  1. I always thought Jim Powell would replace Uecker when he either retired or passed away. I always like Jim and I too thought he was Uecker at times.
  2. Ok who would you give up to get Holliday if he is even available?
  3. Lets compare the two. Hart: 163 AB's .245 AVG, .322 OBP, .399 SLG, .721 OPS, 4 HR, 18 RBI, 19 BB, 44 SO Holliday: 156 AB's .269 AVG, .352 OBP, .429 SLG, .781 OPS, 6 HR, 27 RBI, 17 BB, 28 SO I dont see a signifigant upgrade other than Holliday doesnt strikeout as much. So I wouldnt want to waste sending prospects over to the A's for a minimal upgrade.
  4. "The Padres ace used his no-trade clause to block a potential trade that would have sent the All-Star right-hander to the White Sox in a 4-for-1 deal, which reportedly included Chicago's top pitching prospects in Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard." http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090521&content_id=4856804&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  5. As the Brewers win thier 7th in a row and tieing the best start in franchise history, the last time was in 2007, I wonder if the Brewers can keep this winning up. I know the Brewers arnt going to win every game but this year feels different than the past couple years. It feels like they can go out there and win any game they want with the consistant pitching and the timely hitting it just feels like we could win every game for the rest of the season. Now I would like to hear some opinions on if the Brewers are able to keep this type of winning up all season and if we could be WS bound, I know its early but I would like some opinions on that as well.
  6. I wonder if Jack Z. is going to target a 3B next draft unless they think Lawrie is going to be one. I would love to get a guy that has great defense plus a good bat, like a Ryan Zimmerman type guy.
  7. What if lets say New York Yankees sign both CC and Sheets, do we get 2 first round picks plust 2 1st round comp. picks or how does that work?
  8. Suppan to the 15 day DL with a right elbow joint irritation per - WSSP radio. CC will replace Suppan
  9. This trade has worked out GREAT for the Brewers. Only giving up LaPorta (who I do like but can live without), Jackson, Bryson, and PTBNL (who I doubt is going to be Green but who knows) for CC Sabathia. Great day for the Brewers. Now with Seth, CC, Sheets and possibly Manny going against Colorado (who is missing Helton and Tulo.) Im looking for a sweep, but can live with 3 out of 4 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I am just glad its over and dont have to worry about this anymore. A Toast to you Doug Melvin and to you as well Mark a fine job you have done.
  10. agent39: That is awesome news that Green is at home and hasnt been contacted yet. I truly hope he isnt the one of the other prospects thats involved since he is one of my favorites in the minors and that he could fill a void since I dont see Gamel at 3rd in the majors.
  11. Speaking of Fryer, he is becoming one of my new favorite prospects. But when is he going to move up? He is 22 and going to be 23 in August. Im hoping that he continues to rake and move up rapidly.
  12. This is great news, Im overwhelmed. I would like to know who the other two prospects are, on the ESPN boards (Brewers and Indians boards) I see a repeat of Lucroy and Green. FWIW. MAN THIS IS EXCITING.......
  13. Yea I was had for a fool. They told me that the source was reputable and this rumor has been talked about on WSSP by Sparky and gave me a link that doesnt work. I apologize. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  14. The supposed source is saying that the Brewers get Kershaw and Hu for Hardy plus the Brewers get CC for LaPorta, Green and Jeffress.
  15. Yeah I apologize, I dont think this guy has a reputable source, but good to throw out there. Also Kershaw would come to the Brewers for JJ not CC.
  16. Now I found this on the Dodgers board on the ESPN boards, It is very interesting. The guys says he has a source so who knows but this will liven up the discussion more. "My source told me that the rumor here in Milwaukee is that the C.C. trade with Hardy and LaPorta for C.C. was changed because it appears that the Dodgers have offered a top prospects Clayton Kershaws and Chin-Lung Hu. Milwaukee would then promote Escobar to the mlb at S.S. and change the C.C. trade to LaPorta, Taylor Green (Brewers 2007 prospect of the Year) and Jeffrees. Likely to happen before the all-star break. I will keep you updated on upcoming information. " Now I would love Kershaw in Milwaukee but I dont know about Jeffress going with LaPorat and Green to CC. Also note that the Dodgers are in need of a SS.
  17. During that 1st inning it was raining aswell. Even though he shouldnt have let it affect him maybe everything got combined to great a perfect storm, Wet ball plus nervousness.... Anyways Im not too concerned because he settled down pretty much after that. Also I was wondering if the Brewers are looking at Evan as a Starter or is he going to be a reliever?
  18. I was happy that the Packers didnt get Moss. Didnt the Packers get Jones with the pick that was going to be sent? I forgot now but Im glad it didnt happen.
  19. Looks like Fryer and Wheeler have switched spots in the lineup for todays game. I find that interesting.
  20. Yeah that makes sense. That would be pretty awesome to have Salome, Lucroy, and Fryer as a Catching logjam.
  21. Interesting developments, This is from a guy that is in Cleveland (Posted this on the ESPN Boards) and said its from the radio station 1100 there in Cleveland. sabathia will be gone before his next scheduled start and could be as early as tonight to the brewers for this trade cleveland: OF Matt Laporta SS Acladies Escobar 3B Taylor Green P Alexandre Periard Brewers: SP C.C. Sabathia RP Masiya Kobiashi (i know i butchered the name)
  22. Maybe have Gamel in AAA next year to learn 1B and have Nelson up at 1B next year.
  23. Thanks for the Scouting Report. Yeah the Brewers just have to be stunned. Lets hope he continues this and maybe plays at 3B? Just thinking outloud now. But yeah I was just wondering how he can go from less than thrilling to wow look at this guy in WV, he is hitting awesome.
  24. Idk how Im going to do it but Im going to try to get some sleep and hopefully wake up to great news of landing CC and a Brewers win later.
  25. Man I hope we get CC. I would be expecting atleast a good bullpen arm with CC if both prospects are included. Also we dont know if any of these guys are going to be Major Leaguers. Im liking the playoff rotation of CC, Sheets, Suppan, plus Gallardo if he returns early enough and Parra.
