  1. Looking at this lineup makes me realize that I'm bound to see a "Sunday/JV/giveup lineup" when we go on Sunday. So I have a day and a half to mentally prepare for Nieves and Kotsay. Oh, well. Go Brewers.
  2. That's why the S.O. and I don't observe Valentine's Day. It's about midway between our birthdays and neither of us sees the point in coming up with another celebration. Fortunately we have the same take on the issue.
  3. In addition to the link posted by 1992casey, we took the tour in 2007 (the Red Sox were on the road) and did not have to make an advance reservation. I think we did have maybe 40 minutes to kill before the next available tour, but we spent that time walking around the park and looking around in their large gift shop. I don't remember if my tour photos included any menu signs, which would at least indicate the prices in 2007. If I find some I'll post them here or on Facebook.
  4. So you probably don't want to know that the library's weather radio just sounded the alarm for another severe thunderstorm watch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  5. Plus I thought he was the "long relief" guy. I'm afraid I was stunned to get back to the box score and behold the 8-spot. My goodness.
  6. Just catching up on the video highlights; I don't know if I'm more impressed by Rickie's throw or Prince catching it and staying enough on the bag to get the out.
  7. I'm sure he'll give it back as long as he gets Prince's bat signed by the entire team, half of Prince's next contract, five game[/url] balls and a season tickets for life. Maybe he'll insist that Prince remain a Brewer. I don't know whether to put this in blue.
  8. Everything's comin' up ninja33! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Here's hoping the Brewers stay ahead to keep your day going good. Also, I took a photo of the 8-0 on the scoreboard last night with the specific intent of posting it on Facebook later with the caption "Is this real life?" Great minds think alike.
  9. There's a US Cellular ad blocking my view of the score on Gameday, and I can't for the life of me find where to close the dagnabbed thing. Since I can still see the scoring plays, however, woot, Yuni. And Nieves even got a hit. This is bizarro game.
  10. There are too many interruptions here for me to really be able to listen to Gameday Audio, but peeking at Gameday and seeing 5-3, then peeking again like a minute later and seeing 5-5 is very nice.
  11. Their starting lineup last night had five of nine guys hitting under the Uecker line. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  12. Another good night to be at the ballpark. We saw our ticket rep working the season ticket window, said hi and walked away with an unsolicited complimentary seat upgrade, from 417 to 125. Everyone give it up for Nate Hardwick! The only hassle was that seemingly everyone in the front half of 124 felt the need to spend like half the game standing and blocking our view. Still, it was fun to watch from a new angle, and no one was killed by a line drive (though a 9th inning foul did hit the seat in front of me). I like Shaun Marcum, though I'm not sure why he ran out of gas so abruptly. When the guys in 124 weren't standing, we had a fine view of third base plays and pickoff attempts. I felt bad for a guy in an old-school Padres jersey who looked so down early in the game after yet another SD lame at-bat. And I have decided that I like New Noise accompanying John Axford. I think they tweaked the edit of the song for the better since its first play. The roof was open and we only began to get chilly toward the end of the game. The fans left Ryan Ludwick alone. The Brewers are now 6-2 in games we have attended in 2011. I don't know how long that will last, but I'll take it.
  13. *raising hand* Barring any last minute change to the starting pitcher, after tonight I'll have seen each of the Brewers' starters at least once. Not bad for earlyish May. I am looking forward to seeing Marcum in person.
  14. Nice night. The LF bleacher fans were really letting Ryan Ludwick have it. He didn't help his cause by losing that ball hit by Gomez early on. I also heard at least one chorus of "Happy Birthday" sung to Prince. Otherwise, I thought the crowd as a whole was appreciative, but hardly electric. Barely 27,000 for Greinke Night? Come on. Did anyone think we'd have reason to exclaim, happily, over Yuni flashing the leather? I admit, I did not. In the immediate aftermath of that double play, though, had someone offered me a Betancourt shirsey, I might well have accepted. Since we forgot that today was too late to exchange our Tuesday tickets forward, we'll probably go Tuesday and finally see Marcum pitch. So I'm happy about that.
  15. Nope. Never threw a no-hitter. I threw 8 innings with 1 hit once, but that's it. So similar to Gallardo yesterday. So you are Jaime Navarro? Dude, I wish you had only done that first stint with the Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. I'm just happy to see Carlos batting 8th again. Baby steps for Trip-R?
  17. Maybe he was fooled by that surprising catch Kotsay made during Saturday's game? I saw that on TV and said, there's his season highlight, but by that I meant that he had likely peaked.
  18. Not to pile on, but my first thought upon reading the subject line was "some game when Jaime Navarro didn't get a hit," which shouldn't be too rare. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. As a fan of competent defense, I like Carlos. I like him better batting 8th and would like to dream that yesterday's game sent RRR a message.
  20. Perhaps, but if you have a Mench-sized head, it makes a lot more sense to get the 39/30 Large/XL than to roll the dice on a fitted cap. This is not my personal experience, but is the case for my S.O.
  21. http://blog.pdus2go.com/files/2011/04/Stop-the-Madness1.jpg Stop losing!
  22. Yeah, I was going to say, slap a cc: on this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. If Jaime finishes this off, it would be STL's first no-hitter since 2001. What a long regional nightmare the cardinal nation has suffered through.
