  1. Cool! Got some nice seats thru work, via M&I Bank tonight. Sec 122, Row 5. Right behind the Reds dugout. GO CREW!!!
  2. Braun last year in May, and Gamel this year in September are completely different circumstances. Not even close. Plus Braun was ripping up AAA ball at the time. Gamel has only had a cup of coffee in AAA. See the numbers in that article Bankjob posted. So we should just completely gloss over that, and expect him to hit in the Majors, like it did in the first half against AA pitching? Gamel's time will come, but that time is not now. Well I don't think I would have a problem having Gamel in there the first 6-7 innings and then bringing Hall/Counsell in as a defensive replacement if the game is close. Course not. We're not the ones with their ass on the line if the guy boots a ball in the 3rd inning that opens the flood gates for a five run inning.
  3. How about a game ticket, hot dog, and soda for $10 per person...only $40 for that family of four for admission and food combined. Badger Mutual Insurance Family Days On Sunday home games, fans may purchase at least one day in advance a Terrace Reserved ticket, a hot dog and a small soda for $10. Compliments of Badger Mutual Insurance Company. Yes, I am aware of those deals.
  4. And Harden has elbow pain. Feel sorry for Cubs fan's. Talk about a great season about to go south. WOW! Well, I don't feel sorry for them one bit. But don't get me wrong, I won't let myself be happy about it, or rejoice in their loss. Bad karma.
  5. If I only went to one or two games a year, wouldn't be a problem. I'd probably be buying 2 or 3 beers, a couple brats and probably some peanuts. But not for the amount of games I am fortunate enough to be able to attend. I have to stretch my budget as it is, just to fit in the ticket price of our 20-game pack. Probably shouldn't even be doing that these days, but I do need some kind of entertainment besides TV. And on the times I would like to bring my daughter, there isn't much I can get for her, that I would even let her eat outside of the park. Think of a family of four. They bring in four bottles of water at probably $1 total cost, or buy them inside for what, $16? Add on some peanuts or something. Some famlies don't have the luxury of thowing $15 or more, down the drain on overpriced food. As each year goes by, all sports not just the Brewers and baseball, are pricing the average family right out of the park. I see this as one more step in that direction.
  6. I'm going to about 25 games this year, not including playoffs, and hope to be able to do the same next year. I simply can't afford to buy food or drink while I'm in the park or pay for parking, for all of those games. I had better be able to bring in my one bottle of water and my one granola bar, and if I bring my 2-year old daughter, I better be able to bring in an apple or a pear, and some watered-down juice, for her snack. Terrible idea. Brewers really need to rethink this.
  7. As much as I'd like to see the future at 3B right now, can't afford a game changing error by Gamel at this point in the season. Not even against the Pads or Reds. Those are teams they should sweep. I vote "no".
  8. How about when a recruiter keeps calling you, even after you tell them you are not interested in working with them?
  9. The problem is, who do you start at 1B then? I'd be fine with Rivera (vs.LHP) or Nelson (vs.RHP) there. I supposed Dillon could also do the job as well.
  10. He seems to me to be the kind of guy that will press when things aren't going well for him. And things aren't going well for him right now. Like he tries too hard if he isn't hitting like he thinks he should. He just needs a day off.
  11. Doesn't look good for those guys to the South. Due to "Karma" that's all I'm going to say. Hopefully Sheets doesn't follow Z right down the same road.
  12. They better include the option for pitchers to ride in from the bullpen on a hog. That WAS Milwaukee. Only change I would make to that, is having a hot Harley chick riding them in, instead of a guy.
  13. Heading out now, on my way to the game. GO CREW!!! And...Go Williams Sisters (US Open Tennis)!!
  14. Need your "A" game today Sheets. No excuses.
  15. Put me in the "it was not a hit" camp. And I do think they will overturn it.
  16. There are some prices in this thread: Playoff Ticket Deposit
  17. I remember the Nieves game very well. I was watching it in the basement while doing my homework or something. As the game went along I kept yelling up to my Dad, "still got a no-hitter going".
  18. Nope. As long as the Crew takes care of their own business, nothing else matters.
  19. Be careful in that area of town. It's not too bad, just be aware of your surroundings. You might also try Craig's List for some tickets.
  20. For me, the breaking point is when the casual fan says that Tony Gwynn Jr. should be playing every day I love that one. My friend continues to tell me that. Then I ask him if he watched the game recently. His answer is usually "no". He's probably watched a total of 10 games all year, if that. He must think just because his name is Gwynn, he'll be like his Dad. Frustrating.
  21. I think the system needs to be fixed by moving an NL central team to the AL west (the Astros make the most sense). Then there would be balance between the leagues, each team can play all the division opponents the same number of games with equal home/away, and each team can play the same number of interleague games. Would be nice, but that would be a scheduling nightmare. You would have to have one interleague series going on every day. Pretty much impossible.
  22. I believe Villy only started yelling, after Pujols opened his big mouth and threw F-bombs at him. I'm tired of this already. As far as I'm concerned, the entire "Cardinal Nation" can kiss my behind. Now bring on the Pirates!!
  23. I know, I know...you played high school football. Or......"Oh I forgot, you are the King of Madden Football, right?"
  24. I rather be around casual Brewer fans than "know-it-all" Packer fans. That's a good point. At least with a casual Brewer fan they will accept it if you correct/help them with their Brewer baseball or just general baseball knowledge. Try telling a "Packers-first fan" or worse yet, a "Favre-first fan", that it just might not have been all Ted Thompson's fault Brett is no longer up there. Oh boy...
