  1. Well, there you go. April 1 is now Trade Manny Parra Day in the bf.net universe. So it is written, so shall it be done.
  2. The annual change-in-concession-prices blog post from JSOnline. Details follow:
  3. This thread was originally used for opening day 2009, which I think did have a 3:00 start time. I'll edit the subject line to make things a little clearer.
  4. I'm told that the Braves' departure from Milwaukee in 1965 (and the subsequent absence of baseball in Milwaukee for the 1966-1969 seasons) turned my father against baseball for the rest of his life, which in turn might help explain how I didn't get interested until age 16. The lack of Milwaukee baseball in those late 1960s years also contributed to my S.O. growing up a Cubs fan. He was 8 when the Braves left and 13 when the Brewers arrived - pretty significant formative years for a boy's baseball interests. Fortunately, I came along to save him, and he is now fully converted. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. If Google can be trusted (and when could it be otherwise?), that would be at the Village Green in Middleton.
  6. Enunciate enough to remove all doubt that fans could be saying "Soooouuuuuuup"? I myself fall more on panthernick's side and would prefer to be extra enthusiastic when Narveson pitches. However, there is no need to revive the booing issue.
  7. Yeah, right here...so I'm going to lock this thread.
  8. This sign is a few blocks from our house: http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs474.snc3/25977_1388055267127_1404434242_1016896_835265_n.jpg
  9. Those are pretty good. Prince's is probably my favorite too - really nice touch, having him straighten out the framed photo - but I also like the punchline on Yovani's.
  10. http://mms.businesswire.com/bwapps/mediaserver/ViewMedia?mgid=210957&vid=4
  11. The voucher has been claimed.
  12. How on earth did you score all that, casey?
  13. At last year's last game, we got a voucher for a free loge ticket to one of four low-profile April games: Tuesday the 6th, Wednesday the 7th, Monday the 26th or Tuesday the 27th. Our season tickets take up two of these games already and coming from where we live, we don't have the time to tack on an additional game in either series. Send me a PM if you'd like the voucher. I only ask that you plan to use it for yourself. Thanks.
  14. That's awesome. You've raised him right!
  15. Wow. For some reason I did not imagine a navy/blue background for the plates. They look nice, though, and I especially like the uniform-appropriate fonts used for "Milwaukee Brewers." Patrick425, I think the Packer application asks for your contact information in case they have to ask you for a "fourth choice" in personalization; the Brewer application will probably follow suit. I don't know if the same personalized phrase can be used on different style plates, though if anyone uses a Brewers plate for something like a Favre message, part of me would be tempted to key their vehicle.
  16. Yeah, tip of the propeller beanie to sgt. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  17. tomwopat was posting directly from the festivities. We had a modest but high quality turnout. The back room at Fourth Base was perfect for our group, despite the large Pujols jersey mounted on the wall. At least 33% of the group had smartphones. Thanks to everyone who was able to come, and to Jamie for scoring the fine venue.
  18. The hawing party probably can't stay until bar time or anything, but we should still be there until the sgt. ewizabeff appearance.
  19. I'm glad the original post was made (as it's how I learned of the bridge closure, since I don't live in Milwaukee), but let's please leave politics out of this thread. Thanks.
  20. Tip of the cap to Pius XI...but Lady Popes? It's surprising enough that the Catholic Church doesn't mind a team being called the Popes (instead of insisting that there's only one pope and he is not in Milwaukee), but you'd think "Lady Popes" as a nickname would be right out. Oh, bensheeps, I think the whole of the Monroe faithful thought they were there once they finally got up by 3. However, no one can say they lacked chances.
  21. pretendastronaut's alma mater (Black Hawk) is playing for a D-4 ball on Saturday. I'm off to the Kohl Center shortly, for what I hope is a fun day of girls' hoops. Edit: Dang it.
  22. OK. Still...let's drag the adjustment period as far into the regular season as possible, shall we? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  23. Per Witrado on the JSOnline blog, Corey "recently got contact lenses to help his vision." So maybe the glasses/goggles are out the window instead?
  24. Yeah, you guys are making me nervous about Friday afternoon.
