  1. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8311012/Brewers-lead-pack-making-serious-run-at-Sabathia I would love to just give up LaPorta and maybe a lesser prospect for CC then groom Gamel in the OF but if we give up both Escobar and LaPorta, there better be a pitching prospect on the way as well imo. Also lets take a look, playoff rotation of Sheets, CC, Suppan, Parra. That would win us some games. Maybe Gallardo too if he comes back early.
  2. What do you guys think of him? I would like some opinions on this guys since I dont know much about him. Looks like he plays Catcher and played LF last night. Now he is hitting the ball very well right now and didnt do much last year. What Im looking for is what are the projections on him and the Teams view on him.
  3. Exactly, and they are 19, 19, and 20 respectively in age. Some exciting stuff going on in the Brewers minor league system. I hope the Brewers trade for CC and I dont mind giving up a LaPorta or a Gamel (I would rather give up LaPorta if I had the choice) because it helps the team try for a playoff run and once the offseason hits we are going to get 2 picks for him and add on if Sheets doesnt resign thats 2 more picks and we are in the same situation we where last year with 7 picks in the top 90. Also with Parra looking very good we have Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, McClung, Bush. I hope Villy can get a grasp on how to effectively pitch a 3rd time through the order because I think he has the stuff to do it. Plus we still have Cappy. Sorry for the rant but like I said exciting times.
  4. Didnt some people on this site say they didnt like Escobar as a prospect and didnt think he would amount to anything? Now I see people say they want him called up if JJ hits the DL. Now I dont know if that was any of you guys that replyed to this thread but I thought Id throw that out there since some of people where saying that.
  5. I really could care less who gets it, just give the Brewers the money, keep the statewide network and keep the tandem of Powell and Uke.
  6. A splash to me would be sign one of the highly regarded guys in the market. NOTE: I havent followed much of the international market so forgive me if the Brewers have done a lot in that market. It seems the way they draft it would be the same with the international market.
  7. Thought this was intresting, http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=733#more-733. Im wondering if the Brewers will make a splash in the International Market this year or just sign a couple of low key guys like they did last year. Also I wouldnt mind the Brewers getting the Inoa kid. Also if this is posted elsewhere I am sorry.
  8. To be honest I am suprised that the Cardinals are that high but I dont know there farm system and the Brewers that low. Figured we would be in the 15 range but I have trust in Jack Z to restock our system. Also I believe the Yankees prospects get a little to hyped but thats just my opinion. Edit: Thank you for posting that.
  9. How would you rate all the Farm Systems right now?
  10. I think he was scouted by Florida as a Catcher so why not stick him back there while he is still in the minors to see what he has. I know this isnt a PS2 game that you can move players around willy nilly but I think if he sticks then you can have LaPorta at C, Prince at 1st, Weeks at 2nd, Hardy at SS, Hall at 3rd, Braun at LF, Hart at CF, and Gamel at RF. Idk I like Gamels bat and hope he comes up and becomes a good player and hopefully he figures out his defensive woes at 3rd. Its just something to think about. EDIT: clarified title - BtA
  11. Ok thanks colby I will have to look into those sites. If you have scouting reports on Tim Melville and Alex Meyer that would be awesome.
  12. Does anyone know where I can find, on the internet, free scouting reports of High school prospects and/or college prospects? I have looked a little bit and I see a couple sites where you have to pay to get the information I am just curious if there is a free site that has the scouting reports. If not which is the best site to get scouting reports if you have to pay for them?
  13. Thanks for the info. colby. One more question, who are the front runners of prep arms coming into next years draft? Any Power Lefties?
  14. What do you guys think the Brewers will do with thier pick in next years draft? HS Pitcher? College Pitcher? Position Player? Just asking what you guys think that they are gonna do.
  15. I looked at the draft report on him and didnt say what kind of stuff he throws. If anybody has that info could you share it please.
  16. Looking at Inmans stats, I just dont get how you can have a 5.45 ERA while pitching in Huntsville then go to San Antonio and pitch a 1.35 ERA in the Padres AA team. Are the leagues different? Is it easier to pitch or easier competition in the Texas League?
  17. He looks pretty good in his relief roles and starts. Are the Brewers high on him? And would he be a starter or a reliever for the Brewers?
  18. That the Brewers organization are high on since Inman departed. Whats now the next guy I might be able to see in Milwaukee a few years down the road to help this young team?
  19. Well Easley is batting over .300 vs lefties and about .200 vs righties. Good choice made by Ned even if Spurling gave up a run.
  20. How has Lucroy done in Rookie ball? And what are the rankings of the Catchers in the system
  21. Watching the Brewers throw away games and lose but I just dont see how you can be down about this team. When this season started I didnt think we would be a first place team throughout most of the season, and that we would have a chance at the Central title. Personally I thought if we have a winning season and maybe the wildcard I would label this season as a success. Now I am guilty of thinking at times if the Brewers dont make the postseason that this season is a wreck but you gotta know that the infield is a average of 23.5 years old, top that with a 24 year old right fielder thats 5 out of 9 players in the lineup that hasnt come close to reaching thier potential. This team is so young that it is forseeable that they will go through big ups and downs. This team is very very talented and will only get better, and I cant wait till LaPorta gets here maybe next year or the year after but this team is gonna be amazing for the next 5-6 years. Most teams that are this young dont go that far because the young kids dont usually produce as high as this so take it as what it is. And lastely how are the cubs keeping this up? I suspect a major collapse if this goes until middle August and drop off the face of the earth in Sept. So Im not overly concerned right now with the cubs catching us. They have to drop off somewhere.
  22. My Predictions are: 3/3 from Col. 3/4 from Ari. 3/3 from S.F. 9/10 from the home stand 2/4 from Cin. 3/4 from Stl. 5/8 from the road trip 14/18 from the next 18 games 63-43 will be the Brewers record after this trip. Now I know this might not be possible but I have a feeling the Brewers will get hot right out the gates from the all star break and start beating up teams.
  23. Just curious why Cody is in Brevard when he is 23 years old. Seems a little old for A ball, but I dont know if he still needs work on something. If you guys could inform me on why he is in A ball that would be great.
  24. Ok IDK why people rip on Ned Yost for leaving his pitchers in there to get out of thier own problems, and trying to save the pen for later in the year. I know you said that we could have a 4 person rotation for the 6th inning but what about the 7th, 8th, and 9th? With 74 games left, if Ned did decide to do this and relieve his SP in the 6th, that would be 296 Innings for the pen and thats a hell of a lot of innings for that pen in that short of a stretch. It just irkes me when people complain about Ned doing his job. He probably has more knowledge about baseball and more importantly about the team then we as fans. And finally a question for the OP if the SP is pitching good, lets say they are at 5IP 2ER and had a 123 in the 5th are you still gonna take him out in the 6th inning because some of our SP struggle with that inning? Sorry about my rant, it ends with I would like to see Vargas go to the pen because hes the biggest culprete(sp?) about this. I believe he hasnt gotten to the 7th inning at all this year, so I would like him in the pen and give Villy the 5th spot.
