  1. As a media man myself, I noticed she was great at what she did. She was also not hard to look at. Not sure how much you can draw in this "make over" to what she wore last year. She was at the ball park every night at the game and that takes a different dress than studio work does. Same goes for me when I cover games and when I'm in the office writing stories.
  2. I don't post much, I usually just end up reading, but I feel the need to put my hat in for that Damian Miller Bobble. Loved it, but missed it.
  3. Oh as a side note, those high school teams don't pay to use the field per say. They are each given a certain number of tickets to Brewers games to sell. It's the reason I've stepped on home plate at the park.
  4. Hey, that's my Prepsonthenet story! I covered those games and the Miller Park workers are nazis in making sure the high school kids stay off the grass for anything but the game. Even when they run to the bullpen, they make them use the warning track. Not sure how that will change with the new grass, but they are always trying to get it as much light and rest as possible.
  5. I posted this in the "Are you done with the season" thread, it fits in here too. My friend who I know is a die-hard fan like me (he's endured 3 more years than me as he's 28 and I'm 25) came at me with the idea earlier this week that he was considering wearing a paper bag over his head if things continue to get worse. I was initially upset because I live and die with the team and don't want to give up. But the way things are going, it is looking more and more enticing. I don't want the spectacle, though. Thoughts?
  6. My friend who is coming with me to Wednesday night's game against he Pirates came at me with the idea that he was going to wear a paper bag over his head at some point during the game. At first I was upset with his idea. But as things have gotten worse and worse, it is looking more and more promising.
  7. The pessimist in you was right on. Still one game back in the division, but three up in the wild card.
  8. As a fan we jump all over these guys when they don't produce (and rightfully so). When they get bad enough where a change has to be made and they are out of the lineup, it was understandable for Billy to be upset but maybe that was Ned's way of lighting a fire beneath him. I would assume it would be like a family disagreement at this point. He apologizes for what was said and we are glad to have him back in the mix while we make our run. Now its time to tear it up.
  9. It hardly makes what he and agent did acceptable. Unlike Brett Fav-ra, Billy has been mumm since and started to play better. Maybe it is the fact that he was informed he was not going to be traded. Whatever the case, he has done it the right way. He is one of the guys I want to see succeed. And one of the guys we need if we are going to "Go for it."
  10. It was the main subject of the WSSP postgame show last night and I expected a thread on it so allow me to post it. I think it's time we owe Billy Hall an apology. He has kept his mouth shut and has started to play very well and earned his job back. I was one of Mr. Hall's biggest haters when his agent came out with his remarks that he wanted playing time or he was going to leave town. It was mainly based on his spotty play last year which gave me a reason to hate on the guy. Heck, I even took his retro bobble from last year away from the family and put it all alone on the end of my desk. It finally seems he has earned his starting position back against both righties AND lefties. All I really wanted I guess was to be proven wrong and he has done that. Thank you Billy!
  11. Is it now time to get off Bill Hall's back? Welcome back Billy! All I wanted was for you to prove me wrong.
  12. Was just informed I'll be in section 227 Row 4 picking up an empty seat for my friend. Also in Sec 211 Row 11 for Wednesday to see Benny. It's going to be crazy at the Cathedral the next couple days. Can't wait!
  13. I am now solidifying my once tentative plan to attend Tuesday's game! Standing "O" when No. 52 takes the hill and another when he leaves with the lead!
  14. I'd have to say Gagne, but how much does tonight's performance get D-Bow back in the formula for the pen as the set up/occasional closer? He was basically the end of the pen lately, but Ned seems to be behind him.
  15. Ryan Braun - If he is not the cockiest player in MLB he is very close. There have been talks on the team the player plays for that the next time they see Braun they will consider sending a message. The player said not only does no one on his team like him, not to many other guys do either. Kind of falls in line with what I heard from a friend of mine who does some stringing work for the Associated Press last year around the time they called him up. He knew one of the AP beat reporters that covered the Crew in Spring Training and Brauny came off as a Prima Dona. Said he had a sore elbow (that's what the sleeve the right arm is far), and told the team he wasn't playing. To get him in line, they kept him in the minors the first six weeks of the season.
  16. Was just going to look into getting tix that night. Sign me up!
  17. Hughes is pretty good actually. I used to listen to Cubs games at work almost every day as my boss was a huge fan. I will say, since the question was brought up about Uecker, I have one question. What's the score? The guy can go 10 minutes and not tell you the score. He should have an hourglass in front of him and everytime it runs out say the score. My only complaint. Otherwise, I love the guy.
  18. I'm a believer of the phrase "It ain't bragging if it's true" and Billy boy is in no way a arrogant. I think everyone at the park yesterday thought that double in the 11th was a home run just like Bill. Especially if it's a walkoff shot, I think everyone tends to be a little more showboaty (if that's a word).
