  1. After annoyance Poster Models Soriano and Ramirez, and third-person-self-referencer "The Big Z," there's a dropoff IMO. What might the Annoyance Factor be if Pujols completely rakes in his six Sept. games vs Cubs? Just askin...
  2. Cub wins over Wildcard contenders increase our playoff % chance, logical at this point. However, a Brewer Win produces the largest % gain in our playoff chance. Steady Brewer play, plus a Cubs road swoon at a contender's ballpark, things get REAL tight in a hurry. So when is it OK to unleash unbridled rooting for Cubs "L" flags???? ... gnarling, chomping, gnashing on bit ...
  3. Dear Crew, Final visit to Cali, please avoid West Coast swoon! Make Mark A. proud. PS ... Go Marlins (this week)
  4. Some great posts on this thread. Perhaps the Brewers Ticket Sales Office may check in from time to time, I'll add my $.02 worth: Cubs fans are very aggressive on the internet ticket marketplace, and there are simply many more Cubs fans. What makes buying single-game tickets easy for Brewer fans, also makes it real easy for Cubs fans. Hold back all single Cubs games offline, but package each one with 5 other April/May/Sept non-Cub games for a "Cub 6-Pack" online. I also like Rick H's February direct marketing plan to Brewer fans. The Cardinals' First Pitch idea --- Brewers should do this for all Marquee games, not just (please don't jinx us) playoff games. Tau's recommended "$17 parking discount" for cars sporting serious Brewer garb is great, do it. With more tickets moving to digital seat rights, make these transferrable online only to another registered Brewers Season Seat Holder, minimum 20-pack. Also, any StubHub resale could require a Brewer login account from the buyer, verifyable by the Brewers. This week there were loads of visiting Cubs fans in the expensive Field Level and Club Level locations. Wisconsin companies of course use these perks to market their business to Chicago clients. This happens in Green Bay as well. However, the Packers revoke your season rights if your tickets are given/resold to an abusive fan. Brewers should consider this policy in the pricey sections. Thanks and GO BREW
  5. In which inning was your Usher notified of this situation? Normally the Miller Park staff, once notified, can be quite persuasive in encouraging better fan behavior.
  6. Tuesday SRO, other games close proximity to the Leinie Lodge. Cubs fans welcome to bring baseball knowledge and large wallets: discard all foul language at the tollbooths please. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Splitter you're awesome! Definitely looking forward to being Part of the Team this afternoon.
  8. In Chicago this last week on business. Chi-Town BFNetters may dispute or confirm, but I happened to notice Chicago's local newscasts running crawls with Cubs score immediately followed by Brewers score. All other games, including Sox, had to wait their turn for the actual Sports segment. I'd venture the answer to OP's question is: "NOW" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. For the choice seats, StubHub. You normally buy directly from the actual Season Ticket Holder. Of course there's an associated price premium for this MLB partnered service, but very, very little chance for mischief.
  10. Canadian Junior Nationals Very nice
  11. A basic "anti-clutch" formula might be: (#K's with Runners On + #Popups with Runners On + #GIDP's) / total AB's with Runners On Could be interesting ...
  12. The Trifecta sounds mighty tempting
  13. Second Half we play Cubs 10 times (7 @ The Keg + 3 @ The Trough) and Cards 6 times @ Busch. Curious overall, among Brew, Cubs, Cards ... who plays the toughest 2nd half schedule? ESPN's Strength of Schedule within RPI is only for games already played ?
  14. A short-term "loss" while still knocking away at those nasty debt leftovers from the 90's. The fact that Mr. Attanasio and DM are willing to pursue premium players NOW shows their level of commitment to us. It's a truly exciting time to be a Brewer Fan! Great analysis Igor, I'm certain the Brewers would be absolutely delighted if they COULD run future years' revenue projections at 3 million attendance. Making the playoffs this year, with our cupboards still well intact, can make 3mil a realistic, sustainable number for years to come. More resources to pay off the debt quickly, develop and acquire talent, give Jack Z a large raise, etc
  15. I recall some real wild % fluctuations on BP's team PECOTA playoff odds. Like during the course of a single road trip, we'd go from 50% to 70%, then down to 20%. Were the Mets 99% playoff-probable at one point last year?
  16. Now THIS was "Free Agency Failure" ! JSOnline link Bonus question ... who does DT resemble ?
  17. Kendall, Cameron and Riske are intelligent signings. And since Gagne is only 1 year, our downside was wisely limited. Clicking the thread title "Free Agency Failure", I was expecting some Jeffrey Hammonds!!
  18. Nice call on the Mudvayne, confirmed last night on Big Board ... not too far above Russell The Muscle's latest dent. Jason Kendall and Gabe Kapler have to be our most underrated players.
  19. Jason Kendall just changed his walk-up to something even heavier than Rob Zombie, anyone know what it is?
  20. Perhaps if you place a Retro Ryan Braun bobblehead on your IT manager's desk, BrewerFan.Net may become magically white-listed
  21. Looks like detours didn't interrupt most of the inbound Twinkie faithful on Friday. With Kevin Slowey's career hitting night and Bill Hall's misadventures, Twins fans had plenty to cheer. Around home plate, not so bad, but man my eardrums got abused by Twins noise near the Kid Zone! Needless to say, they still have far more class than the typical Cubs fans invading The Keg. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  22. Good ads make you spend your money. On the flip side ... Anyone spend money with companies whose ads really ANNOY you? Example, that AT&T scruffy book-reading dude keeps popping up during the News, scaring the neighborhood. Yikes!
  23. Twins fans are usually quite knowledgable all-around, solid baseball fans in general. St Louis Cardinals fans also in this category, even more-so on their baseball knowledge. Welcome guests at Miller, I'd love to see both rivalries expand. Cubs fans at Wrigley: substantial (skewed, but substantial) baseball knowledge on the Northside. So ... how come the quality of "Cubs fans" they export to The Keg are usually from the bottom of their barrel ??? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  24. We were really impressed with how relaxed & low-key the players were, especially Rickie. The auctions raised $14K for Juvenile Diabetes Research, awesome! Gord Ash sat back and instigated bidding wars ...wonder if he & DM like to do that at the Winter Meetings. The young girl talking about living with Juvenile Diabetes was the true highlight of the evening. This was a special night, happy to hear Rickie will try to make this an annual event. Thanks Rickie ... and Brian & the BFnet Nation for bringing positive attention to this worthy cause.
  25. I was amazed at how uncrowded, and well-organized, the day was --- what a nice treat. As other BFNet'ers have noted, we never felt rushed. Ryan was very personable & generous with his time. Kudos to the Brewers staff for making this great event happen! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
