  1. it's weird that I think it'd be a big plus if this game is still a 1 score ballgame at half with the Raiders getting the ball to open the 2nd half...but that's where we are right now, unfortunately. Just nothing even threatening downfield because I don't think they trust their line to pass block long enough against Crosby and a bunch of guys.
  2. Again...1st and 10, off tackle run to the left, please?
  3. You could say that just about every week...they just aren't nearly good enough in the middle of the field to make impactful plays
  4. Great play by Douglas there...make another play and get off the field
  5. I think it's because the Packers coverage unit bails out so far in soft man on those 3rd and longs that there's nobody for the first 5 yards to even try and make a tackle or get blocked.
  6. Getting Campbell back would be nice, too....McDuffie does a good job of getting lost in the line of scrimmage
  7. can they just line up and run off tackle behind Walker and Jenkins a time or two? Is that too much to ask to lean on the weak side of the Raider D line and pick up 4-6 yards on 1st down??
  8. with MLF, it seems like there might be one good, somewhat innovative play that works, then after he sees that he instantly digs even deeper into the playbook feeling lucky and dials one up that even he didn't have at the top of the playsheet.
  9. This needs to be a game the Packer defense dominates and generates a few turnovers
  10. Yeah, I've seen more bad than good from him - I want Tom over at LT and then see if Walker or Nijman can play RT
  11. Carlson making those training camp concerns about a FG kicker a distant memory to start the year.
  12. I swear to God, if MLF has a sheet of plays to run when they're on the fringe of the red zone, he's got to burn it....that endaround/whatever it was to Watson just shot themselves right in the foot again.
  13. Sounds like Aaron Jones is out again tonight🤬
  14. The 49ers' roster has also been bolstered by getting extra draft picks after losing minority assistant coaches/front office people to other teams via a Rooney Rule update in 2020...I'm not sure I really like that formula but it is what it is. They get multiple years of compensatory 3rd and 5th round picks 2-3 years in a row for Saleh, Ryan, Carthon, and McDaniel leaving frisco. If the 49ers are going to win a Super Bowl, it should be this year - they're built for it right now assuming Purdy continues to be an effective distributor of the ball and they don't put too much on him. Not only does the salary gymnastics start hitting them this coming offseason, they're also going to be getting a little on the old side.
  15. I've long thought the solution to this, which would put much more value on how a team performs over a 162-game marathon regular season, is to expand MLB to include 2 more teams (Nashville, Charlotte) shift both leagues to 4- four team divisions and then have those winners play best of 7 series in the divisional and LCS rounds. NL East - Mets, Phillies, nationals, Piraes NL South - Marlins, Braves. Cards. Nashville NL Central - Brewers, Cubs, Reds, Rockies NL West - Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Dbacks AL East - Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles, Blue Jays AL South - Rays, Charlotte, KC, Astros AL Central - Twins, Tigers, Cleveland, White Sox AL West - Rangers, Mariners, Angels, A's 3 wildcards on top of 3 division winners per league had made regular season success and playoff seeding meaningless with how random baseball in October can be.
  16. I dunno - with MN's schedule, a 1-4 start, and now with Jefferson potentially missing some time with a hamstring injury I don't see that team finishing 0.500 this year
  17. ah...forgot about that...thanks!
  18. Dallas isn't winning the NFC east (still have lions, dolphins, bills, eagles twice, seahawks, LAR, and Chargers on their schedule), and I think the two wild cards in the NFC are very likely to be Seattle and the 2nd place NFC South or North team. I think they could squeak in the playoffs but I don't think they're very good, to be honest. Pittsburgh does suck but that division is always weird...assuming Cincy finally gets things together I don't think the Steelers have enough offense to be a legitimate playoff team. 49ers have an extended stretch of consistently tough opponents/environments over the next two months...If they are a total juggernaut they could actually do the Packers alot of favors in terms of keeping teams like the Vikings, Seahawks, and LAR down in the wildcard standings.
  19. My point is, it's early - and they've played great against 5 teams so far this season that have a better chance at all missing the playoffs entirely than two of them making the postseason.
  20. Still a looooong ways to go until winning time in the playoffs, and weaknesses show up in a big hurry with a few key injuries. Yes, the 49ers appear to be the best team in the NFC right now - but Philly and perhaps even Detroit probably could make solid cases to the otherwise. If the 49ers stay healthy on defense, Kittle stays healthy, and McCaffrey doesn't suffer his annual injury that causes him to be a shell of his healthy self for a few months, then I'd expect them to be the favorite to reach the Super Bowl. It's also tough to make out what the Cowboys actually are (3-1 with wins against both putrid NY teams and the lowly pats, with a loss to the Cards), and besides them the 49ers haven't exactly played anyone worth a darn yet this season.
  21. Burnes won the Cy young in 2021, and has not been in the conversation for that award in either of the past two seasons because he hasn't been consistently dominant since. I think the Brewers will get a haul for him from somebody for 1 year of control for a really good starting pitcher...but Cy Burnes he is not anymore.
  22. I don't think the Gophers are any good...but it's a blessing that Bucky doesn't have Michigan on their schedule until a potential big ten title game matchup. That team is crazy loaded, to the point they seem to sleepwalk through the game and still have backups playing in the 4th quarter each week.
  23. Yes, he sucks at it...seems like it takes a full two seconds for the ball to get to the qb
  24. Would be nice if the Badgers found a way to get receivers in their program that could catch the football...and a quarterback that had any sort of accuracy, too.
  25. Regarding Polanco, isn't he a FA this offseason? NM...club options I see, but yeah those options may be pricey enough for the Twins to either try dealing him or just decline his option.
