  1. my uncle owns a bar in boise. so that's my pick
  2. i dont think the top 4 teams are as tough as you are saying. marquette hung with syracuse and they would hang with duke also. i am a huge duke fan and have seen just about every televised game of theirs in the past 12 years, and i think there is no question marquette would play them tough. the only #1 seed that i think would handily beat MU would be kansas. cole aldridge or whatever his name is would absolutely destroy marquette. kentucky vs MU is interesting. kentucky hasn't played that many good teams, and they are very unpredictable. cousins inside is a beast but they are very inexperienced and are very streaky shooters. i could see marquette beating them if they have a good game and they catch kentucky on a semi-off night. and look at the 2-3 seeds. kansas state, new mexico, purdue, villanova, pitt, vandy, ohio state. i think marquette could beat almost any of those teams on a given night if they keep playing this well. it will all be about their match up and if they can make 3's, stay out of foul trouble, and make their free throws.
  3. i have u-verse. i think their customer service is a million times better than TWC, which i had for about 4-5 years. i have had u-verse for almost 2 years now. i have 2 HD receivers, 1 with DVR. i have an upgraded internet than the basic internet that At&t offers; and it all comes out to about the same cost as what i had with TWC. to me, the picture quality with U-V is better than TW, especially on SD channels. when it comes to differences in channel options, TW has the sports channel that shows some local games, but U-V has the NFL network, and to me, NFL network trumps the time warner sports channel . another thing to note is that no matter what you have set up in the house when it comes to cable tv, the u-verse install process is a breeze. i have had it put in at 2 different places, and the set up took very little time.
  4. i just want to comment on how frustrated it's been listening to people (especially TV and radio people) who have entire conversations revolving around bubble teams and whether or not they are in or out based on a win they just had or a loss they just suffered. how do these people not realize that bracketology means nothing until the conference tournaments weekend, if it ever means anything at all? Seriously, how dumb is a question like: "Did Marquette's win the other night on the road put them in the tournament?" the answer is simple; if the season ended today, yes, but since there are still 2 weeks left, the answer is no. they still have 4 games left (not 3 by the way). if they lose the next 3 regular season games and get bounced in the first round of the big east tourney, would anyone in their right minds think marquette is still "in"? the only way a team is in is if they lose all of the rest of the games and are still no doubt a tourney team. are these radio and TV people really that stupid to debate these things, or are they just looking for things to talk about that they know people will pay attention to? rant over, have a good day!
  5. besides sports and hgtv... monday: house, 24, the big bang theory, men of a certain age tuesday: idol, *wild recon wednesday: idol, the middle, modern family thursday: idol, %fringe, *the office, *community, %fast forward weekend: icarly, *american dad, *the cleveland show, *family guy % = not currently on * i DVR these shows and watch them when i can edit: added 2 wednesday shows
  6. They will get in the tourney because of a weak bubble but their resume is not really impressive at all. They are something like 2-8 against rpi top 50 teams. They have a big win against Georgetown but after that they have wins against teams like South Florida, Cincy, Xavier, not a lot of impressive wins out there. The Louisville game will be big for them. actually, Xavier is a pretty impresive win. and the win against cincy on the road is also a pretty good win because it was a road game and cincy did sweep uconn, who is looking like a tourney team. what i think will get them in is the 5-0 run they went on in the big east and their close losses (providing they dont fade down the stretch here)
  7. I am getting married in June, and am on a very tight budget. We are getting married on the beach at an amazing resort in Riviera Maya (Mexico) the only costs for us are as follows: - airfare and the hotel (7 nights - $3,800). (if you are going on a honeymoon to somewhere warm for a week, this means 0 cost towards the actual wedding) - 2 passports (if you would be honeymooning outside the Us, you would need one of these anyways...) - 2 blood tests (required by the resort) - <$300 in other misc fees/paperwork - got invitatons at hallmark. you can design your own invitations/cards at the store and they print them in the store. cost us $95 for invitations. - no reception. just a dinner with our guests at one of the restaurants. saves big time $$$. - my fiance got a very inexpensive dress because it's on the beach. and no shoes! - we will be barefoot http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif - very minimal flower/decoration costs. like less than a few hundred. so all in all, the actual wedding itself will be costing us between $1,000 and $1,500. we cant wait!
  8. Sorry this is a bit off topic, but I was watching the bucks game last night and it said that FSN is now broadcasting in HD 24/7. Does this mean that all brewer games in 2010 that are on TV will finally all be in HD?
  9. MY fiance is a vet tech at Bluemound Animal hospital, and she was involved in a front leg amputation of a lab just a few weeks ago. this included removing the shoulder blade as well later that day, the dog was already up on 3 legs. A few days later during a follow up visit, the dog was happy and jumping around. he adjusted to it right away, which isn't the case with all dogs. but in general, there isn't much extra care needed and it generally doesn't take them long to adjust. good luck!
  10. more like 5 years... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Just saw it (not in 3-D). What a visual materpiece. Incredible. Completely made me look past the weak storyline. What did you all think of this movie? Is it worth going again to see it in 3-D?
  12. woke up this morning on my first Christmas at my new home... only to discover water coming into my basement. (ice logs froze in my main gutter and downspout, all the water was overflowing into one corner near my house, and the water got in. luckily the kids' presents were in the basement and they up so dang early, so i noticed it pretty early on. but it was no fun being up on a ladder with an ice pick in the dark in pouring rain on Christmas morning... at least the presents or anything else important to us wasn't ruined. and luckily the wall where the water came in has already been braced... oh well. u live and u learn...
  13. I may start reading the "Left Behind" series again. for anyone who hasnt heard, it's a series of 16 novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins about Earth's last days, beginning with the Rapture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_Behind_(series) (cleaned up code in link--1992)
  14. thanks for bringing up this topic. i have had the storm 1 for almost a year, and i am looking at the droid. i will be checking in on this thread going forward. thanks,
  15. wow RoCo, that sucks. sorry to hear that...
  16. my pre-season prediction: Duke makes the Final Four
  17. fire and nice (ironic because she was not nice) "i saw a ghost" was the best line/part in the show and i did like the t-shirts that jay made
  18. I dont think Sessions ever looked as good as Jennings has these past few games. And just because he is "slight" it doesn't mean he will have a tough time staying healthy. Or does he have a past history of injury problems??? I also think Ersan has looked better compared with his last stint with the Bucks, but far from "Solid"
  19. this is as last minute as it gets: yellow or brown pants + orange shirt + white hat = candy corn (or indian corn)
  20. best episode of the young series. just an awesome show. and yes, the episode was out of order. in last week's episode, manny and luke were sent to the principal's office for fighting... my favorite parts this week: - all of jay's comments about Manny's outfit - gloria indirectly telling Jay to stomp on Manny's flute-like instrument after she told him to drop it. - cameron running towards the car with that trash can screaming that he is going to break the car window - phil getting hit by the car driven by his daughter - phil telling his daughter not to pull over because he has "priors"
  21. fuddruckers. great food, kid friendly (arcade area) and free cookie with their meal!
  22. i cant watch anything with that insurance salesman guy without thinking of dumb and dumber... overall - solid episode.
  23. i heard on the radio a month or so ago that the farmer's almanac was prediction a very cold and very snowy winter in the upper midwest. where did you hear warm temps and below normal snowfall??? that would be very exciting...
  24. an alternative thought process of the whole car thing would have probably have left me better off at this point. i am more concerned about going forward, because I am not going to kick myself for buying a car 27 months ago. but even the advice of what i probably "should have done" will help me going forward, so once again, i appreciate it!
  25. the fiance and i LOVE modern family!
