  1. Sounds good (but also a bit strange). Holler if this happens again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Weird. I just set up a multidirectional indoor antenna in southern Milwaukee County. When it's on top of the TV, all of the full power channels come in fine, plus WYTU (low power Channel 63) tries to come in. If I move the antenna to the floor behind the TV, WYTU is clear as a bell, but Channel 10 poops out. The odd thing is that I wouldn't expect Channel 63 to come in at all. I'm not getting any of the other low power Milwaukee channels (7, 38, 41).
  3. Please give posting to this topic another shot when you come back. If that doesn't work, send me a PM. Or you can use the 254 characters you're allotted in the title field; I see you've figured that out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Also, if you can include your browser (including version number) and operating system, that might be handy. In the meantime, I'll look to see if there are any known bugs related to this.
  4. About a month ago I was working on a slow speeds issue for someone, and found that their 120 GB hard drive had exactly 136 meg free space. Talk about packing it in. There isn't much room to top that, but I can. On a friend's computer, I tried to download a 20 MB file. It wouldn't fit.
  5. Yuku did a code push today, and it appears that all but the newest members are now seeing gift boxes. To Yuku's credit, there's now some stuff about beta in the conversion interface. That should guard against people converting accidentally (at least a little bit). Again, I don't recommend converting at this time.
  6. Yeah, always do a backup just before reformatting, even if your system is buggy. In addition, I'd back up important documents separately and use this separate backup to restore them. Before copying your documents to your redone system, make sure they're scanned for malware. When installing your OS and reinstalling your software, set restore points and create backups religiously. The law of averages dictates that there's bound to be a hiccup somewhere--either software error or human error. Also, backing up while setting up will give you a clean OS--with some programs included--for the next time you need to redo your hard drive. I read somewhere recently that it's best to keep one's hard drive less than half full. I knew that you're not supposed to approach the "full point," but I didn't realize that the threshold for performance decline around was as low as half full. Take a look to see how much of your hard drive is currently in use. You may want to drop in a new one before doing all this work.
  7. Drew and Tom worked together for a lot of years. I think Drew goes back farther. For a time earlier this decade, Tom worked for another newspaper out East and then returned.
  8. Ya know, we do need a report back when you get your feedback in class. Is there a z value?
  9. This is my number one complaint about browsing Yuku boards, and it's been going on since August, 2008. It's also the Yuku bug brought up most often by our members.
  10. The bifocal contacts I've tried have the reading correction all the way around the outside of the lens with the distance correction in the middle. It doesn't matter how they sit on the eye. They're absolutely great for reading. Unlike bifocal glasses, there's no learning curve. Your eyes don't need to train themselves to read effectively. The problem with soft bifocal lenses is that if you need a strong distance prescription, the distance correction will likely be inadequate. I think I was somewhere around 20/30 when I wore them, and I found that I couldn't see things like road signs. I'd certainly recommend trying them, though. There's nothing to lose.
  11. Earlier today, when I saw Diskono's name in the "Last Post" column, somehow I knew the answer to narbo's question would be here. He's great at coming through with stuff like this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. If there's any way to reread that, I'd like to know. Back when ezBoard hosted our forums, the number of topics per forum maxed out at 400. Since Brewerfan's migration to Yuku in August, 2007, topics remain on the board unless we choose to prune the forums; we're not doing that. As hawing said, here in Off Topic, threads go back to December, 2006. You might try looking in the Wayback Machine. I just tried that, but the site is so slow that not much is loading. If you start at the list of Brewerfan.net archives, you might try clicking on various dates, then hitting the Fan Forum link on the top of the pages that appear. We've found old posts that way in the past.
  13. TooLive, I thought I saw this the other day, but I'm definitely seeing this issue right now. I received a message about 50 minutes ago and it never registered a "(1)" in my inbox. I found it because of the e-mail alert. I know that there are issues with PMs right now that directly relate to Yuku's attempt to make old and new profiles compatible with each other. Most reports that I've seen are the other way around, though, i.e. people read their messages and their navigation bars still indicate that there are new messages. There are so many bug reports on PMs right now that I'm not sure that I can quickly find one related to this. (It'd be nice of people used topic titles that were more explicative than "Please help me. http://images.yuku.com/image/gif/c8935733514242385b3248c1035cdb1587936d6.gif) There'll likely be a code push soon, so maybe there'll be something in the announcement addressing this. Let me know if this issue is still persisting. On my end, I'll poke around. If I see something before the next push, I'll post here. If this is still happening after then next push, I'll post a topic in Bugs.
  14. The topic title is edited. Thanks, Logan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. TheCrew07, the way things stand, as he hadn't been optioned before being placed on the DL, I think Mat will be burning up Major League service time. The way I understand the rules, he'd currently be considered to be part of the Major League team, drawing Major League pay, and using up service time until he's healed and can start playing in Nashville.
  16. I had one thing wrong. If you actually quit (exit) your browser and try to log back in, your username will appear, but you'll be prompted for a password. That doesn't erase the fact that that entering a password should always be necessary when logging in unless one specifically stores passwords at the browser or OS level. Unfortunately, staff views not having to enter a password upon logging in as a convenience.
  17. Just got a message that Tuesday is sold out, but some tix are still available for Wednesday. Just to clarify, the $3.17 tickets are sold out on Tuesday, but there appears to be plenty of regularly priced tickets available.
  18. It links me to an outlook email box login screen... That sounds like what I saw earlier, and it's probably what Invader3K saw, too. Try again. I just saw the green St. Pats screen a few minutes ago.
  19. Better than no seats... That's how I look at it. The site was busy, and there wasn't enough time to fill out the credit card information, but on the second try, I primed myself for a race against the clock and got in. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. They're currently a subchannel for channel 58. I would think that if you can get channel 58, you should be able to get WMLW.
  21. By the time this time of year rolls around, it can snow as much as it wants, and it won't bother me. The light's there at the end of the tunnel.
  22. It's back right now.
  23. It worked last night. Maybe at 7 AM?
