  1. It's not original, but it's not difficult (and it's not mandatory). Let's pass the off-day with some Simpsons quotes. Why must life be so hard? Why must I fail at every attempt at masonry?
  2. I find a small silver lining when I see that people actually still want to post to this thread.
  3. I've notified Yuku of the intermittent problem.
  4. I just got in (10:59) without the same problem message as before. Not sure what to tell you.
  5. Yeah, I do see the same thing now, in my first attempt to get in tonight. Edit: I've sent a message to the Yuku person who's helped us with other early bugs. Might not be resolved in time for tonight's game, but then again, that seems to be going down the tubes anyway.
  6. Reaching the chat is something of a dice roll for me too, if that's any comfort. The most consistent success I've had has been with IE, much as it pains me to say so.
  7. Let's treat this like we do rally caps/relief italics/anti-cub rally bold in the chat room: Feel free to supply haikus tonight, but it's not a requirement. Having said that...suppose Cappy puts in 7-8 solid innings and the bullpen melts down again? That shouldn't be Cap's "last chance." I'm as eager as anyone for the Brewers to win a Cappy start (better yet if Cap is the winner of record), but he has had some "good enough to win" outings this year that were dashed by factors he couldn't control. Rockies' mascot is a dinosaur named Dinger. That's worse than Bernie.
  8. Wall calendar says Cappy is Mr. August Prove it, Chris. Tonight. Are we desperate Enough to try haiku night? I guess time will tell.
  9. http://is2.okcupid.com/users/168/570/16957172787179881552/mt1129991987.jpg Guy Smiley. And here's a potential avatar! My only other advice is to not choose a really long screen name.
  10. If the Brewers ever overtly blow off any customer service concern I have upon hearing that we're ("only") 20 game ticket holders, or because we have terrace level seats, I'd be strongly inclined to either go straight to Mark Attanasio or sever our long-standing relationship with the organization. That the reception you got from that employee changed because of how much money you spend on the Brewers infuriates me, and I am not quickly angered. If anyone from the Brewers is reading this, please remember that not all of your fan base is so flush with discretionary income or lives so close to Milwaukee that they can afford full season tickets - whether monetarily, time-wise, or both. For almost fifteen years, we have put the lion's share of our entertainment budget toward the Brewers, and have invested countless hours not only attending games but making a 3 hour round trip for each and every one. It's fewer games than other fans can attend, but it is all we can fit into our lives (and, sometimes, possibly more than we should). Our ticket rep has never made me feel second class, which makes me all the more surprised and distressed at the response you received. Brewers employees, don't ever marginalize the loyalty of your smaller-time customers. Many of them give all that they can to your organization.
  11. http://www.centexhomesnorcal.net/arf/images/logo_fiftyone.gif Believe it or not...
  12. Corey's married with three kids, at age 25. An early-season episode of "Brewers Str8up" showed his wife and at least some of his kids.
  13. Scott Linebrink's Sunday performance took away some of the sting of losing those prospects.
  14. Nice to know the folks at the four-letter network are allll on top of things. Welcome, marquettefan13. It's always good to see other female posters. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif (and let's go Mets)
  15. It's the annual game for my (now 7 year old) nephew. Don't let him down, Brewers! (If wOOgiE or Sgt have graphics to add, feel free to replace this.)
  16. The thing I miss most about County Stadium is the grass. As a kid, it was the greenest grass I had ever seen. The grass at Miller Park cannot hold a candle to the grass at County Stadium. I also miss the scoreboard at County Stadium. TracyThom is spot on about the impossibly green grass at County. Even after years of attending games there, a little part of me would thrill just upon catching sight of it. This seems to always be mentioned when a County Stadium nostalgia thread develops, and with good reason. Also (shameless plug), the Braves/Brewers exhibit at the Wisconsin Historical Museum includes a few artifacts from County: the microphone used by Earl Gillespie during the 1957 season (y'all know how that turned out) and a piece of the pre-1980s scoreboard, the part that says AT BAT. For some reason, the latter piece just fascinates me, even though I never saw the early scoreboard in person. (/shameless plug/) Getting back to razzzor's original post...I agree with JimH5 on getting Brewers staff assistance when the seat on your ticket is being used by someone else. The Brewers keep displaying on the videoboard that they want you to get the full value of your investment - call them on it. I also wouldn't hesitate to contact the Brewers over poor employee conduct, and in fact have done so several times over the years. I like emailing because it gives me time to create a level-headed statement, instead of ranting over the phone (which I'm sure is never what JimH5 does); plus I have a written record of what I said, and a written record of the response. I have always received at least one response to the comments I've sent. And to show I comment from both sides, I've sent compliments along as well.

  18. there was serious talk about closing the terrace level for some games I remember that. We wondered if we would be relocated from our terrace season ticket section, and if so whether the Brewers would charge us more or just give us a crappy new location. Obviously, it never came to pass.
  19. Just so people know FTJ and hawing aren't crazy Everyone knows I'm not crazy.
  20. I shouldn't be upset when the Brewers lose because they "suck" according to him Seriously, an usher told you this? I'll bet the front office would love to know they've got employees telling customers that. C'mon back, folks! I'm in the camp that misses County Stadium too. My grandparents and mom used to go, and after my grandfather died we realized his seats were in the same section as our partial-season tickets. Miller Park is gradually growing on me, but I guess wherever the Brewers call home will always be important to me.
  21. The Brewers should surpass the 2 million attendance mark tonight, in their 58th home game of the year. The only year they hit 2 million more quickly (in the Miller Park era) was 2001, when they reached 2 million in the 57th home game.
  22. http://msn.foxsports.com/id/6454912_36_1.jpg Looking forward to your return.
  23. The Muzak system at work is playing Corey Hart's "Never Surrender".......and I won't. Ever. Amen to that! Earlier this season I heard that classic at Woodman's West. It was the best part of my shopping trip.
