I cannot vote for a guy who does not deserve because I complain vehemently when a guy like Soriano or Fukudome or Varitek is there starting taking a spot of someone who does deserve. I am all for other people voting for all Brewers but it saddens me to see Bill Hall up there in votes. That said if a Brewer gets into the last player in vote I will vote for them no matter what. I guess I am a little bit of a hypocrite

I wont vote for a Milwaukee guy unless I think he deserves it or is border-line getting in. Even though I love JJ, I cannot vote for him. Right now Braun is the only one I will vote for.

Kidd is easily better than Redd, as is Millsap and Prince. Nene is incredibly efficient on offense and a much better defender than Redd. Fine, you may not agree on Love, I disagree. He's a monster rebounder as a rookie and as he gets older, he should improve his shooting. Although I find your reason for Love not being as good as Redd hilarious. Love racked up decent stats on a terrible team as opposed to Redd who racked up decent stats on terrible teams. Your argument for Nene is weak. He is efficient on offense because he is a big guys whose job is to clean up the glass and and get rebounds. Their efficiency rankings are actually pretty similar. Kidd is not easily better. He is as bad on defense and cannot shoot at all anymore. His assist numbers are good still but they are not in the elite level they used to be. As for Love 11 points, 9 boards, 1 assist compared to 20 points 4 boards, 3 assists are not all that similar of numbers. Those are Redd's career numbers and his past few years have had a higher point total. I do think being on a bad team helps aid your stats and that is part of the reason Redd has had good numbers, but he put up much better numbers. This is why I say being on a bad team helped Loves numbers so much. They actually have similar shooting percentages which should not be the case for a guard against a low post player. For comparison Bogut's FG % was a full tenth of a point higher than Love's. That is a huge difference and points to a guy who is not a great offensive player getting more shot than he really should in my mind. I could be way off but from the just watching the few games I do with these players that is my opinion, but like someone said in this thread these comparisons like a shooting guard to a forward are tough. I just think a lot of Bucks fans cannot stand Redd because of his contract and think he is not good because he is overpaid, but I think he is a very good (but not great and he is getting paid like a great player) player.

The Cubs have had some injuries but they are getting older and have not has as bad of luck as people think. At the beginning of the year I think everyone would have bet that Zambrano and Harden would be on the DL at least once - check. The have everyday position players who are getting older like Lee and Ramirez who have been hurt and a DL trip for either of those two was suspected as well. Milton Bradley has been hurt - now there is a shocker. They have had no surprise injuries at all. You can say that yesterday they put up an awful lineup but 6 of the 8 are guys who were supposed to be starters or platoon guys (Johnson and Miles) at the beginning of the year. Only Hoff and Freel are bench guys who are having to play because of injury, and Lee is not hurt he was just sick yesterday. The Brewers have played without Weeks and Hardy the past couple games but we dont say our lineup has been ravaged by injuries. Neither Weeks nor Hardy is a huge surprise to be hurt because they have been before so we can not use that as an excuse.

Nene, Kidd, Prince, Milsap, Love are not better than Redd. Love racked up decent stats on a terrible team. Nene is a career 11 point 6 reb player. Kidd is washed-up. Prince is a good team player but I would not trade him for Redd any day (if contracts are similar), Milsap is a good player and in the future will be better than Redd.I am pretty sure Redd could do what Ray Allen did for Boston the past two years with Garnett and Pierce. Rip Hamilton is not the same player he used to be. That said Redd still is not in the top 20 players in the league right now. Redd is overpaid but he is still a very good player

The Cubs are a mess right now. 5 runs in the last six games. Now when the score runs their pitching staff is getting rocked. Pit has nine runs now and the Cubs rotation that was supposed to be so great to start the year is looking mighty mediocre right now. Z has been okay, Lilly has been their best pitcher, Marshall gets by, Dempster has been pretty bad and Harden is back on the dl. That does not even take into account their bullpen struggling mightily as well. That said with how bad they have been the Cubs are still .500 so they will be a team to reckon with as long as they dont implode.

With what talent? They have nothing in their Minor League system. Going off of the White Sox deal, it looks like they want young pitching in return. The cubs have Samardzija (if he still counts a minor), Vitters and that's really it as far as real minor league talent goes. well, i would think that jake fox would be an interesting prospect, at least so long as he's hitting everything in sight. too bad he plays the same position as san diego's only good offensive player. Jake Fox is a 26 year old in AAA, he has some value but not a ton. Seems kind of like a Nelson Cruz to me. It would have to be Vitters, a really good pitching prospect, which they do not have or maybe Marshall who is already in the rotation. I am not sure if Vitters, Marshall and Fox would get it done but I do not see how the Cubs could make this trade without including Vitters and Marshall since it is known the Padres want young pitching and the Cubs have none. They have an old rotation outside of Marshall and no great prospects for pitching. It is kind of unfortunate for the Padres because they have a great trading piece and a team desperate for him but the Cubs have nothing of value to trade. Even their young position players in the majors do not have a ton of value. Fontenot is struggling and Theriot is good enough (although i think overrated) but he would not land much in return.

No way this is lateral at best. Gerut has hit major league pitching, unlike Gwynn. He is having rough stat year aided by an almost unthinkinable BAbip and playing at Petco. At worst a lateral move, at best a very good move.

If it is Gerut I like the trade a lot. Some will look at his BA and OBP and be extremely disappointed but he has a .920 OPS on the road this year. He has been awful at home aided in part by the park I am sure and in part do an almost impossible .158 BAbip. That is crazy. On the road it is .318 which is more normal and his number look nice.

DeRosa playing right now does make it seem like it is not him. I have no clue who else it would be. Any other thoughts on who this could be?

What kind of contract did he sign with Cleveland? Is it that likely that Cleveland would trade him 40 games into his contract? He was traded to Cleveland so he is still on his Cubs contract. He is a free-agent after this year if I remember correctly. We would be on the books for approximately 3 million if it was him. I would love to get DeRosa

Could they even trade Beckham right now? Wasn't he was drafted last year? Obviously, reports are saying he is not part of this deal but he would have to be a PTBNL in the deal.

I have not seen anywhere that this is a done deal it is still waiting for Peavy's approval. I would think this is something that should be on the rumors board until then.

Beckham would have to be a PTBNL because he was drafted last year if I am correct. Apparently, Clayton Richard and Aaron Poreda are involved. I know very little about either guy.

I am 100% okay with him going to the White Sox. I never thought we would get him, I just hoped. That means he wont be with the Cubs or any other NL team. This would be terrific news for the Crew. It is nice we have not played San Diego yet too, so we would not have to face him then.

Dave Bush is not going to get Dempster or Perez money but he also is not a guy who has had just one good year. Jeff Suppan did not just have one good post season. Look at his numbers with St. Louis. 16 wins twice, with an ERA at 4.1 twice and at 3.5 once. Those are nice numbers regardless of his post season run. Dave Bush has been consistent as a Brewer and would provide a depth in a rotation set up around Gallardo and hopefully Parra if he can progress as a pitcher.

The Dodgers gave up a really nice prospect to get Casey Blake last year from the Indians. Carlos Santana was a really good catching prospect and they got a pitcher too. I have no idea what DeRosa would cost but I am guessing it is much more than Seth McClung, hopefully not.

Peralta with a nice 3 innings. 7 K's and no runs. He did walk two but the 7 K's is pretty impressive.

I would look into Karen Hurd. She is a nutritionist around Eau Claire WI. She has helped a bunch of people with health issues everywhere from diabetes to arthritis and other things. I know a lot of people who go to her and swear by her. She is not a vegan by any stretch of the imagination, she promotes eating meat. She is big into beans and no sugar though. I have no idea about the guy you brought up and have no real thoughts on vegan stuff.

Is there a big difference in terms of what is and is not show-boating in baseball opposed to football? I understand they are different games but when Brett Favre would make a big play he would run around and do all sorts of crazy things and no one I know ever called him a showboat. It may just be the difference in the games and the history, tradition, etc, but only a couple of the times have I seen Braun be what could be described as a showboat, most other times he just seems geniunely excited in what what happened, like the catch last night. I have watched the clip and see absolutely nothing wrong with it and I have thought Braun has showboated before

Thats what makes the Mariners a bad choice at least for this year. They have Branyan (who is hitting well), Griffey (who will not be sat over Nelson in my mind) and then Jeff Clement who is in AAA and a much better prospect than Brad.

Why would Brad sign there of all places? It seems like there had to have been other places that would have been a better fit after reading the USS Mariner article. They are pretty set at the 1b, DH, Corner OF spots in AAA and the majors. Hope the best for him though.

I completely agree with dlk here. I am a big stickler for sportsmanship. I do not like anything which is above and beyond simple excitement of the play. That is what most of the Braun stuff seems like. Staring at a home-run is done by so many people, heck they should really dislike Bill Hall who also stares down doubles. And the untuckem thing is the most rediculous thing to complain about. It is a complete non-issue. It is not show-boating, so outside of being annoyed by the fact that the Brewers keep beating them, I can think of no reason to be mad at it. Honestly, for someone who is probably overly sensitive to bad sportsmanship I could care less if another team untucked their jerseys after a win. I also agree with the talk about the Braun hate being over the top and odd, especially from the Cubs fans. He smiled after a catch, I have seen Zambrano do countless things that would be classified as worse sportsmanship than that. But you know what, I can still admit in his prime Zambrano was a great pitcher, they cannot admit Braun is really good.
