  1. Maybe that is the case, and they just need time to get over it. If so, they need to get over it soon before it's too late.
  2. I'm with "brewcrew00". I am one who doesn't think the Manager has much influence during the actual game. They can only tell a player so many times in practice to not swing at pitches in the dirt, or to not throw that meat ball right over the plate with two men on base. There are much larger issues at hand than Ned Yost. Maybe the issue is these guys are just not as good...as we thought, as we were told, as some "experts" thought. Or, maybe we need to look at the Yo-yo injury a little closer. The team did come back to win that game when they thought Yo-yo was fine, but have not won since finding out he is most likely done for the year. I mean I don't know this for a fact, but Yo-yo seems like a guy all his teammates like. Seems like a good guy. Maybe that is effecting the team more than we know and more than even they realize.
  3. "Stop babying these guys, already." I really don't think they are babying the starters. They are just not good enough to be able to go 7 or 8 innings. When a pitcher gets lit up in the 5th or 6th inning, or goes over 100 pitches before the 7th, he is pitching poorly and needs to be taken out.
  4. I guess I'd rather give Hart a rest against a lefty and play a Dillon or a Kapler, instead of against a righty with Gwynn playing. (Disclaimer: I do like Gwynn, but I like Dillon and Kapler at the plate a little bit more at this point in time, in their respective careers.)
  5. Considering Hart is 0-6 in the series, and has played in every game this year so far, it's time for a day off. Prince, there is a lefty going tonight, he hasn't had a RBI in seven games now, and you probably don't want to rest him against the Cards or Dodgers or Red Sox, so...why not tonight? And like Glennron said, is it really going to make that much of a difference anyway? Who knows, you give a couple of bench guys a chance tonight, maybe they can get this ship going again.
  6. I believe the players have to figure out how to turn this around themselves. I don't think a new manager or coach can really do all that much. I have to believe the offense is going to bust out of this slump soon. I believe when they do, the pitching will be able to relax and they will follow right along. I believe this WILL happen here in May. (Don't care who is on the schedule. It will happen. It HAS to happen.) I believe they have the players on the roster right now to still win the division. (Course with the loss of Yo-yo, a Don Sutton-type trade sure would help.) I just plain ol' still believe this team can do it, I guess. Go Crew!!
  7. LOL. Sorry, man. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Didn't mean to step on your toes there. Just didn't read all the posts here before posting my own.
  8. I feel bad for you. (But I'm not a Collins/Genesis fan http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)
  9. I wouldn't say they have NO pitching. I think it's good enough for what they expected to get out of the offense. I do think they expected too much out of Villy and Parra. Neither has ever pitched more than 150 innings, or gone thru an entire season as a starter. But, it is hard to pitch when you feel you have to be perfect all the time, because you're not getting support from your offense. If the offense was even close to what they were last year, we wouldn't be having all these discussions.
  10. I really thought Rickie's bomb was going to get them going. Then Cameron singled on the first pitch. Braun was fouling off pitches. Then, dam.
  11. DRIVEN, to deep left. This one gonna get way, way outta' here, and GONE, for Rickie.
  12. If he was changing the lineup around the other people would be complaining the players can't get going because he's changing the lineup too much.
  13. I'm with you. Put me in this camp. Let's Go Crew!!! Enough messing around already.
  14. Ok team, new drill for the pitchers... Tuck and roll drills, or is that called a "barrell roll". Anyway, I think you know what I mean. Run over to first, dive over the line, tuck the knees and roll... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif (Weak attempt at some humor there.)
  15. I'm sorry, but it was not a dirty play. It was a freak accident. Yo took a bad angle to the bag, and got himself into big trouble for it.
  16. Injuries happen. Just have to suck it up and move on. Parra, Villy, and Bush, all have to step it up now. The season's not over, it's just going to be a bit more difficult now.
  17. The ScRubs playing their home games in Milwaukee?!?!?!? No way in heck man.
  18. I don't know, I may have to change my view. Haudricourt said he didn't see Sveum put up the stop sign. Maybe Uke was right.
  19. When is the last time Prince had a day off? Looking at those stats up there, tonight might be a good night for Prince to come in later as a pinch hitter after Oswalt is gone.
  20. Sveum did. Rickey didn't listen.
  21. If DHing a Braun or Fielder, means they don't have to take a full day off later, I don't see the problem with that. I'm all for it.
  22. I heard Rickey ran thru the stop sign. I think I was listening to the 540 post-game show at the time. Nothing against Uke, I love him, but at this point in their careers, I would also tend to believe Pat Hughes over Uke.
  23. SERIES winning...Two RBI...Double...in the 9th. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  24. I just saw the Braun/beer outfield play. Man that's bush league. Looked like a couple of people threw stuff. Beer and food. Did you notice right before that, they were chanting "Braun you suck"? (Sorry if this has been said, I didn't read all 621 posts today.) Braun: 7-13, 3-2b, HR, 7 RBI, plus the series winning hit in the 9th. I imagine Braun getting fired up to play the ScRubs for a long time.
