  1. Yup. Only guy to hit over .300 with 2 strikes. Of course he rarely struck out. He was up there to slap the ball. That's not even a taught skill anymore.
  2. Aaron Judge hits .206 with 2 strikes, and he's the best offensive player in the league.
  3. Injury prevention or managing fatigue? These dudes are conditioned to work to a certain workload. We can say all we like that there's no difference between 10 pitches and 30 pitches, but there definitely is if you're conditioned to a certain workload.
  4. Nice breakdown. It's often a fallacy of trade proposals that we don't look at a trade from the opposing team"s POV but this breaks down nicely why this is a decent deal for the Twins. Losing Adames is going to suck, but there's no reason we can't prepare appropriately for a future without him.
  5. I know it sucks when the offense goes through a rough patch.... but all teams have these in 162 games. They are still 3rd in the NL in runs scored.
  6. Not just making the last out of an inning at 3rd, but the last out of the game. What the actual heck. That's a pretty big bonehead move.
  7. They're 6-4 in their last 10. There's 22 games left and they have a 9.5 game lead. Goodness.
  8. If you ask, in a game thread, during a game the Brewers are losing, the answer will most likely be resoundingly "no". It's been a fun as heck season with a much more dynamic offense than they had last year, and we're on the cusp of a division championship. If you value the journey as much as the destination, then yes.
  9. Why? I mean.... not being sarcastic, but why? His fip the last 5 years is like 2.50. His ERA for his career is *under* 2. Nobody hits him. It's easy for us to say "he should develop another pitch because it's nerve wracking watching him!" The results are what they are. He isn't suffering the normal volatility good and mediocre relievers go through. He's dominant. The flip side of this is I don't want the guy fiddling around with new pitches and messing up his delivery, when he's clearly right now one of the most dominant relievers in baseball.
  10. He might be fatigued. But he has always had problems controlling the change. It is what it is. I trust him to tell Murph if he really needs a day. I'd be shocked if they didn't go to Megill or Payamps in a save situation tomorrow.
  11. Williams walks a lot of guys. He always has and always will. 4.3 w/9 per his career. Take the good with the bad. Dude's dominant. One tv guy (who's a clown) says he needs a 3rd pitch and the guy has been outlandishly dominant for 5 years. He's fine.
  12. He's been pretty successful, all things told.
  13. Braun was a drafted college guy. Chourio was a signed international guy who was like 17 when they signed him.
  14. Dude hit the ball off his hands. That thing wasn't going anywhere.
  15. I get it. I don't even disagree. But that's not how these guys are being coached from little leagues all the way up. It's not aesthetically pleasing, but it's not going to change. Big hacks, with emphasis on exit velo, launch angle etc, etc, etc. Putting the ball in play at the expense of exit velo (even with 2 strikes) is done.
  16. That's not how baseball is played anymore.
  17. Bad bunt but speed puts pressure on the defense.
  18. I was thinking the same thing on the replay. C'mon Jake, go out there and get that ball.
  19. I mean...... I know people don't care that Adames does it because he's *our* guy but I feel like people are just mad because it was a Reds guy that did it. Some of Willy's home run pimps/bat tosses are wildly over the top.
  20. C'mon man... Adames does this every time he hits a tank, and it's cool. Who cares?
  21. Perkins is like Lo Cain, except without the old man hobble.
  22. Listening to these chuckleheads say Chourio wrong after being corrected by Myers is outlandishly annoying.
  23. I'm already close to punching my tv because of this.
