  3. I was just thinking about the 9th inning again, and I had noted at the game that the Padres had seemed to quit swinging and were just hoping for walks. I just went back and looked it up, the last 4 batters combined to swing at exactly 1 pitch out of 24. Granted Axford and Veras were issuing walks, but every out also came via a called strike. Also, in comparison, the first 5 batters swung at 13 of 30 pitches. Strange minutiae.
  4. Thanks for getting the thread up. I was at the game today, but got stuck rushing around doing errands and chores before the game. As I was speeding away late from my house to pick up my friend for the game I realized I never thought a moment about the thread today. Oh well. That 9th inning was miserable, but I'm curious if it could have been avoided. That ball that got by Weeks in the 9th, it looked to everyone around me, that Weeks could have had gotten it with any actual effort. Was that just the perception of being there? If Weeks makes that play, Hart is in position for the next chopper and the game is over. Instead it became the nightmare it was.

  7. Greinke is the only pitcher to induce an infield pop-up from Joey Votto in almost 3 years. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-baseball/19294142/random-amazing-joey-votto-fact
  8. I told Kalle I'd do the same, but hadn't gotten around to doing it yet. Thank you, pretend astronaut! The other angle I offered to cover for Kalle & his new wife is to put together a tailgate for the game on August 18th. I was already going to this game, which is one that Kalle & the Mrs. will be attending. So I don't have any full plan about this tailgate, but I was surprised to learn when I asked Kalle that they hadn't already had an offer to tailgate. So it'd be cool if other BF.netters wanted to get together to help them experience a true Wisconsin tailgate! Kalle told me he was very excited about the idea, so how can you not get excited about sharing that experience? Any & all are welcome... details to come. I didn't get a bite on my tweets yesterday. And I agree, a Brewerfan tailgate is the proper thing to do.
  9. The stat is 66 consecutive wins when they have the lead through 7. Even on the games K-Rod and Ax have blown a save, we still won the game in the end. The losses they both have, the games were tied when they entered.
  10. Ueck didn't sound confident in Rickie's at-bat there at all. (Not that he should have been.)
  11. If we drop back-to-back series at home to the Pirates and Cubs, I think that will be the full depth of my baseball despair.
  12. I still think it would be cool for the Brewers to do something more than Harley Deck tickets. I sent tweets to John H. Steinmiller (@jstein1981) and Mike Vassallo (@MikeVassallo13) with links to this thread and kalle8's memorable thread about The Zebra.
  13. Congratulations on the marriage woah solvedd!
