  1. W! O! R-D! Up!
  2. Hey, Brewers, this is so within reach. You know you're capable, so why not keep up the good work Friday night?
  3. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/2005/05/01/P36BDYRa.jpg OOOOOOOO! Note he's sporting that chin bandage. He hit so well with his chin bandaged, my S.O. used to say he should wear the bandage all the time.
  4. Yeah, I'm in the chat and I post every time someone else enters/tries to enter. I'm assuming I'm the only one who can see my posts, though. Or else, you all dislike me that much. Edit: I was able to communicate via private message. Not that that's ideal or anything. I'm sorry, guys. I am pretty sure Brian didn't ask me to be chat room director for my software diagnostic skills.
  5. I haven't heard anything about this, but did anyone else read the initial post and think of brewerjamie15? http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif
  6. Once again, blingster, excellent photo choices. Check out those 'Stro-bows! http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif So - Brewers - one thing: Don't let up. Thanks! (also let's go Bucs & Dodgers)
  7. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_150037.jpg My lord, he's got a large face. But whatever, I'm open to another bullpen option. Also, I'm not sure I'd mind his eating Greg Aquino. There, I said it.
  8. What could be a more ideal picture after tonight's game? Nice, blingster (and jaybird). But I'll still contribute with my man J-Bo (Jason Bohannon)... http://www.uwbadgers.com/photos/5404_2.jpg
  9. The month of September bugs me at work. With the new academic year about to begin, I've had to hire a new set of student employees (replacing five out of nine, actually, which could be worse but could be better) and none of them was available for training until the first week of classes. So I have to spend this week on their orientation and employment forms (the forms are necessary for the returning employees too) while somehow also providing regular services to the public. It's ultimately time well spent, and I do enjoy getting to know my new staff. But the training itself is very tiring - explaining everything you do, for hours on end, including some things that aren't immediately happening but the employees have to be prepared for them (like emergency procedures) - and it really takes a toll on my voice, which has never been very strong to begin with. It's going to be a lemon ice kind of week. The training burden would often be less from year to year, but I'm limited to hiring students whose financial aid includes work-study funding (since the feds pay half their wages and my puny budget thus goes twice as far). I had to say 'no thanks' to some employees from last year because their financial situation improved enough so they weren't eligible for the award anymore.
  10. My work history won't rival anyone's here in either the dirty or 'generally crappy' departments. Still, I'll join in. My first paying job was as an assistant at the local public library. Cue foreshadowing. I started about a month after game 7 of the 1982 World Series. I had two crappy summer "home from college" jobs, both in Monroe: one packaging bakery at Swiss Colony (came home every night smelling like chocolate flavored confection, which becomes cloying faster than you'd think) and one at a factory assembling little bits of speakers, before they went on to become bigger bits of speakers. The dirtiest job I've had was actually at my current place of employment. When I was a college student I was sometimes assigned to the stacks. One week another student and I were assigned the task of shifting and shelfreading our oldest oversize books. Leather bindings deteriorate over time and just touching them will leave what we in the biz call "red rot" (sometimes red, sometimes black) on your person and/or clothing. It washes off/out readily, but until you get to a sink it's kind of gross. My hands have never been so black as they got during that project. Still, nothing like what some of you have experienced - and I'm grateful for that.
  11. Oooh, Black Bear! Could you pick me up a Black Cherry?
  12. Keep up the good work, Brewers! You reawakened my hope, and the least you could do is to follow through on said hope. (Also...let's go Bucs, and more power to the Dodgers.)
  13. http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/badger/img/jan04/clay110.jpg The pride of Reedsburg, Clayton Hanson!
  14. http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/891/45037146.JPG
  15. I'll definitely take a low-drama game tonight. And the Brewers are above .500 again.
  16. Nicely played, uecker9. I can't believe I recognized that so quickly.
  17. I have a Branyan autographed ball right next to my monitor here. Got it at the On Deck event in April. Russell, I'm sorry I won't be able to root for you while you're with this team. But at your 2007 pace, that shouldn't be long. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif
  18. http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/sports/brew/img/may04/sheets516.jpg Not imaginative, but still high-quality. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif
  19. Not sure what to tell you, molitor fan. Several posters are in the chat now and it is functioning as well as it ever has. (Take that how you will.) I have been limited this evening to IE to make it work. I'd consider switching back to firefox but I don't want to get locked out again.
  20. Things are working as of 8:00 PM CDT Friday night. Ransom identified a problem in the profanity filter, which perhaps explained how all posts looked like cussing.
  21. That is exactly my experience. Only IE works and then others' posts (including ransom's) look like we're all cussing up a storm. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif Ransom is on the case, though. Meanwhile, feel free to visit the IGT!
  22. I don't think it's your account, Sgt. I just tried and was met with a bunch of Test Module entries, then the "username does not exist" message, then "Room name error", then finally a bizarre Spanish-language chat which is not Brewers related. I believe I'm still in that chat now. I've sent a message reporting the problem to Ransom, our yuku troubleshooter. Keep your fingers crossed.
  23. The players given up by the Cubs are Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore. Here's a clickable link. I know I'll always remember Rocky fondly for his performance in that extra inning game in Wrigley in April.
  24. The baseballamerica.com website has menu choices for Print Edition and Reprints - both of which seem to lead only to the subscribe page. But there's also a Contact Us page with a variety of email contacts. I don't know if the Reprints would be for whole issues or indivdual articles, but if worse comes to worst it may be worth asking.
  25. http://www.qualitycards.com/pictures/60053717.jpg Dave Jolly, Milwaukee Braves (including 1957). Love the Color TV format.
