  1. A double with 1 out that can score Rowdy from first, wow
  2. Offense looks way better with Yelich getting on base ahead of Adames, Tellez, and Renfroe.
  3. Count me as also expecting the designated veteran bench mascot. And with the DH a 5th OF type doesn't need to see a whole lot of playing time. So I'm a little sad as well, I wonder how much discussion there might have been ahead of this with Cain directly. I'm also kind of surprised he just hit the 10 year mark in service time.
  4. Hate to break it to you, but staffing the Dells meant those pay thresholds were crossed along time ago. 25 years ago working for the same owner of a fast food franchise in the Dells and other neighboring towns meant a $1 an hour difference on that base minimum wage salary, and the average Dells employee was way less productive than our store. Higher end servers even in those days were comfortably breaking $10/ hour. And that's with all the recruiting for overseas help in the summer.
  5. I'm not sure if it is helpful, but I got 2 responses from them about my license within a few days towards the beginning of the year. They were short but what I needed. I was sending them to ELO.Help@dpi.wi.gov If your question wasn't related to a license I'm not sure that is the appropriate email. They also initiated the first communication upon screening my application so that might have made a difference.
  6. Sal Frelick with 2 hits including a HR already tonight.
  7. I'm not sure if that would be covered by title insurance? But it might be worth checking. We purchased our house, and the second time we refinanced someone doing the title search noticed that an earlier foreclosure had not been processed correctly. We bought it from the people who bought it out of foreclosure, so it made it through 2 owners and 3 different titles searches before being caught. In our case we were contacted once by an attorney who was paid by the title insurance company to fix the problem and that was it. I suspect yours since there is an actual dispute involve will be far more complicated so best of luck.
  8. I think Willy is messing with Yelich he's got him winded over there.
  9. The key to this being viable is what other types of attractions you can come up with to bring people in either earlier on game days, or on non game days. You mix in dining type amenities once you have a reason for people to show up besides food, if you don't have a significant draw then in terms of generating new tax dollars to pay for stadium upgrades. You try and keep most of your parking because part of the draw is it functioning like an alternate downtown without parking headaches. If you had a really good transit option that would be great as well. Since the light rail went in to downtown Minneapolis I've only driven through there 1 or 2 times, riding a train is so much easier (and cheaper).
  10. I was just killing some time confirming my recollections, and I'm fairly confident that the ability to get competent starting pitching performances out of call-ups would have been immensely valuable to the late 90's Brewers. Take the 96 team they scored 894 Runs but allowed 899, they finished 80-82. At worst it would have been a real wild card race with even 1 league average starter in the mix. A couple of guys for filling innings and they probably eek into the wild Card (Baltimore had 88 wins that year). Anyone of current aces mixed in those years and we have a couple of playoff chases for sure and likely that one appearance in 96.
  11. I think it's perfectly reasonable to have held off this time around a bit on Chourio. The level of helium is pretty unprecedented, but getting too wrapped up in some tools and early season performance isn't. Or if you prefer Chourio is who we all thought Christian Guerreo was.
  12. Gary Sheffield maybe? He won Sporting News Minor League player of the year back in 1988, I can't track down the BA top 100 lists from that era but he was the Brewers top prospect 3 years in a row.
  13. I can't think of too many Brewer prospects ever who had gushing BA chat comments like. All but encouraging top 10 prospect aspirations by the end of the year is very uncharacteristic let alone not really down playing a #1 overall rating if he just keeps hitting is well I don't think Braun or Prince ever even sniffed that level of hype.
  14. I tend to think of the dark days coming afterwards just a bit. I got back into the Brewers with those players and a number of those years the offense was really quite good. But opening day starter Rafael Roque really puts the pitching staff into perspective. That late 90's vibe on the ESPN message boards did ultimately give rise to Brewerfan so it wasn't all bad.
  15. I will fearlessly predict that Reyes will try to join Chad Moeller in the category of least expected Brewer to hit for the cycle today.
  16. I will perpetually hold off at least a bit of reservation until I see how a player performs at AA or higher, but I look at our position player prospects and I see enough depth at key positions in the coming years to give me confidence we can turn over parts of the roster and keep this run going.
  17. I like watching our players succeed wildly against their former teams, way better than the other way around.
  18. After the Boxberger magic last night I wonder what the Cubs board is saying about their offense.
  19. There is something to said for identifying the talent for sure, but seriously 6 average or way better pitches? Starter after start developing. Random reliever after reliver showing up with average or better results. The Brewers now how to teach pitching at the moment in a way that no other organization can match. I don't know how long those trade secrets will last and it isn't intended to minimize anything about Burnes. More a statement that I think he deserves some extra accolades for going beyond and maybe a recognition that the front office couldn't have predicted this level of success.

  21. Almost makes up for Urias getting robbed in the 1st. Gives Ashby a chance to come out in the 7th.
  22. Unfortunately Nashville turned around and has allowed the bases to get loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 8th.
  23. I feel compelled to point out that as far back as May 28th Yelich had a higher OPS on the season compared to Taylor. Taylor has been on top of it for the last couple of weeks and has a pretty solid track record of contributing, but even this year Yelich has had stints with an OPS over .800 something Taylor has only done in 'season' way back in 2019 over a grand total of 10 ABs.
