  1. Bruce Froemming is brutal ------------------------
  2. is it me, or is this guy's strike zone rediculously inconsistent? ---------------------
  3. 3 up, 3 down for TBow would hopefully lead to not having to face Lee/Ramirez until tomorrow. ------------------
  4. Get some runs!! ----------------------
  5. After putting put a 5 spot in the first inning, looks like the Brewers O decided to head out to wrigleyville a bit too early - they have to tack some runs on before this is said and done. --------------------
  6. Someone tell the Brewers lineup that it's ok to score some more runs before this game is over -----------------------
  7. I really enjoyed that 1/2 inning - here's to hopefully enjoying the next 8 1/2! c'mon YO!! Don't even give 'em a chance! ------------------
  8. Not only do I want win this series, I want to send all of wrigleyville back to counseling ---------------------------
  9. Let's play some baseball! ----------------------------
  10. Once Wheeler leaves the game, exactly who would you put in to pitch in the Astros Bullpen if you were Phil Garner...Brewers have to win this game, no matter how long it takes ---------------------
  11. Is there still a possibility of Capuano going on Sunday? Otherwise, it's gonna be Claudio -----------------------
  12. wasn't crushed, but Loretta made a good play on it Bill Hall just had a great AB, tried yanking pitches on the outside corner down the left field line again -----------------------
  13. Hey Derek, they're going to stand there with the bat on their shoulder until you pump 2 strikes in there how about you throw strikes? edit: wow, Luke Scott - thanks for helping us out! -------------------
  14. well that 1/2 inning was pathetic ------------
  15. nasty 3-2 changeup there by Wise C'mon Matty! One more out and let's get to that Astros bullpen! --------------------
  16. I'd rather discuss why the Brewers haven't been able to score more than 3 runs off Woody Williams than how Suppan could have given up 3 over 6 to the Astros. -------------------------
  17. I'll take 3 runs over 6 innings from Suppan anytime - he wasn't signed to all of a sudden dominate games, he's not that type of pitcher. If the Crew got a big hit in some of their own innings, they'd be up 5 or 6-3 right now. Wake up, bats! -----------------------
  18. Zambrano won't be pitching this weekend, last I checked there's also the pending vacation d.lee will be taking from the team in the near future. As long as the Brewers take care of their business, it's going to be very difficult for the Cubs to catch them - The Cubs would have to exceed whatever Milwaukee does by at least 8 games just to catch them.
  19. He basically bellyflopped onto second base, and his momentum carried him headlong into loretta's shin --------------------------
  20. Please Prince, don't ever slide like that into second again - he's lucky he didn't hurt himself -------------------
  21. If Cappy comes back healthy and pitches well, and Gallardo gets moved into Capellan/Spurling's role in the pen, that's basically the same as adding a solid reliever via trade anyway. If anything, Milwaukee could use another/different left handed reliever that can do a bit more than occasionally get a left handed hitter to line out to center. --------------------------
  22. What makes this dead trade interesting is that the reason it died was because the Trib refused to pay any part of Jones' remaining salary - that pretty much means that the Cubs are not going to have an easy time of unloading him, since he's still owed 7 million dollars through next year...and he's brutal. This also shows how difficult it's going to be for the Cubs to make any significant trades to improve their roster this year. They'd have to find a team willing to take on ALL of a player's contract in order to swing a deal, and the player they get in return has to either have no guaranteed money for 08, or be set to make less in future years than the player they're trading away was.
  23. If the source to this rumor is from the Chicago Sun Times, I really have to question the context they got it from - also, I would really doubt that the Cubs would be able to give Cincinnati a package of players they would want in order to complete the trade. I would think any deal involving Griffey to the Cubs would have to include Carlos Marmol + others, and the Cubs would be foolish to deal him. Then again, they are the Cubs. Realistically, teams like the Dodgers, Angels, and Dbacks would be able to offer better prospects to Cincinnati in a trade - since they're all outside of the division, I would think Cincy would rather deal him there. -----------------------
  24. I'm not saying the Cubs are loaded top to bottom with talent - All I'm saying is that a team that has D. Lee, Soriano, and Ramirez playing every day is talented. I should have left "full" off my last post - aside from those three, the rest of their position player roster is full of middling veterans and low ceiling young players. The exception would be Felix Pie - he's probably up at least 1 year earlier than he should be, but his overall talent is great. Defensively he's already a plus CF, but if the Cubs don't watch out they could very well create another Corey Patterson at the plate. The talent that they do have is indeed in disarray for the very reasons you mentioned in your last post - D. Lee's impending suspension, Soriano batting leadoff, and Aram's uncertain timetable due to his knee injury. -------------------------
