  1. Interleague would be great if only all the games were against Cleveland.
  2. Probably illegal to mention here but Detroit and the Mets both have a lead and bases loaded in the 8th.
  3. The offense also had plenty of hitting and guys on base on Tuesday, just did not get hits with RISP...I don't know that I'd call that a lack of offense, certainly it was a lack of runs and "clutch" hitting (or just bad luck).
  4. The only things I can think of is he is maybe more concerned with defense for the day game as hitting is tougher or else it's just giving Gamel the day game after night game off. It is also possible he is reacting to the pitcher being more effective against left handed batters than right (at least so far this year).
  5. Yeah, I don't see the value of that either all it did is guarantee a bunting situation for the pitcher and made it very likely that the lead off hitter would get an AB.
  6. This is my fault, right before the HR I told my wife Looper is having a pretty good game.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. I think I heard Melvin say it'll be McClung starting on Saturday...not sure if that had already been revealed, but I did not see or hear it before this.
  8. With the NY metro area having about 20 million people, I'm surprised that they are not able to sell out every game. Fenway and Wrigley manage to come much closer to doing this...total attendance is at about 95% in Boston and 97% for the Cubs.
  9. Yeah, they'd have surely won tonight if only Kendall were batting 8th instead of 1st...
  10. ...and following that two more get on and the game ends 7-5 on a strike out with the winning run at bat
  11. Ah, so that is what the "LOB" number by each player is on gameday. 10 actual LOB ("team LOB" on gameday) in 5 innings is quite amazing.
  12. Good thing no one took you up on that, it might be a tough call (if they score). Was it Suppan for dropping the ball, Kendall for not seeing it, or Fielder for not getting there?
  13. Now 7, but then -2 thanks to Cameron...so is that still 5 net runs on the defense http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif?
  14. Suppan's AVG is now better than 3 guys (Hall, Hardy, Kendall) in tonight's starting lineup and one point behind a 4th (Cameron).
  15. It wasn't just McGehee, Cameron seemed pretty nonchalant about that whole play.
  16. Well that does it, most likely. The shortened game ends up not being much of a factor as the odds are pretty small that the Brewers would come up with 6 or more runs in the next two innings were they to be played.
  17. Hourly forcast now says 95% chance of heavy thurderstorms as of midnight (eastern), so it looks like there is, at most, another 1/2 hour left for this game.
  18. Yep, he missed the call but at least he is willing to check what others saw.
  19. 2nd baseman caught it on a short hop and threw to second base for a force. JJ was not sure if it had bounced or not and was tagged out between second and third.
  20. That's a double play I don't think I've ever seen before in 30 years of watching baseball. Regarding the rain issue, I don't particularly like the rules of less than 5 equals no game and 5 or more is a completed game. But I also don't have a problem with the umps trying to get as much in as possible.
  21. There is also no certainty about how long they will be able to play. If the weather.com hourly forcast is to be believed there is a 70% chance of light rain for the next hour and then 80% chance of tunderstorms after midnight (eastern time).
  22. That'd be a pretty foolish move and a forfeit. I don't understand this mentality that there is something wrong with a shortened game, but nothing wrong with wiping out the first 4 innings.
  23. I have no problem with re-starting. Were the score reversed, would those of you who object feel the same? Sure it might be a shortened game, but that's the rules of baseball.
  24. Ah, but then there are those pesky shadows http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. I agree and when inspired to investigate by a recent discussion here, I was surprised to discover there had not been a park with a roof built since MP (8 new parks built since then).
