  1. He needs to start showing some power.
  2. I'm starting to think Weeks read that bust thread in the major league forum
  3. He's reminding me of my cold French Onion soup at Outback last night.
  4. Oh come on now. This is just getting ridiculous. What a Gabe.
  5. I'm calling it. Prince hits two long balls today.
  6. Exactly what I was thinking. A lot of the Yost haters will try to say this is Yost losing control of the team (which is always possible), but I really doubt it. Besides Estrada last year, I don't recall any rumors or complaints of bad attitudes from the players. This should not be blown out of proportion.
  7. If it's gotten into their heads this much, just switch it already. If they keep "struggling" (and I use that term loosely) then it will be pretty clear to them that they just have to concentrate a little more on working out some kinks/patience.
  8. -billyhallfan I don't care how many times they say "ya know." In fact I, along with a lot of other people here, found some light-hearted humor out of it considering there was a whole thread about the "ya knows" either last year or the year before. I don't recall anyone demanding that they fix their speaking skills on here at all. It was pretty apparent to me that Prince was naturally shy or nervous when being interviewed live on camera in the past and he's gotten noticeably better at it as his confidence and position as a team leader has solidified. If you actually read the first couple words of my post I was recognizing Prince's improved speech and was not putting him down. Lastly, having solid personable traits and speaking skills is important in all walks of professional life. Prince and Rickie are in essence ambassadors for the Brewers business and organization, and saying "ya know" every other word in a sentence, while obviously a petty flaw, is just poor grammar and something that can be fixed.
  9. I Have to give him some credit for improving his speaking skills though. The Brewers obviously brought someone in to help the young guys that were obviously not naturals in front of the camera (when not playing baseball that is). I know Russ is the stats guy here, but I think it's safe to say that as a team we've cut down on the "ya knows" by at least 50%.
  10. I don't have a problem with them taking the first pitch. My problem is that Braun seems to have been taking lessons from Johnny Estrada where he watches the first pitch and then swings at garbage the next pitch. I never thought I'd say this, but maybe Braun should take a few pointers from Kendall on how to work a pitch count.
  11. Put me in the Pedro lottery as well.
  12. This has been obvious to me as well. It's like their new master strategy for seeing more pitches is to watch a fastball strike go through the heart of the zone, and then and then swing at the next pitch which half the time, as long as the pitcher isn't a complete idiot, is just some unhittable breaking ball low and away.
  13. What's funny is that I'm not even one of the Yost bashers... but maybe it's starting to sneak in to my subconscious.
  14. I'm no expert, but everything I've read says the 4th guy is supposed to take more pitches, and every single time a pitcher goes low and away on Braun he swings at it. Now, I know they could pitch the same pitches if he was third, but he would at least expect to see those pitches more considering they'd be more concerned about leaving men on base in front of Prince instead of Billy.
  15. Braun is showing no patience whatsoever, and all these steals he's supposed to be getting aren't showing up. Plus, it wasn't broke last year, and now it appears a few cracks are already starting to show. (changed title to anoint this thread as the new designated lineup thread --1992)
  16. This is getting ridiculous. How does het get such good contact on the ball every time?!?!?! (Not that I'm complaining).
  17. It sure is a good thing I'm not a deaf person because if it wasn't for Brian Anderson telling me Rickie hit a walk off in real time, I wouldn't have known otherwise since the monkey at FSN controlling the different camera shots didn't switch over in time.
  18. If Sheets stays healthy we win 100. I'm calling it.
  19. We got free tickets at UWM for this series. I'm definately going tomorrow (hoping to see some starting pitching that isn't Bush league (sorry, lame, but I couldn't help myself)). I'm pondering whether to take the bus right to the stadium for the game tonight because I really want to see us match up against Cueto, but I'm tired as heck.
  20. I agree with Tuesdays. I hated Estrada's laziness and seemingly apathetic/bad attitude. Kendall could be hitting .200 with .300 OBP right now and I'd still be thrilled because you can see he's driven and cares about the team.
  21. He also got some more love from Sheets after the game today.
  22. I've been thinking the same thing about the guy controlling the cameras. What the hell?!? They haven't even shown some of the last pitches because they were showing the batter's head!!! Idiots.
  23. olsonnet- I was actually wondering this when we got in around 1045 am yesterday. I noticed that they didn't seem to have a plan to stop selling parking passes at any point to people who hadn't bought the advanced passes, so I figured some who had bought them would end up being screwed when it was supposed to guarentee a parking spot. I liked Prince's outfit because Cub fans hated it and it gives him a little extra character (not that he didn't already have enough). I hope Braun stops swinging at everything. They could pay me to do that, but I know he'll come around.
  24. I just hated how Cubs fans whined about how "cocky" they thought Braun was last year, when there was only one time after that big homerun, and Ned yelled at him for it... and then there's Ramirez who puts on his best pose and stare job after every freakin homerun he hits. He's a donkey.
