  1. Yeah Kenny Clark landing on you can't feel too good
  2. That was a good play design in a big spot
  3. It would make the Packers a much better team if special teams was relegated to punts and field goals.
  4. I just don't understand why packer special teams players consistently do stupid things....it spans all positions across multiple coaches over a loooong time.
  5. If they go for it here, oh my...dangit
  6. I also think Murray's wrap on his throwing hand pinky finger is leading to inaccurate throws.
  7. Shocked Murray hasn't had designed runs yet.
  8. Like the td....still thought going for it was the wrong call but im glad they converted! Defense getting work done against this oline in a big way
  9. The Cards are not a juggernaut, especially with Hopkins hurt. This actually seems like a typical Thursday night slog of a game...
  10. Cards' defensive weakness is against the run...so let's just not exploit that despite having no WR's Sheesh
  11. Ist and goal from the 3 and you just decide to not run the ball?
  12. Green Bay special teams coordinator has to be one of the worst coaching gigs in sports.....if you are chasing the guy you are supposed to block, you can't block him in the back - yet it happens every damn return that isn't a fair catch
  13. There's definitely a better way to try and promote change and make efforts to influence public opinion with at least half the general population than going the "take my ball and go play somewhere else" route - particularly in this case as it deprived arguably the friendliest metropolitan area in the country for minority small business owners (ATL) of roughly $100M in economic activity when they could've damn sure used it and shipped it to a city consistently ranked near the bottom in that category(Denver). Oh well, at least the 5% of people in the US that are hyperactive on twitter who largely don't give two craps about baseball stopped feigning outrage for 5 seconds before going back to being perpetually grouchy. In the end that All Star game move looked petulant and divisive and probably did more harm than good in the long run - pretty much Manfred's M.O. now that I think of it... Regardless, I'm hoping they promote Mattress Mack to hand out the trophy - no matter who winds up winning the Series he's gonna come out a winner!
  14. Hopkins has a bum hammy which is going to have him limited at best and potentially not playing tonight, too. He could be a late scratch if he's not able to gear up for the game in warmups, since teams don't actually practice at all prior to these thursday games aside from light walkthroughs and meetings.
  15. Thanks for the reminder about one of the multiple times our defense blew chunks in playoff OT and Rodgers never touched the ball. Good times. Defense actually played really well most of that game, too until it got gassed. Offense was nonexistent prior to those two heaves to Janis at the end of regulation to even tie it up. Huge play at the start of OT to Fitzgerald happened after a clean miss sack on Palmer, and coverage broke down. I remember Shields missed 2 game-changing INTs in the red zone that probably would have led to a Packer win, too. There was also a fluky tipped pass that wound up being a TD for the cards with 4 minutes left in regulation. Rodgers was also terrible for most of that game...not that he had much to throw to.
  16. I still like the frozen tundra dirt sale they did back in the late 1990s the best. As a fan I'd rather pay $200 for a piece of paper that I know cost the team I want to support maybe $0.01 to produce knowing they get the rest of the $199.99 instead of paying about that amount for a jersey that has a whole bunch of other companies/entities getting their cut before the Packers themselves profit. It's more like an annual Amazon Prime or Costco membership than anything, and frankly everyone paying that amount realizes it.
  17. That 13-3 record was just as much due to a soft last place schedule and stud defensive roster coming together at the same time compared to it being because of good QB play. I think those records also speak to how fickle sustained success can be if you don't have a damn good quarterback leading the way. The 49ers defense is nowhere near the dominating unit it was a few seasons ago, and that's not just due to injuries - they've lost some key players and staff that made that thing go, too. At some point they just need to turn things over to Lance to see if he's going to be the guy, because Jimmy G isn't.
  18. You may not be wrong in raising the question, but the answer to the question of whether key healthy players play in this game or sit out for load management is most certainly "play". At this point in the season, everyone on the roster has some sort of knick or minor injury issue they're dealing with, and will continue to do so the rest of the year. Sitting out week 8 of the regular season games isn't going to make a difference in them suddenly being 100% healthy for week 9. As for other guys who've been out that may be close to being healthy, I doubt Bakh is an option just because he's only been practicing a week - him sitting tomorrow night isn't a reactive load management decision, it's part of their initial plan for getting him back on the field less than a year from tearing his ACL. P Smith could see action back on the field if he's healthy enough to go, but I doubt the sign Mercilous if they thought his oblique issue was a 1 game issue. King being out makes little difference to me - if he does suite up we all know who's getting picked on in the secondary. My hope with MVS is he was held out this past Sunday to give him a few extra days to get his conditioning back, and he's going to be on the field tomorrow - it would be valuable getting a deep threat on the field to keep the Cards defense sort of honest. Even if the Packers had their full compliment of wideouts for Thursday, their gameplan should be more run-heavy against this defense to help control time of possession and open up the middle of the field for passing to tight ends.
  19. Thursday night games are so random to begin with - although I will say it seems like the road team in those contests seems to be at a decided disadvantage with having to travel on that short week even if they are healthy and considered the favorite. Would be great for MVS to be able to go, but if not you just roll with heavier TE/RB packages on offense. No way do you just punt on a football game before opening kickoff - you at least see how the game unfolds and if it's a laugher early in the 2nd half then you can consider calling off the dogs and throwing Rodgers a clipboard. Truth is with rosters as limited as they are on gameday it's tough to sit a big chunk of starters anyway, which could also wind up leading to fatigue/injury. I still see this as a contested game the Packers can win.
  20. Borat would totally dig Wiemer... Wa wa wiemer!
  21. They don't know yet if he has tested positive or was just in close contact with someone who has. They have confirmed that Adams is fully vaccinated, so he just has to have two negative tests this week in order to play on Thursday night. He tested positive, based on numerous sources. Pretty sure just being a close contact for someone who is considered to be fully vaccinated isn't grounds alone to get put on that list, although that might warrant the need for him to take a test and find out he was asymptomatic positive. no way Corbin Burnes wins the Cy Young now
