Everything I've read about Pujols says that outside of baseball he's a very upstanding guy, giving a lot of his time and money to people in need. I may not like his attitude on the field, but his skill is unrivaled, and I enjoy getting to see him play even if I don't personally root for the guy. I wouldn't give him any gruff on the street and would surely give him a hug if approached. Though I think Papi is far more approachable for a hug than Pujols.

McGehee has quietly hit safely in 14 of his last 17 games, but he's just not hitting for any power at all, with only 3 XBH in the past month-plus. I think so far it really hasn't hurt Prince to much, with only a couple of teams really avoiding him the whole series. I wouldn't be surprised to see Casey at 5 through the remainder of the first half personally. I wouldn't think you can go into the second half of the season still waiting for him to "turn it around".

A rival official on Riggleman: "I wouldn't hire him for Double-A or Triple-A job. You can't walk away... when you're under contract." Yeah, he should've played out the string so the Nats could fire him in August! Maybe so, but good luck finding another job. Even if you convince a GM to bring you in, how are you going to get the players behind you when he walked away from a team like that? He just fried his managerial career in my opinion, though his agent says he'll coach again.

Agreed. I hadn't been overly upset at RR like several people here, but today is an exception.

This makes the Hawkins situation rage inducing; Hawkins wants increased role in ‘pen Hawkins has pitched 3 innings since this, none of them high leverage.

Right, but that's not exactly apples to apples there. That was diagnosed on the mound, they didn't have MRIs at that point, or give him a work out. Hardly comparable. Certainly not apples to apples but it does not raise confidence in a medical staff. Because 3 years ago they didn't know the severity of Yo's injury while on the mound, and then because Marcum re-injured himself today? If your concern is based on different events 3 years apart, I'd say they're doing okay.

Yo said he could and did pitch with an ACL injury too. Right, but that's not exactly apples to apples there. That was diagnosed on the mound, they didn't have MRIs at that point, or give him a work out. Hardly comparable.

Good AB by Lucroy. Saw almost twice as many pitches as Yuni and Gomez combined.

I didn't think it was going to be anything more than a typical fly to right based on how Bob reacted. Bah.

To bad about Fielder's DP, but good thing Hart made it to third. Nice 27 pitch inning to start for Price.

You've got to enjoy how often we get first inning runs.

That whole write-up is actually pretty funny. It's It's here, for anyone interested.
