  1. shockwave was amazing. as long as you know where to position your head during that one part where you get rattled a bit, it was an incredible ride. i did get stuck on the top of shove wave once and had to get out on a windy afternoon and walk down those little stairs. talk about nerve-racking... raging bull and viper are also very good. batman is alright, but its so darn short. superman??? you know its been too long where there are rides you've never even heard of...
  2. a must win game tonight... and i will be there so that will help the odds out big time. 2008 record: 4-0
  3. I highly recommend seeing "The Savages". Sad story, great acting, and it's got Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Great movie...
  4. jason, the seats were great. thanks again!
  5. Berman is just OK. I enjoy him doing football highlights and can stand him on sunday nfl countdown, but thats it. i cant stand listening to him doing anything baseball related, especially the home run derby. one thing about berman i find kind of annoying that i've never heard anyone mention: berman has a tendency to hold his breath to long while talking. so if he ends up reading or saying a long or run-on sentence, he begins to lose his breath and his voice gets all weird. then once he is able to take a breath after a sentence, his voice returns to normal again. look for that next time berman is on espn. it happens ALL THE TIME!
  6. sorry these are so funny to me i cant stop... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2090/2068338906_c2343245b2_o.jpg http://graphjam.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/funny-graphs-tupac-all-eyes-on-me.jpg

  9. also, someone mentioned in the IGT last night that they are going to the game tonight and therefore we will lose. well i am also going to the game tonight, and the crew is undefeated when i attend games this year - so BAM! so far, i've seen sheets, parra and bush. first game of the year seeing soup. go soup.
  10. chipper hitting .750 against soup. yikes! lets crush this lefty!
  11. Jason, I PMed you, just do you know Thanks
  12. I went to the sales pitch thing a few weeks ago. I had to sit through 70 minutes of crap, but i got a $15 gift certificate out of it for dinner. I'm still debating of putting all the hassle into the 3-day free trip. i still have 40 days to get going on the free trip offer, but im not sure what im going to do yet. its not really a scam. you have to pay for the taxes for the trip, and there are plenty of blackout dates and times. but in the end, you can get the free trip if you really want it. but then again, if twobrewers is right, maybe the $1500 was for the taxes... i doubt i will pursue it, but going to the presentation was worth a free dinner. and also, the 30 vacation package is actually an incredible deal if i was older and had the time to take vacations annually...
  13. "I would just assume not let the rest of America decide who I listen to." "the rest of america deciding who you are listening to " please explain how this is different
  14. I wont tell people they should/shouldn't watch it, and people really shouldn't scoff at people who do watch it. and just for the record, i watch idol and will continue to watch idol. lol. archuletta will win, which disappoints me because i have been a cook fan (also a big brooke fan) for a while. as far as the comment about the rest of america deciding who you are listening to - i dont get that statement at all. you can listen to whoever you want. you dont have to watch the show. if you think music today stinks, listen to the older stuff or other stuff that interests you. i personally dont listen to much new music either because i think much of it is awful, but american idol actually features most songs that aren't new. several awesome songs from 10, 20, 30, 40+ years ago are sang every year and sang well. all american idol does is fill up a time slot 2 days a week, puts a few different records on the billboard charts every year, and gives some people something to talk about at the water cooler or at the dinner table. it doesn't force anyone to listen to anything... also, zzzman, i think this year was hyped all along to be the best year ever (talent wise), but i think it fell WAY short of expectations. i remember back when it was the top 12 and thinking holy cow, like 5 different people have a chance to win and 5 more people are awesome. and within 3 weeks, most seemed just average and only 1-2 people had any chance whatsoever. very disappointing to me in the end...
  15. You were spot on. Thanks for the heads up. BAM! so can anyone provide a recap or mention anything interesting that was discussed? thanks in advance!
  16. To answer a question that was raised, the interview will take place on his "alone with rome" segment, which is in the second of 4 segments of his 1/2 hour program. i would tune in at the latest 4:36 EST or so just to be safe. my best guess would be braun appearing on the air at 4:38 EST EDIT: Spelling, clerification
  17. Moreso than Jim Rome, hisself? not liking Rome's style or personality is completely different than thinking he is untalented. Jim Rome is going to be INTERVIEWING Ryan Braun. Rome is one of the best interviewers in the world of sports, hands down. Therefore comparing the talent level of Rome to Corolla is just wrong.
  18. i got tickets to only 1 game this weekend and as my luck would have it, it was for friday's game. and on top of that i left boston before the game was replayed. i never got to see a game in fenway, but i was able to be in the stadium for quite a while. it was awesome, just awesome. i have plenty of pictures of fenway that i will post by the end of the week. i also have pictures of the yankees/mets game from sunday that i will post as well...
  19. Who do you like in these matchups, and which one is the funnier show? Peter Griffin vs Homer Simpson- very close call, but the edge has to go to Peter. Lois Griffin vs Marge Simpson- big advantage to Lois Lisa Simpson vs Meg Griffin- slight advantage to Lisa, but Meg as a punchline makes a case for her Bart Simpson vs Chris Griffin- big advtantage to Bart Stewie vs Maggie- huge advantage to Stewie Brian vs Snowball/Santas little helper/Itchy and Scratchy- big advantage to Brian Extended Family- (francis griffin/the pewterschmidts vs homer's dad/marge's sisters) it comes down to grandpa simpson vs mr pewterschmidt, and "Grampa" gives The Simpsons the edge Other regular characters- (Swansons/Quagmire/Cleveland/Goldmans/Channel 5 news crew/Adam West vs Flanders/Burns/Smithers/Krusty/Barney/Moe/Nelson/Milhouse/Seymour/Wiggums - advantage for me: family guy other characters- huge advantage: Simpsons Tallying up the scores as if it were a boxing match, for me it would be Family Guy (84) beating out The Simpsons (82) From there, its a matter of good story lines with humor mixed in vs no real story lines with random quick shots of shock humor, often times through flashbacks. For me, both are good in their own right, but I will still lean towards the Family Guy What do you think???
  20. This sucks. The weather for Boston this Thursday through Saturday does NOT look promising. I planned on doing a lot of sight-seeing on Thursday and Friday along with going to the game Friday night. Looks like rain every day, and a chance that my only opportunity to attend a game this weekend in Boston will be rained out. i guess ill be bringing plenty of rain gear... Just cannot catch a break... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Amy, since you are in Boston (correct?), can you keep up posted in the next few days about the weather outlook? thanks.
