  1. imagine sitting at a live baseball game and not hearing any derogatory language toward anyone on the field. I enjoy those types of games. Those are the games don't mind taking my young daughter to. There are actually sections in the park where you don't hear some words.
  2. Yeah, we have enough Yost bashing threads already. Couldn't the condescending toward others rule be applied to Brewer personnel for at least in-game threads? I don't mean to complain, com'on guys, disagree if with him if you want, but can't we have at least 3 hours where we don't just flat out call Yost names.
  3. On second thought, yeah I agree with you.
  4. Com'on Manny, how about a nice 10-pitch inning.
  5. That would have been a perfect time to get kicked out of the game. Should have thrown the base. I think he needs to do that in one of these games. But tonight's probably not a good time as they are up 2-0. However, I don't know why they were stealing there in the first place.
  6. # 8 for the Crew. What else is there to say?
  7. Yeah. No runs, 2 K's, and only 4 reached base. Does anyone else think that's amazing? I do.
  8. That's a nice play. I can feel the tide turning for this team. I can feel it.
  9. Is it time to shake things up here yet? Post in pink? ¿?q??? u???? sp??????q pu? u?op ?p?sdn http://www.revfad.com/flip.html
  10. That's exactly what I've been telling myself and my ScRub fan boss.
  11. "I just disagree that the morale angle is or should be near the top of the list" Under normal circumstances, maybe, but these are not normal circumstances the players are dealing with right now. They are getting booed in their own park. People all around town are talking about how much they stink. Plus they know they're playing poorly. I don't know, if I were on the team, I would appreciate a little encouragement from somewhere.
  12. I have to side with "Brewer Killa" there. I'd rather have Yost encouraging them for the good things they're doing, over yelling at them for everything they're doing wrong right now. Especially in the dugout, where everyone can see.
  13. I'm not saying it's permanent. Like I said, just for a week or so. People want a shake up in the lineup, well I think that's a big shake up. To me, Weeks is the ony thing close to a leadoff hitter. Yes, Hart CAN do it, but I would rather him not HAVE to do it. The team as it is right now, needs Weeks leading off and doing well in that position. But a week of "mental rest", at least against RHP, might do him some good. Maybe that's what I should have called it. My "Mental Rest for a Week" Lineup. A week might seem like a long time, but I don't think giving a player one day off does much. Gwynn, I personally don't think he's any more than a 4th outfielder at best. If nothing else, it would at least show people he isn't an everyday player. But who knows, stranger things have happened. He might do well and someone might be willing to trade you for him. Also, I think the offense has been a major car wreck so far, I don't think there is space for any more dents. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. First, it's hard to make up a lineup for this team when there are so many holes up and down the order right now. This is not a permanent fix by any means, and I don't think changing the lineup around really does anything, but at this point what can it hurt. Try anything to get some new blood in the lineup. Right? So how about trying this for a week or so? vs. RHP: Counsell 2B Braun LF Fielder 1B Hart RF Branyan/Nelson 3B Hardy SS Gwynn/Iribarren CF Pitcher Kendall C Sit Weeks, Cameron, and Hall against RHP for awhile, and put in the left-handed bats. The Gwynn/Iribarren deal means, "insert your favorite here". Some like Gwynn, some don't. Those that don't, I gave you a non-Gwynn option. Same thing with the Branyan/Nelson deal. Pick your favorite. I really like Hart in a run-producing role, over a set-up role. I know Counsell isn't going to be a popular choice. He doesn't have the speed you'd like, he doesn't do this, he doesn't do that, but I don't see a lot of options. I suppose you could switch 1 and 7 around, but I choose to go with the veteran. vs. LHP: Weeks 2B Hardy SS Braun LF Fielder 1B Hart RF Hall 3B Cameron CF Pitcher Kendall C Nothing much different here as it turns out, but hitting against LHP doesn't seem to be a problem anyway. So, all I did was to flip Hardy and Cameron around. I do not think Hardy should be batting up there long-term. Maybe it was just the HR yesterday, but he seems to be doing OK lately. Weeks is the closest thing they have to a leadoff hitter and again, I like Hart in a run-producing role, over a set-up role. Putting Kendall leadoff or in the 2 spot is a lot to ask of a 34-year old catcher, whom you need to play a lot of games for you. At least I think so. I hate batting Hall and Cameron together because I envision a lot of back-to-back strikeouts, but where else can you put them? Man, it all makes me want to puke. With so many guys not producing up to their career numbers it's really, really difficult to find a lineup that works.
  15. I'd say the Brewers put expectations too high for two young players, Villy and Parra. Neither has ever pitched more than 150 innings or gone thru an entire season as a starter. The losses of Yo-yo (obviously) and Cappy (yes, I said Cappy) are really hurting this team.
  16. Well, you don't nessessarily have to "stop". You can start cheating, by moving towards second as you see the flight of the ball and how the outfielder is going after it.
  17. Who cares where the pitcher bats? That is the least of their problems with the offense. They don't have a true leadoff or #2 guy. Heck, they don't even have anyone right now that deserves to bat in the 1 or 2 spot. Kendall? Maybe, but that's asking a lot of a 34-year old catcher whom you need to catch a lot of games this year. Hardy? He's never going to have an OBP above .330 in his career. Maybe put those guys up there only as a temporary change to shake things up a bit, but they are not permanent answers. They have a few legitimate 3-4-5 types in Braun, Prince, and Hart. Then a bunch of 7 thru 9 hitters. I know that's generalizing a lot, but I don't think it's too far off. That is why I'm rooting like heck for Rickie to turn it around. He is the closest thing they have to a leadoff hitter and they NEED him. He can't keep hitting .200 for an entire year, he just can't.
  18. Add to that Prince's low power numbers, Braun being average at best before the last few weeks, and you have a lineup full of holes.
  19. I was contemplating not getting them next year but for reasons other than the play on the field. I hope I still can, where the team finishes this year will not factor into my decision.
  20. Braunie!! Hey, at least they have one player who isn't quitting. I think MA spent his money wisely on that guy. What'da'ya think? Update: Prince, that kind of makes up for your error.
  21. A new manager is not going to turn this thing around. On the FOX pregame show yesterday they were talking about the Mets. If they should change Managers and/or GM's. The answer was basically "no". There is enough talent on the team, the players have to look in the mirror and turn it around themselves. I agree with that for the Brewers situation as well. That's all I'll say about it, don't want to turn this into a debate. Plenty of other threads already. By the way...GOAL! for Pittsburgh, Pens 1 Flyers 0.
  22. There's no need to try to circumvent the cuss filter for a word we allow. If you had done this for a word we don't allow, you would have been notified via PM by a moderator. Oh. Just a habit I guess. Didn't even think about it.
  23. At least the Pens and Flyers are about to start up. There's nothing like Playoff Hockey. Go Penguins!!
  24. Who, Prince? I'd sit his a$$ on the bench right now. I don't care who he is. This sloppy, lazy, lackluster, whatever you want to call it, play has got to stop.
