    I was thinking the same thing that it was a favor to Rivera. He was either the backup at AAA or maybe the starter at AA. Also perhaps the reason Jaramillo was signed so late, to replace the spot that Rivera would have been at.

    Since the northwest is becoming a hot topic in this thread, we are planning a week long vacation over the 4th this year flying into Seattle , taking in a Mariners game and driving midweek to Portland then flying out of Portland. We are thinking a week (Sat to Sat) with 17 month old twins. Anything that you recommend we see or do.

    I saw somewhere in the last 24 that Phillips was returned to minor league camp so that is the 3rd guy from 36 to 33. Sorry don't recall where I read it though.

    I love how people can make that argument. I would think that if Bud was looking out for the Brewers as Commish, they would have more than 2 playoff appearances, 1 division title, 1 NLDS appearance and zero WS appearances in the 20 years as Commish. If he is assisting the Brewers win, I am a fan of a sad organization I guess. Get a clue!

    Have no regrets sending my one year old son to day care in his Braun tshirt today after that press conference. Hopefully this will be the start of Braun clearing his name and I won't have to explain any of this to my son in a few years.

    I have XM, don't listen to online since they started charging extra for it. I think it was sometime after 2004 since I don't think I even had XM until 2005. More like 2008 or 2009 that they changed that. And I think they let you listen for free online until your renewal date as I am paying yearly.

    Rogers doesn't count currently as he is suspended. Not sure if that changes at some point this off-season or not.

    My 8 month old son had fallen asleep with his bottle but I had picked him up and he was on the couch next to me sleeping. When the Brewers won I picked him up, started yelling in excitment and then let him gently fall back on the couch. I scared him and he started crying.     Obsessed, I don't think I will be able to handle this coming down to a walk-off homer so I hope you are wrong. What's wrong with a 7 run first or second inning game.

    Win it for Sheets and Jenkins, probably the best 2 Brewers during those lean years and 2 guys that didn't jump at free agency the first chance they got when they were still in their prime. I think I ordered my Sheets jersey the day of or after his signing to the first contract extension. Finally had a decent player that was going to be around for more than a few years. Also win it for Emily and Logan, my 8 month old twins that have spent their entire life down here in Illinois rooting for the Wisconsin teams and don't have a championship to show for it. (They missed the super bowl by 3 days.) Go Brew Crew!

    Just bought two for Wednesday afternoon. Gotta feeling if it doesn't happen then the Brewers will be NL Central champions the next time they take the field on Friday night. Has a team ever celebrated winning a division while at home watching TV? I'm sure it has happened but don't recall it.

    Who made it the media's job to ask him about next year? Shouldn't they be asking him about the upcoming game/series, rest of the season? The media know the situation with his contract as does the rest of the baseball world. Why does it need to be asked in September? The media's job is to report on the news. Nothing new was coming out of the contract situation so what is the reason to report on that now? That is/was my point above.

    My take on this and the KRod story - The media use to report on the news and now they feel they need to make the news or else they aren't doing their job.

    I'm confused how the simulated game matters to call-up. Couldn't anyone throw the simulated game without being on the roster. The two things may have happened at the same time but he was added to the 40 man/active roster because they plan to see what he has.

    What time tomorrow is the playoff roster set? Considering they play at 7, can they do it post game and then call-up McClendon, DeFelice, etc. for Thursday when rosters expand.

    I think they will activate Gomez on Wednesday and send DLC to AAA. Wouldn't that set their playoff roster at 14 positional players and 11 pitchers and they can move guys around based on injury, etc. but only pitcher for pitcher and positional for positional. No reason to have 12 pitchers in Oct.
