  1. Which cities might get MLB teams? I can see Las Vegas, Nashville, and Charlotte as sure bets. Portland (Oregon), Indianapolis, New Orleans, Memphis, and Buffalo could be other options, along with a return to Montreal. Outside options could be Jacksonville, San Jose, and Vancouver (British Columbia).
  2. In fact, the Brewers should be building up a larger farm system. If I were Attanasio/Stearns, I'd be investing far more into the farm system and scouting, and would have fought against the culling of minor-league teams that took place. It still boggles my mind that they're really missing this chance.
  3. I have Valerio at #7 on my ballot, and he was at #8 on the previous one.
  4. I know you put a lot of thought into this, and I don't deny Hedbert did a lot of good things, but why isn't his walk rate a red flag?
  5. My inclination if Hiura isn't back to his 2019 level offensively would be to use McCutcheon at first as a "soft" platoon partner if necessary. Of course, Peterson and Brousseau are other viable options.
  6. MLB.com placed the Brewers in the 9-14 range of possible landing spots for Carlos Correa. https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-correa-free-agent-options-ranked Seriously... Correa at short for a year, Does that mean Adames to third or second? Or does Willy get some time at first? Or is this more a case of the Crew should have been in the "All set at shortstop, thanks" category?
  7. Seriously... it doesn't make sense to lowball the minor-leaguers. Put it this way, the better pay/food/etc. might get you an extra two or three players each year. More prospects knocking at the door can be assets that either directly help a team or can be traded for someone.
  8. Word is Schwarber to the Crew is official:
  9. Athletic report's tweet:
  10. Even in a universal DH major leagues, Fry, Hummel, Wilson, etc., probably make more sense on the bench than guys who can't hit.
  11. My take? Fast, some gap power, decent OBP, but strikes out too much for a guy who doesn't bring a ton of power to the plate. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=rodrig026car
  12. What we need is a 2022 version of the Nasty Boys for the pen. Especially with the [bleep] Braves getting Olson.
  13. Well, from my top 25 ballot, I'll give a few: IF Gabe Holt - the guy's BB/K ratio was freakishly good. C Darien Miller - Many look at Quero and Feliciano as top prospects, but Miller's got great OBP skills, he hits a ton of doubles. Think a left-handed Jon Lucroy. 1B/OF Ernesto Wilson Martinez - I initially thought he was an Eric Thames-type, but now think he had a bit more in the field and on the basepaths than Thames does. RHP Domingo Mejia - He flashed some freakishly good numbers in the DSL, and may be worth a long look.
  14. He had a LOT of domination in the minors, prior to 2019. Definitely could be a good multi-inning fireman. But man, first Hummel, now Fry... those were guys who could have really contributed to the Crew, IMO.
  15. A good option for the 7th, and a fallback option if Devin Williams isn't back 100% with his hand.
  16. Well, for the right price (Turang?), I'd get McNeil. Zamora might be a better option, and there is also Garcia and other prospects, so why not move Turang?
  17. Fry was someone I valued, Outstanding bat, highly versatile. Crucial bench asset, even with the universal DH.
  18. About to find out... Testing with a screenshot for Opening Day 2021 via Baseball Mogul 2021...
  19. 1. Joey Weimer, OF (38) – Brewerfan.net needs to add a post-season Top 25 ballot - Weimer exploded after the Mid-Season rankings. https://www.baseball-reference.com/redirect.fcgi?player=1&mlb_ID=686894 2. Hayden Cantrelle, IF (18) - Outstanding OBP skills, pop, but sub-Uecker average. Bad luck, or a bigger problem? https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=cantre000hay 21. Noah Zavolas, RHP (20) – Took a step back – but K/9 went up. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=zavola000noa 22. Noah Campbell, UT (19) – Versatile switch hitter with OBP skills, speed, and hits a lot of doubles. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=campbe000noa 23. 20. On Ashby, how much of the MLB experience was in September? The rule states, that rookie status is lost if a player "accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs **during the period of 25-player limit**." So, if it was after September 1, it doesn't count towards ending rookie status.
  21. Wow... I remember the calls from when he hit his first home run in `05 and being excited. Still think he was the best 2B the Crew ever had. Just an offensive force... and that was with the injuries that limited him.
