  2. You are right. I have no idea what the framework for fines would be here? Regardless, no "typical" fine would get the point across. The commissioner's office would have a lot of leeway to discipline because management employees don't have the same level of protection that the players have.
  3. This would be outside the scope of the CBA. The people allegedly involved are management. It's a mind blower that the Astros employees supposedly reused passwords. People should never use the same password twice. It's also a mind blower that the Cardinals allegedly had access to employee passwords. That's a huge security hole.
  4. I've been to five games, and at the last two, my belt has set this thing off. I've worn the same belt to every game. I don't think it has unusual amount of metal. At this point, I've decided that it's simpler to empty my pockets completely so there's no guessing game. I may decide it's simpler to have my pockets empty to begin with and put everything into a small pack. I don't think this system causes undue delays, though. Kind of like golf, customers who don't trip the trigger can "play through" while the person that's delayed is cleared.

  13. Brian's tendency is to be right, but given the way he says "groin," I had to ask.
  14. So does Tanner Roark pronounce his name like Brian Anderson does (RO-ark), or does he pronounce it like one would normally expect, where it would sound like "roar"?
  15. It seems to me that there might be a subtle difference between "ginger" and "a Ginger." Re the updates, 200MB seems reasonable these days, but 20 separate updates doesn't. I'd bet that a lot of them could have been combined. Microsoft's "Patch Tuesday" setup is designed to make things easier for IT people. The only updates that are issued between scheduled Tuesdays are the ones that are considered to be emergencies. My understanding is that this will change with Windows 10, with updates being delivered to personal users when they're ready.

  19. I think homer nailed it. You could be glancing at your scorecard, passing someone's money to the beer vendor (or passing the beers to the customer), getting up to allow people to reach their seats, become distracted by a fan's antics, or whatever. At any rate, I'm not bothered by a net. Railings are an entirely different story, though. I wondered about railings when Gómez fell into the stands. But a railing would have directly blocked the line of sight for fans in the front row.
  20. Yep. Keep round 1-5 discussion in this thread.

  23. I'm not sure what they meant. It's a tough call when the news person cites a law enforcement agency that doesn't exist. In Wisconsin, amber alerts are requested by local law enforcement (in this case, the Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department). Then they're verified and activated by the Dane County Public Safety Communication Center. At any rate, to provide information in response to an amber alert, you can call 911 and whichever law enforcement you get will handle it. How does Wisconsin's Amber Alert Plan work?
