  1. Not necessarily. Those teams had very little chance be competitive. This team showed that they could compete but now are just playing terribly. I was at loss 100 back in 2002 (as part of my 20-game pack at the time) and this team is more disappointing as of late because they actually had a chance.
  2. Amazing that there's a good likelihood that the Brewers won't have the division lead going into the ASB.
  3. pm sent...thanks! Edit...for some reason the pm is stuck in my outbox...here's the items that I'd be interested in if they are still available: Randy Wolf Bobblehead 16x20 Photo of 2008 WC Celebration of Braun pouring champagne on Sabathia 1982 World Series Sports Illustrated with Yount on Cover
  4. What are the odds that picks 17 and 28 become hall of famers?
  5. I'm going to be out of the country on vacation for the next 10 days. If anyone gets an extra Polish I'd like to buy one!
  6. The Molitor lot, which always had a maximum of 8 port-a-johns, did have at least 16 this year. Because of this we decided not to use our bucket and try out the lines. Most of the lines were still 30+ people deep. The one time I needed to go I went to the line at the farthest end of the lot where there wasn't as many people and I still waited around 20 minutes. There were still some very long lines that I bet still took 40 minutes or so to get through. It was an improvement from prior years. It's nice to see that the Brewers finally attempted to do something about this problem, but they could still double the number of toilets out there and not have too many.
  7. This is almost exactly what we do. I'm not sure where people are that there aren't substantial lines for bathrooms, but we're always in the Bluemound lot and the above scenario is exactly correct. Hence why we starting bringing our own, we also have a portable shower stall, so it's not like people are just being randomly into a bucket. I haven't heard of the kitty litter though, that's an interesting idea. How much do you put in a bucket? And how many times can the bucket be used with the litter in it before you throw it out (how many people can go before it needs to be replaced)? The most important thing is to get non-clumping cat litter. We just poured in a couple of inches to start and as it filled up we added more. When we went into the stadium the bucket was pretty full, but we had 8 to 10 people using it. The bucket should only be used once since who wants to haul around a dirty bucket like that. You can pick them up at Menards or Fleet Farm for like $3-$5...definitely worth it. Oh, and bring hand-sanitizer too.
  8. We always park in the Molitor lot, where there are either 6 or maybe a max of 8 total port-a-johns supplied by the Brewers in the entire lot. That's for hundreds if not over 1000 cars. Even if a person isn't out there to get wasted there are definitely enough people that are so when you need to go to the restroom the lines can be 40+ people long. This has taken about an hour of waiting in line to use the restroom which isn't acceptable. We aren't the type of people that want to go relieve ourselves in public on the side of the hill or behind a car so we started bringing a bucket with cat litter in it and used it in the back of an SUV. We recently upgraded to a camping shower stall so that it's completely enclosed and it makes our tailgating experience much better not having to sit in pain waiting to use one of the few restroom facilities. Many years ago I wrote Wendy Selig-Prieb about this issue on Opening Day and their lack of sufficient restroom facilities on Opening Day. To no surprise I never heard a response. If the Brewers are going to start restricting this then they really should provide enough facilities for their customers. Oh, and for how we dispose the bucket...we fill it full of the cat litter so there is no running liquids in it. The buckets have a lid that snaps on and then we throw it out in a dumpster. Not really any different than how I dispose of my cat's waste, just on a larger scale.
  9. Boo...if the Brewers don't want people to bring their own toilets to Opening Day then they should ante up and get more than 6 port-a-lets in the parking lot. http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/milwaukee-brewers-to-pottytoting-tailgaters-no-byop-this-year-429bs6q-200649061.html
  10. Borrowed from dlk9s after finding out Jennings signed in Minnesota. http://i.imgur.com/423QT7X.gif awesome. the signing is worth just to see all the .gifs Agreed.
  11. I received my 10-game pack of tickets today. I knew they'd arrive in time but I always feel a lot better once they are in my hands. I can't wait for the season to start!
  12. YES!!! One of my more-recent favorite Brewers' moments was when Manny Parra was released. Hopefully he won't totally dominate the Brewers like most sub-par pitchers do.
  13. I'm going to this with some friends of mine. I'm excited to see what they present and to see some of the cast from one of my favorite shows.
  14. It's interesting that this showed up again. Near the end of September my current 2-year contract with Charter ended. At that point I was no longer going to get their "bundle" price so my bill would have gone up around $25 a month. In the past when this happened I called them up and got a new "bundle", typically good for around 2 years. When I tried doing that this time they said they have a whole new pricing structure and no longer have contracts, which I thought was good. I was all ready to get a new bundle, but right when we were wrapping up I wanted to confirm what package and what cable boxes I would end up with. I found out that Charter no longer is offering multi-room DVRs (which we were using). In order to get the new "bundled" price I'd have to turn in the multi-room DVRs and get an individual DVR for each TV. They tried passing this off as a benefit stating that this way you can record much more and you can record 2 programs at a time on each DVR. True, but the problem with this is that you have to watch what you record on the TV that you record it on. This is a big deal for us because we often watch something in the living room and then finish it in the bedroom. Sometimes we want to watch in our workout room or I watch things in my man cave. It would be a pain to have to record where we thought we would want to watch it. So because of that I made the switch to DirecTV...and I haven't been happier. The quality seems better, we can record up to 5 things at a time, and I haven't experienced any issues with rain or wind. When the installation guy came over I pointed out to him that I've been contemplating switching to DirecTV for a long time, but one of the things that was holding me back was the horror stories I've heard about loss of signal. He said that he would get as strong of a signal as possible and he did. I am very pleased.
  15. It's funny (or maybe sad) that I didn't know that short-haired lady's name was Carol even though I've watched every episode. Regardless, I didn't get any indication that she got killed by the walkers. I took it that T-Dog sacrificed himself for her and she got out unscathed.
  16. At first I thought the trivia reference was to a question I have seen on my daily MLB/Brewers calendar regarding a player by the last name of May who was born in May and his number was his birthdate...so he ended up having his birthday (month & day) on his jersey. I looked up Dave May on Wikipedia and saw he was born in December, so it must not have been him. Regardless, rest in peace. Edit: I decided to look up who I was thinking of. It was Carlos May: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_May
  17. I can't tell if you think this is expensive or a good deal...I assume you intended this to mean it's expensive. Sure $100 sounds like a lot, but in relation to the prices of beer, food, memorabilia at the stadium, etc., it really isn't that bad.
  18. At first thought I was thinking the Cardinals. If that were the case he'd end up throwing 4 complete games and a no-hitter since putting on the Cardinals jersey resurrects your career.
  19. Hands down I'd have to say Game 5 of the 2011 NLDS. That's the most electric I've ever seen the stadium, especially after Nyjer's game winning hit. That sure beats loss #100 that I was at in 2002. Also, seeing President Bush (whether you like him or not) throw out the first pitch on Opening Day 2001 was pretty awesome. That's the only time I've ever seen a President in person.
  20. 50/50 is definitely still available...at least in the Stevens Point area. Was the soda-flavored water you are referring to New York Seltzer? I used to love those when I was a kid. On a separate note, does anyone remember the PB Maxx candy bar? In my opinion those were the best candy bars of all time.
  21. 50/50 is definitely still around...at least in the Stevens Point area. Was the clear soda-flavored water you are referring to New York Seltzer? I used to love those as a kid. On a separate note, does anyone remember the candy bar PB Maxx? In my opinion that was the best candy bar ever...
  22. I am in Plover, WI so this would make a difference for me. I'm thinking that my dish may need to be installed on the roof (due to my lot and the visibility of the sky) and clearing off the snow would be very difficult and dangerous during the winter. Does this happen pretty much every snowfall?
  23. My 2-year contract with Charter is about to expire and I am seriously considering switching to DirectTV. I'm not looking for a comparison of features between the two, but I am just wondering how reliable the DirectTV signal is. When I was a senior in high school (1997) we got DirectTV. Of course this was the era of only standard definition television, but we were very happy with the signal...granted we fine-tuned it ourselves to have a very high signal strength (over 90). Now that everything is all about HD I'm not sure how it completely works. I know they state that the signal is reliable for over 99% of the time, but I have been at a couple of different houses that have DirectTV where their HD channels freeze up in rainy (not stormy) weather. When we changed to the equivalent standard definition channel it would work. I assume the HD signal requires a stronger signal compared the standard definition counterpart. We have the television on from the moment we get home until the time we get to bed (don't judge)...we like to have it on as background noise rather than a radio. I've had pretty good luck with Charter over the last 10 years or so and I'd hate to switch and have it freeze up all the time. I suppose that it really depends on the person that installs it and how well they fine tune the signal. So for you DirectTV subscribers out there, can you tell me how well your HD signal holds up in inclement weather? Thanks!
  24. We had one that dug a pretty big hole in our yard when I was a kid. We kept filling the hole up with rocks and dirt but he kept digging them back out. We had to resort to "getting rid" of him.
