  1. Daron was just talking about Yost telling Hardy and Weeks that they will be getting days off to get Hall into the lineup. What about the .192 hitting Brady Clark? It's not like Hall can't play CF.
  2. Just so there's *some* sort of a downer in this thread...... Jenks really stunk it up today! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. That was the rest of the known world scrambling to their computers to add free agent pitcher Dave Bush to their fantasy rosters. I'm happy I chose him in the 25th round in one of my drafts. I took him in the 18th round. I almost didn't start him today against this Reds lineup. But I did. Good call me!
  4. Ralph, I think everyone hears you. I somewhat agreed with you when you were griping about the negativity in here, but when you bring it up EVERYTIME the Brewers do something decent, it gets really old. Be the bigger person.
  5. A week ago people were calling for more Moeller, now Miller has a .957 OPS. Weird how those numbers can flip flop early in the season.
  6. 30% chance of rain, the roof will probably be closed.
  7. When is Weeks going to hit a HR? He's still holding me in suspense. That said, he's getting on base, so maybe I shouldn't complain. yeah, I'd like to see some SLG. out of the kid, but as long as he's getting on base and using his speed on the 'paths, I'm not gonna get too upset. We know he *can* hit for power, it's just a matter of when.
  8. I seem to recall (and I could be wrong) that a lot of posters said they'd be happy to be at .500 at the end of April. I don't see how that's still not a very attainable goal at this point, and the worst stretch of schedule is behind us. Yes, it would have been a heck of a lot nicer to play better than .333 ball against the Cards, Astros and Mets, but they'll get other chances to prove they can play with the big boys yet this year.
  9. Another hit with RISP.... And another....... 6 for 9.
  10. And god forbid this game goes to extra innings.... I have anything valuable bolted down for such an eventuality. After the last 3-4 games...........
  11. Wow, a GEM from Schroeder! "If you want to stay competitive in your division, you gotta stay away from long losing streaks" No kidding?!?!
  12. 4-7 with RISP tonight. I thought this team sucked in the clutch?! Just goes to show how this stuff can even out in a hurry.
  13. Whew. Man, I get nervous every time ANYTHING is hit to Rickie right now. Nice performance by Cappy tonight. Good deal getting 7 out of him after the bullpen was abused yesterday.
  14. I think people are hinging way too much emotional energy on single games so far this season. No cliches, but there's 162 of em fellas. Don't burn it all up in April.
  15. Be happy to put this park behind us. Tired of 320 foot pop flies dropping into that porch.
  16. How big is that PRINCE FIELDER ERROR now? Or how about the 12 OTHER runs the pitchers gave up?
  17. Man, Carlos is in Scoring Position when he's in the on-deck circle.
  18. I really hate watching games in this park. It's somewhat akin to watching beer league softball.
  19. I just want a big inning so Fernandez can pitch the 7th and 8th to get it to Turnbow. I wouldn't feel safe with a 6 run lead and Fernandez on the mound at this point.
  20. Can't really complain about the hitting with RISP tonight huh? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. AND, it bears mentioning (again) that those kings of K, the Boston Red Sox, led the American League in runs last year. And strikeouts. Go figure?
  22. Newsflash..you dont make the playoffs or contend by beating the pirates of the league and losing vs any team with a winning record. I don't think it matters who you beat, so long as the total comes up to 90 wins. Then you should be in. Winning teams win series because they're winning teams. That's pretty much a mathematical truth. If they got maybe 1 in in the 2nd i might be worried because it looks like they are gonna suck the whole year but to not get any in at all just makes it seem like a fluke.......i hope. 1 for 16 today with RISP, certainly seems to me like it'd be a fluke. I can't disagree with you on this one. All we can do is hope that the law of averages evens out and the Brewers start getting some of their hits when men are on base.
  23. It's pointless to argue here because there is a large faction of people here who can watch the Brewers continually strikeout with RISP and less than 2 outs and just assume that striking out is the same as hitting a fly ball or hitting the ball on the ground to the right side or somewhere up the middle. It's pointless to argue because there's also a large faction of posters here who assume that balls in play will automatically move runners over. A popup to the 2nd baseman does nothing. A fly out to the LF 50 feet off the dirt does nothing. A tapper to the mound does nothing. A soft liner to the SS does nothing. You know what they say about assumptions...........
  24. How should the argument be made? Should we just assume that EVERY time someone strikes out that if they had put the ball in play that they would have made two outs? That seems to be framing the argument incorrectly as well. Should we assume that every out on a ball in play moves runners over? That's as big a myth as the one that strikeouts are 80 times worse than other outs.
