  1. Are box scores still going to be posted in the link report? or just on the scoreboard portion? I clicked on the scoreboard part of the main page, but it came up with nothing.
  2. I have no idea why this would be happening, but it has been going on for the last week... I can surf the entire Internet, and do anything on this site that I want without a problem, except whenever I click on a thread for a major league link report I get a notice that says "my local connection has been unplugged." I would then have to close out anything I was doing, jiggle the wire a bit, then log back on to the site. It started during the thread the last time Caplellan pitched. One day it was fine on the first page, but every time I clicked on the 2nd page of the thread I would be disconnected. Any suggestions?
  3. Emotiocons can really break up a conversation from my point of view. I read the posts here to gain perspectives and information on the Brewers, not to see a dozen rolling smiley faces take up 12 lines in the middle of a post. I think that they quickly move the conversation from intelligent discussion to more frivolous posts. On a similar note, the growth of the site is an interesting catch - 22. There are a lot more perspectives and people with different interests / experiences here. On the other, I don't have time to read everything. It used to be that once or twice a day I could make it through most of the new posts and read just about everything in there. Now there is a lot more time spent sifting through duplicate threads, long series of quick exchanges, and more people repeating things that have already been articulated. It just forces me to skim / skip a lot more, and I don't feel like I get as much solid info as I used to because of my altered viewing habits.
  4. I saw him running around spring training just yesterday with the rest of the injured pitcher squad. It was kind of sad watching all of these young pitchers that (most of them) were pretty highly regarded at one point or another practice nothing but fielding techniques. On a similar note, when warming up this morning, Diggins requested to stick to soft tosses instead of long tosses with everyone else. Made me wonder how well his recovery was going.
  5. I'll be watching Sheets and DLR today along with (I believe) Turnbow in Maryvale.
  6. I'd like to know who Hart stole 2B off of . . . that's one looooooooong slide by one tall man! Hart is no slouch on the basepaths. He is a good all around athelete and and can move when he needs to.
  7. I can't think of anyone in the system that throws a knuckle, but that would be another category to include. Edit: Is the Palm ball just a type of Change up? (like a circle change.) Or is it a different pitch?
  8. Ditto all of the appreciation from posts above. The Power 50 was my intro to the minor leagues, and what got me rehooked on baseball. I found it right about the time I started going down to spring training every year, and it served as my guide of who was who. I also think that Toby's presence helped make the board the fun place that it was and still is. It was cool to see that other young guys with similar outside interests (ie. music) were bigger Brewer nuts than me. I don't know how you got so knowledgable of the minors, but thanks for keeping the rest of us up to date.
  9. Along the same lines, does anyone have any idea of who may be on the AAA training camp team. I would imagine that most of the top upper level prospects will be with the big league club. But what about Eveland, Sarafate, Cruz, Woolard, Vandenburg, Gwynn Jr., Ford, Hurricane, etc... I always have a tough time tracking guys down on the first day or two.
  10. What kind of info are you looking for?
  11. What are the advantages to moving to Firefox over Internet Explorer? Can a computer numb nuts like myself even figure it out?
  12. How big are the question marks about him being able to stick a third? Puss for an arm? No range or what? How much of his value is in his position? Does he have a high enough ceiling that he would be a top 10 pick at another position?
  13. excuse my computer illiteracy, but I have a question regarding what was posted above regarding the hits on the main page causing a bottleneck. Should I change Brewerfan from my homepage? That ends up giving the site lots of extra hits when I really have no intention of cruising the site. Does this affect the cost of running the site as well? I know that there was some talk about more traffic costing the site more $ to run.
  14. Is anyone else having problems getting onto the homepage? When I try to come to the site it tells me that there is a proxy error. All the other sites I've tried seem to work fine, just brewerfan won't work.
  15. I lurked and occasionally posted on ESPN 2 years ago. It was right around the time that Big Reed was starting arguments with everyone over here, so finally I decided to check out the "evil Brewerfan" site they kept talking about. Only ever checked ESPN a couple of more times and it seemed like each time I went back there was a similar argument going on, so I posted that I thought it was lame to engage in a "posting war" and vowed that I would never return. I have kept my word and am very happy with Brewerfan.net
  16. I was just looking for some feedback about Jeff Clement. I know that Jack Z doesn't usually draft on positional need, but it could be pretty hard to pass up a power hitting catcher. How bad is his defense? Is it his arm or other issues. What other positions could he project to if catcher didn't work out? Anybody think that he is a strong possibility for our pick?
  17. Brian I would probably have to buy at least 5 of both. Those stickers would be hilarious!
  18. Not to bring you down Nbo, but the injections never did anything for me either. I ended up going through two series of 4 shots, and none of them ever did anything. After 2 years of dealing with (at times) crippling pain, they finally fused 3 of the disks for me and I've never been happier. I do have enough faith in modern medicine that they'll get you what you need though.
  19. I underwent back surgery at the end of last year as well. Brewerfan was key to the recovery period. Best of luck buddy. I feel your pain. (Literally)
  20. Pitch... I think that there was a minor injury to Sheets that made him questionable before last nights game. ( An injury to his finger? But he was persistent about facing Johnson apparently.) I'm personally sick of seeing Jenkins and Overbay swinging at pitches at their ankles. I've seen enough of that in 2 games. I agree about Jenkins. But I think that think that the argument saying that Overbay is tired from his first full season is a valid point. As you pointed out, the whole team has lost any sort of enthusiasm (battle grit too!) I don't think that has done anything to help Overbay recover from his slump. I was a fan of Yost when I was convinced that he was motivating players to (as over used and ridiculed as it is) battle and play hard every day. There doesn't seem to be any spark or motivation left however, and the poor game management decisions just seem to pile up...
  21. Wow, Krynzel has got some serious ups!!! Wish that I would have seen it in action.
  22. Maybe I've missed it, but have you ever done a draft recap of drafts from 3 or 4 years ago. Everyone always says that it takes a few years to truly evaluate the draft. I think it would be really interesting to look at the 2001, 02, 03 drafts in the same way. Excellent job on this years. as always, thanks for your hard work colby. I know that I sound about 1 million times more informed than I actually am because of your writing and research. Thanks!
  23. I don't think that I can watch the game tonight. I'm still feeling hung over from the sickening display last night. We'll see if I can't grab an inning or two, maybe just when Krynzel is up.
  24. Boy, that suicide squeeze was a breath of fresh air. It is those brief flashes of fundamental baseball that keep me watching a team as frustrating as this.
  25. wish that we could have gotten one more out of that, but at this point I'll take whatever we can get!
