  1. Pinella is not going to start Zambrano tomorrow. Z is going to get 1 or 2 innings to keep him sharp. That's all.
  2. I really really wanted to win this game and take 3 out of 4 from the Mets. I still remember what I felt when Victor Diaz hit that HR in 2004 and it would have been sweet to answer that with Micah Hoffpauir. Oh well, sorry Brewers. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  3. The reason for the 16/14 split is so there's an even number of teams per league. Otherwise a team would need to have an off day everyday.
  4. Braun also got turned around pretty bad on a 7th inning double by Ramirez.
  5. Series of the year for both the Cubs and the Brewers. Go Cubs!
  6. If that was true, Ramirez wouldn't have done his bat flip thing. He knew it was gone.
  7. Cubs win! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Sure they did. Remember Edmonds made a basket catch that inning.
  9. He won't be overpriced. Cubs will be paying him the prorated minimum.
  10. Anyone see that Reed Johnson catch? Wow ..... wow.
  11. What's really interesting is this article: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3351418 Specifically, this part: The Astros' media guide lists Tejada's birthday as May 25, 1976. However, in addition to the birth certificate produced by ESPN, the Chronicle reported that Tejada's green card, driver's license and other legal papers in the United States list his actual birthday as May 25, 1974. How could the Astros not know about his actual birthday if it's on his legal documents? I suppose his W2 also lists his real birthday of 1974, so how could this have been hidden until now? BTW, Tejada was untucking his shirt to take his mic off.
  12. I kinda think Tejada got ambushed here. Of course he looked bad in the interview. He had absolutely no time to brace himself and think about how to handle this situation. To me, ESPN looks like the bad guy here. What they should have done is to notify Tejada off camera that they obtained his birth certificate and was going to release it. Then, ask Tejada to do an interview about it. There was absolutely no reason to take him by surprise on camera with it (other than sensationalism).
  13. Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown of the Chicago Cubs
  14. It's more important because you usually gauge a team in the middle of a season (when different teams have played a different number of games) by what they can hope for if they "win out". Since "winning out" means that your loss column does not change, the current number of losses you have right now is equal to the current number of losses you'll have at the end of the season. Now, if "losing out" is the gauge that people use, we would be having the exact same discussion about the win column, but since wins occur more frequently than losses for playoff contending teams, we prefer to think of things in terms of "winning out."
  15. As long as we're posting disparate sentences, I love how Wes Littleton pitched 3 innings and got the save when his team had a 27 run lead.
  16. You know....you could have picked a better title for this thread.
  17. sqrt of Pi is the integral from -infinity to infinity of e^(-x^2) dx.
  18. Phils pulled the trigger too early on Iguchi.
  19. Never, enough said.
  20. Keep in mind that even if Braun doesn't get the required number of PA's, he could still win the batting title if his average assuming an 0 for "however many more PA's he would need in order to qualify" is still the highest average in the league. That said, he'll still need to contend with Derrek Lee and Chipper Jones.
  21. No, that is not accurate. They only have 3.
  22. Last I checked, Soriano and Ramirez are not bums. Neither are Theriot or Fontenot. Plus, Jones has been coming on as of late. Anything can happen!
