  1. He pitched 24 innings in the majors. How many in the minors and on the side? He had a leg injury, it is possible that he exercised his arm, while on the DL. Then again, maybe he just sat on the couch watching baseball and doing 12 oz. curls.
  2. I pointed out what the pitch counts are for little leaguers. I did not say that they were (only) for little leaguers. I never used the term babying or anything similar, perhaps you have confused me with someone else.
  3. Talk about a strawman... What a convenient way for you to belittle and mock all those whose opinions differs from your's.
  4. The issue wrt that is 105 is a limit that applies to little leaguers 5-6 years younger than Yo. Yet, some seem to think that approximately this same number of pitches should be an arbitrary limit for this 23-1/2 year old, strong, robust, healthy young man.
  5. Well, I don't unless they do it too much, but absolutely lots of people think it is a big reason for the Brewers losses.Ah yes, even listing to our announcers one would think a succesful bunt is more important than a HR. In fact, HRs are seemingly a negative, because we "rely" too much on them. They should stop that relying. Fewer HRs, more bunts, that's the ticket to success, if only Prince had 24 bunts, instead of 25 HRs...
  6. Not many are dismissing pitch counts. Counting them does not tell you how many you should allow. Neither you nor anyone else knows precisely how many pitches in each game is the optimal number for Yo to throw. How old is "young"? How many is "well over 100"? That sure does not sound like it would mean 105 to me, perhaps it means 120 or 130???
  7. Note that I said "... start ...", from IGt during his last start: Of course "freaking out" is an intentional exageration...how about this: the worrying starts about 90 pitches and the pitch count talk starts even earlier. Again, 105 is a limit that applies to little leaguers 5-6 years younger than Yo. As has been said, we may as well use him as the Brewers will eventually lose him.
  8. 23 is not 19 or 20, right? What he threw during major league games last season does not consitute a complete analysis of what he did with his arm. He did some minor league pitching and other rehab work, didn't he? Do we know what he did over the winter? Many here start freaking out every time he is over about 90 pitches. This ain't Little League, and even if it were their limit for 17-18 year olds is 105 pitches and 3 days of rest before they can do it again.
  9. I think if Bush is not coming back soon, they should probably pretty much give up on this year. They still might get lucky going with what they have, but they should not give away the future to get a pitcher who is going to start about 12 games.
  10. We'll see what they do in their next 7 games against Washington and the Padres...maybe they win 5 of 7. But, there was talk going into the all-star break about their easier post all-star schedule too, yet they proceeded to split in Cincinnati and lose 2 of 3 @ PNC.
  11. So how did "Brewers 14-21 since June 1st" turn into a bunting debate? Surely no one thinks bunting or a lack of it has anything to do with their poor record. By my count, they are now 26-35 since losing Weeks and 12-19 since losing Bush.
  12. I don't know that they have much to sell, but, yeah, I can't really see the point of giving away a lot to get one good starter when the rest of them are mediocre or too young to really count on. I think the sensible thing is stand pat and hope they get lucky.
  13. Yes, I heard him say something like that. Didn't catch that it was seeds, I just heard him say something about spitting or spraying the umpire while yelling at him.
  14. They gotta be stealing signs, don't they? Why in the world would anyone pitchout with Hardy on base?
  15. Therefore, Prince would've had guys on 2nd and 3rd instead of 1st and 3rd. Seeing as he got a base hit (it's a pretty safe bet to assume he gets one anyway, considering his RBI total and batting average) it could've been 2-0. Except they may have walked Fielder if he came up with runners on 2nd and 3rd.
  16. Isn't he the pitching coach? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. Pirates are ridiculous for whining about this coming months later. That happens all the time. Houston did it to Braun quite some time after his HR walk, IIRC.
  18. "You tell Mr. Selig that next time that kid pitches there's a good chance he gets one in the ribs elbow." - Ryan Braun
  19. Not that Rivera should have PH there, but they do have this guy, too: http://media.scout.com/Media/Minor_League_Baseball/798727_McGehee062804.JPG
  20. Wasn't there any better option to PH there...maybe Parra?
  21. Yeah, it's only the third inning...it could turn into something like the 14-12 game in Cleveland.
  22. Very surprised there was no argument from the Brewers on that play at second, seemed pretty uncertain whether he actually caught the ball or not.
