  1. Linebrink gave up 9 runs in 11.2 innings in August, never more than 3 at an outing. So no, he pretty much stunk all of August when the Brewers tanked away the season.
  2. Hardy should not be hitting second. Hardy's career OBP is .320. Thats is what is known as bad. The "awful" Gabe Gross is at .338 and .361 vs RHP.
  3. It was at the knees but it was down the middle
  4. Since the Cardinals can't get do small ball they are now sure to lose!
  5. Braun looks like a right handed version of the bad Jenkins
  6. He'll at least get 4 with a decent sized buyout on a 5th year option
  7. Yost"Hmm, struggling starting pitcher, almost gave up a hit to Isturis, over 80 pitches, down by 2, let him bat!"
  8. He probably should be pulled after this inning he'll be over 80 pitches, pitched under heavy stress and his spot is up
  9. Well Villaneuva looking at a 2 inning start right about now
  10. Ned Yost was not hounded nationally only because while the Brewers collapse was historic, it was not as historic as the Mets flame out. And Yost getting thrown out every other game down the stretch would have gotten him killed most places. As to the big picture, Yost's antics help make Nelson Figeroua look like an ace last Friday.
  11. I'm sorry, but Yost cracked last year under pressure. There was all this talk of the young players not handling teh pressure when it was the manager coming unglued getting kicked out of games and starting bean ball wars.
  12. And Weeks, Hardy, Hart, and Fielder will be eating a lot of money. And Sheets will not take a 2 year extension at 14- 18 million, he'd rightfully laugh at that
  13. If Mota's luck was a bit worse (he escaped having runs score when Shouse came in, bases loaded, to face a RHer for god's sake) he would easily have an ERA in the 20s. Turnbow will pitch some meaningful innings
  14. And Dusty Baker actually screwed that up by not walking Kendall before Weeks' game winning hit
  15. Who is your TV service with? Most other DVRs don't do teh recommendation thing but work just as well.
  16. Vargas was never sent to AAA and he had no choice in the matter. The Brewers just didn't want to pay him.
  17. I figured it out! McClung will bean someone this series, get suspended and then get sent down! No one will pick him up when he;s facing a 5 game suspension upon his ML return!
  18. Though Baseball Tonight on Sunday with Berman hopefully wasn't being shown in prison because I'm pretty sure it violated the part about cruel and unusual punishment.
  19. I'm ashamed of Brewerfan! By now I was hoping to see someone suggesting Munson for Hughes!
  20. Not sure how adding a #8 pitcher says they think they need better pitching to get a world series. To me its even more proof Bush is injured.
  21. Oh as to waht teh Brewers cpuld get for McClung? $20,000 waiver fee
  22. also keep in mind that Turnbow doesn't do a windup. Like most relievers its all from the stretch. Given they basically tried to erase all leg kick to keep Turnbow accurate it likely affects him more than most.
  23. Yep which is why I can't believe he made the team. You want your long man to give you three innings eve if he gives up 4 runs. McClung could easily throw 40 pitches and only record 2 outs.
  24. You would think that but Turnbow already did a day after night this year.
  25. It is guesome--RHers hit .300 against Shouse consistently-LHers .200 Thats why luck played a decent part in the victory against Cicny. Shouse vs RHer with bases loaded is an opposing team's dream matchup As to Al's point, no having a left hander is a good thing. Yes you rather have a good RH pitcher instead of a bad LHer, but platoon splits exist.
