  1. That was predictable... way to go RR... you gave away a run with that stupid 1st inning Sac Bunt, and now you just gave away another run
  2. Milwaukee Brewers CF Carlos Gomez ® SS Jean Segura ® RF Ryan Braun ® 1B Jonathan Lucroy ® 2B Rickie Weeks ® 3B Mark Reynolds ® C M. Maldonado ® LF Khris Davis ® P Wily Peralta ® Atlanta Braves RF Jason Heyward (L) LF Justin Upton ® 1B Freddie Freeman (L) C Evan Gattis ® 3B Chris Johnson ® CF B.J. Upton ® SS A. Simmons ® 2B Ramiro Pena (S) P Mike Minor (L) Our lineup tonight. I think this might be our strongest lineup of the season and I hope RR uses Maldonado and Lucroy together more often as long as Maldy is raking! Throw in our best starter so far this season and we have the makings of a good night! Edit: Lineups. JJK
  3. Frustrating 1st inning. We leave 2 runners on base and Garza spots Scrubs a 3-0 lead... Feels like a game that Jackson will allow us 10 hits, 4 BB over 7 scoreless innings while striking out 12
  4. hopefully he can get off to a good start. His past starts have been underwhelming lately That said, he did battle back after that tough 1st inning against the Yankees go give us a shot to win that game (which we did) Still... Only 3 of his 8 starts have been "Quality Starts" Hopefully we can make it 4/9 today! Historically May has been his worst month and he gets considerably better post AS-Break (3.15 ERA versus 3.99 pre-AS Break)
  5. WOW. Good deal. UGLY UGLY UGLY, but we got it done. Now get on the phone Doug and get us a bat!
  6. May OPS For our lineup: We had 6 starters today with OPS below .630 and starting 1B with an OPS of .299 That is troubling Weeks 1.582 OPS (20 AB) Maldonado 1.555 OPS (10 AB) Gomez .929 OPS (39 AB) Lucroy .863 OPS (40 AB) STARTER TODAY Gennett .788 OPS (36 AB) STARTER TIDAT Braun .664 OPS (10 AB) Segura .626 OPS (47 AB) STARTER TODAY Reynolds .611 OPS (36 AB) STARTER TODAY Davis .583 OPS (40 AB) STARTER TODAY Ramirez .579 OPS (29 AB) Herrera .571 OPS (8 AB) STARTER TODAY Schafer .566 OPS (25 AB) STARTER TODAY Gindl .462 OPS (19 AB) Overbay .299 OPS (29 AB) STARTER TODAY Bianchi .236 OPS (8 AB)
  7. I think our hitters not being patient is a big reason. I agree with those that say Gomez has been better as a first pitch swinger, but I think part of the reason opposing starting pitchers have been effective is because we have so many innings where we go 1-2-3 and force the other team to throw less than 10 pitches an inning. I'd guess (though it doesn't hold today), that in games where we force the opposing pitcher towards 100 pitches through 5-6 innings, we are far more successful against the bullpen, but if we aren't patient, and we allow the opposing starter to make it through 8 innings, we're only facing the closer in the opposing bullpen. As noted before, we have a VERY weak bench. We can afford to "break in" Davis in LF, if (and only IF) we get some production from 1B. Right now, I'd venture that our production at 3B, 1B, and LF have been awful. We've had some nights where our production in RF and SS has been awful. CF/C are about the only places we're performing above average, and 2B has been average. We simply can't afford to have anyone hurt, because we start each night with 2-3 huge holes in our lineup (LF and 1B) even if everyone is healthy. That just isn't going to cut it for a playoff team. If we solidify 1B, Reynolds can be a solid backup 1B/3B. But right now, moving Reynolds to 3B to cover AR doens't help at all because we get another noodle bat in the lineup. I'm fine with LS getting 40-50 starts to spell Gomez, Davis, and Braun, but our other replacements (Gindl, Herrera, etc...) have been terrible in the OF in addition to having poor production from 1B/3B... The pitching staff is positions favorably to deal with injuries, I'd call our offense a bottom 1/3 offense right now in MLB. Part of it is injuries, but every team has injuries. It just means you can't have a crappy bench if you want to be decent.
  8. Our talent level is WAY below our record, and our record will come back to earth. Despite the 4 runs today, our offense is absolutely AWFUL! If it were not for the 3 errors by Chicago, we might be getting shut out right now. I honestly don't know how this team scores right now. I'm sure the pitchers feel sick knowing that if we fall behind at all during the game, our odds of coming back are very very low...
  9. Some Great Defense that inning. Lohse at 85 pitches through 6
  10. We need more runs. I don't think 4 runs is going to get it done today. Missed a golden opportunity there... Let's hope Lohse can give us two more clean innings
  11. Looking at that lineup, I hope we don't play. Yikes our lineup looks awful... No Gomez, no A-Ram, no Braun, no Weeks (sorta blue)

I think our team plays way better when we have an IGT started hours before game-time. We can also give thanks for our roof. Man the teams that didn't put a roof on their stadium sure have to sweat those rain delays lately! I'm calling it early and say that Braun is back and is going to greet Cole with 2 home runs. 7-3 Brewers!
  13. I believe that it might be a day to day decision now, but I'm curious if anyone has seen a lineup for tonight.
  14. Any chance this feature will ever come back? I really miss reviewing those :D
  15. Yikes.... Willy keeps wiggling off the hook. 10 hits allowed and only 2 runs seems like a streak we won't be able to continue. Co-signed on the double plays. Yikes
  16. Yikes, after the first inning, our offense has gone MIA again... Definitely would like to see Reynolds get some AB at 3rd base until A-Ram can get healed up
  17. I'm all for Amaris being in the lineup if he's healthy, but if he's not, DL him and get Maldy more playing time
  18. How about Reynolds at 3B (give Amaris some more rest), and play Maldy at 1B (keep his bat in the lineup?)
  19. Great Patience this inning. excellent ABs by Maldy, Weeks, Gomez, and now Segura!
  20. I've seen it listed some places as a playoff appearance and not listed in other places (ESPN). I actually didn't realize that season was cut in two because of the strike. I was looking through ESPN this morning and couldn't figure out why we weren't listed in the playoffs for 1981 when we had the best division record, and then I realized there was a Division playoff that year...

  22. Yeah.... RR's move yesterday cost us the game. If he leaves Smith in to finish the 8th, we probably escape with a 3-2 win. The running into outs is really getting old as well...
