a mistake if they went pro in my mind. Illinois loses a good amount of their back court. Minnesota does not lose much and could jump to the top half. Michigan will be interesting as well. They could improve a ton as long as Sims and Harris dont make dumb decisions and go pro.
  18. It is good see Braun hitting well in the Classic. He is now batting .500 for the tourney
  19. While it is not great news for the Badgers according almost every bracket right now they are not even in the last 10 in. Many have them as a 9 seed. That leaves 4 10,11, and 12 seeds they are ahead and those spots are almost all at-large bids. In fact they are ahead of at least three bubble teams in their own conference in Penn State, Michigan and Minnesota. They should be safe even if they lose their first game in the Big Ten tourney because very few bubble teams have played well down the stretch.
  20. I'm still not sure at this point that you can assume that Ben is the "bad guy." We don't really know anyone's actual intentions when it comes to the Island. And yes it did go long but it seemed like the last commercial break was noticeably longer. In no way do I think Ben is "the bad guy." However, I do think it is more apparent after last night that he is a little less ambiguous. The strangling John thing at least leads that he is not a good guy. At the same time I do not think Whitmore is a good guy either. That story line is going to be really fun to follow
  21. I watched the second half of the game and there was one call that was terrible against Marquette - it was a clean block by someone Burke or Butler and he got called for a foul. However, outside of that I am not sure I would say it was one-sided. I mean Marquette was in the bonus rather quickly in the second half. Now, I did not watch the first half so it could have been pretty bad then, but I thought the second half was decently fair. I should mention I am neither a Marquette or UConn fan.
  22. I really enjoyed this weeks episode and not as much for the Locke stuff but more for the added insight into Whitmore and Ben. I have always like Ben as a bad guy and I am glad they did not string out this is he good or is he bad thing with Ben. It seemed like this season and part of last they were trying to paint Ben as a kind of good guy or at least a bad guy with good motives or whatever. Also, is it just me or did the episode go 5 minutes longer than usual. I looked at my phone and it was like 9:05
  23. I think Salome gets knocked down maybe too much for his defense. I wonder if it would effect his status if he was on an AL team where he could dh if catching did work in the long run. I am a little surprised Jeffress is only 100 considering how much a lot of scouting services value pure stuff. He is downright filthy when he is on and is young enough to have time to fully develop.
  24. I do not know if this is posted anywhere else. The BA top 100 is out and 4 Brewers made the cut. Escobar was at 19, Gamel at 34, Lawrie at 81 and Jeffress checked in at 100. For those interested Matt LaPorta was 27. I think those numbers seem about right. There is a lot of love out there for Lawrie considering he was the 16th pick and did not play any pro ball last year.
  25. In that conference I do think they will struggle. McNeal, Matthews and James all play over 32 minutes a game and score a little over 50 points a game. They are also the only guys averaging over 1.3 assists per game. Not mention they lose Burke who though not great still gives them 20 minutes a game. Hayward is going to have to be huge next year for them to stay with the likes of Louisville, UConn, Pitt, and the others.
