  1. Does anyone know the dates and times of this year's clubhouse sale? I'm trying to plan a day off work so I can go, but I haven't seen any info about it anywhere.
  2. On the Ghostbar's website it says "Stylish nightlife attire required, NO athletic wear, shorts, tennis shoes, baseball caps, or flip flops." The VooDoo Lounge's website didn't say anything about the dress code, but I think most clubs are this way, I cannot remember whether or not I saw anyone wearing jeans when I was there. Another place my GF and I liked was Minus 5 Ice Bar at Mandalay Bay (there is also one in the Monte Carlo). Everything in the place is made of ice, tables, seats, glasses, bar, sculptures, etc.
  3. I won an uncut sheet of eTopps baseball cards from the Topps booth at the All-Star Game Fan Fest back in 2002, it was a cool looking sheet (sold it on eBay for about $500) I would have framed it and kept it, but if I remember correctly there was not one Brewer on the sheet
  4. I found a nice deal on a cool LED sign, it was usually $159.99, and the MLB.com Shop has it on clearance for $21.97. UPS just delivered it to me yesterday and it a very nice looking sign, especially for the money. I will say the sign was not exactly as pictured, the rectangle border around the logo is white not blue, and some minor imperfections around the outer portions that let the LED light go through, but unless you look closely you won't notice it, and it looks great on my wall. If I would have paid the $159 (which is out of my price range), I probably would have sent it back for a replacement because of the imperfections, but for $22 I am fine with them. The sign is 24"X12". http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3125257&cp=1503844.1840221 http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-4801437dt.jpg Here is a picture of the sign on the wall. I took it with my phone, so it doesn't look as good as it does in person, but it is a more realistic look of the sign than the shop site shows. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/4dc156988c1189c0b23882eda797e310e0bddbb.pjpg
  5. I have 4 tickets for the 9/23 game vs the Marlins and was wondering if anyone has any NYCE Club passes left over that they won't be using. I would like to take my friends going to the game with me up there. Please PM me if you can help me out, even if you have less than four passes (two of my friends have never been in the club, so I would like to send them in to check it out) Thank you in advance. 6. I will second the VooDoo Lounge, my GF and I were there in July, it was a lot of fun. We had dinner at VooDoo Steak (there was no cover charge to get into the lounge since we had dinner there). The food was excellent. The inside bar was very busy, the outside bar was kind of slow, but I think that was because it was really 100 degrees at 11pm. Ghostbar at the Palms was also a good time both times I was there, the view from the club is great, and the section of glass floor that lets you look down 55 floors is a cool feature. Another place I like is Carnival Court outside of Harrahs, they usually have live music, but like most other places it gets crowded on the weekends. I didn't stop here on my last trip since it was so hot out, but on past trips I would usually spend a few hours here listening to the bands, people watching and watching the flair bartenders. Where are you staying? When we checked into the Flamingo we were given a coupon book for the Harrah's properties that had a coupon 2-for-1 entrees at VooDoo Steak and another for 2-for-1 drinks at VooDoo Lounge, I am not usually a coupon clipper, but those two coupons saved us around $60 for a few extra rounds of drinks there.
  7. I didn't see his e-mail, I hope he reread the it, otherwise he will be very disappointed. I ended up getting 2 pairs of Field Infield Box seats, which I am very happy about since I was expecting SRO.
  8. I was one of the lucky few selected for the Opening Day lottery and just bought my tickets. They were available at 10am today for me. A friend of mine got selected as well but he said his time for purchase was tomorrow.
  9. The Cubs do all they can not to lose money to scalpers, they have done the scalping themselves: Here is what the Cubs did: The Tribune Company (owner of the Cubs) set up Wrigley Field Premium Ticket Services. Before the season even starts the Cubs take the good seats and sell them to WFPTS for face. WFPTS then can scalp the tickets at street market rate. There is some accounting trickery going on here also, but lets just limit this post to the scalping theme. So basically, the Cubs and their owner, The Tribune Company set up a ticket broker to try to harvest some of the "lost" revenue that other scalpers or season ticket holders were receiving. http://lifeinthegreatmidwest.blogspot.com/2005/04/legal-ticket-scalping-by-cubs.html
  10. The Cubs are having a ticket pre-sale, they are letting fans buy tickets before the regular on sale date for a 20% premium. If you wanted to buy tickets to the home opener at Wrigley tickets would run from $26-$378 instead of $22-$315. It looks to me like an new way for the Cubs to scalp their own tickets. I know I am biased, but they have to be among the greediest pro sports teams out there. I always give a friend of mine a bunch of grief this time of year because he is so optimistic at the beginning of the Cubs seasons. I told him last year the reason the Cubs won't win a championship this year or anytime in the near future is karma, they keep crapping on the fans and karma keeps crapping on them. My friend had no response to that argument, he knew I was probably right.http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/first_chance_presale.jsp?affiliateId=panel_chc_mcfirstchancesale021210 I am curious, if the Brewers had an offer like this, would anyone here do it? I would maybe think about if for Opening Day, but I think I would rather just put the extra 20% towards a 9 pack.
  11. Please include me in the drawing too. Thanks for doing this.
  12. The May 30th game is the only Saturday game you could get group tickets for half off (50 or more seats) in certian sections. I have done a group on one of these discount days the last three years. I had to settle for Bernie's Terrace (at the $8 per seat) instead of Terrace Reserved (at $7 per seat)because all the TR seats were gone, and I sent in the request a week before group sales were opened to new groups.
  13. ESPN.com lists the incentive numbers. http://sports.espn.go.com...009/news/story?id=3914137
  14. The Great CornJulio is the winner for me. Good work Bernman.
  15. These are my two favorites, besides the booze, my grill and my folding picnic table: http://www.buylifetime.com/Images/22119_lg.jpg http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-91181333552265_2008_143296981
  16. Not to get off on a tangent, but does your friend know what a Bags game would cost (it is made by the same company who makes Golden Tee)?
  17. I took vacation days Monday and Friday. This will be my first opening day at Miller Park South.
  18. The last couple of tailgate parties I cooked at, I made marinated pork sandwiches. I buy a good size pork loin and and slice it into 3/4" to 1" slices, then I marinate it for a few hours in whicheve type of marinade sounds good at the time. I used Lawry's Louisiana red pepper on some of the chops and garlic and herb on the others. Then just grill them until cooked, put on a bun and serve, no condiment needed. These got great reviews from my friends.
  19. Thanks for doing this, please throw my name in the hat.
  20. This is pretty funny. The video is about halfway down the page. There is also a link to a fake Erin Andrews MySpace page which is also funny. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/extramustard/03/14/hotclicks.0314/index.html
