  1. trwi, thanks for the info. Those two stats make you think.
  2. Why do I have the sudden urge to make obscene phone calls to the Brewers for the absolute inability to manufacture runs the past two weeks?
  3. Can someone check on the average runs per game since the Crew's so called slide? What about the pitcher's ERA since then as well? There has to be a rhyme or reason why the hitters are struggling so bad.
  4. Game, set, can anyone say match? Those baserunners the previous inning look a whole more useful now, don't they? How much do the pitchers have to yell for help before the offense actually wakes up and scores more than 4 freakin runs in a game? Pitiful, just pitiful.
  5. Balfour should ask that all media outlets pronounce his name b(a)l-for
  6. What a way to go offense.... two K's to begin the inning. What happened to the offense that scores 6 or 7 runs in a game? And Goodbye Hardy... Cappy with the official No decision.
  7. Time for the Brew Crew offense to give him the win NOW. No other way to give Cappy credit for his solid outing than for the offense to actually show some support for him this inning.
  8. Cappy will likely get the ND tonight. He may be pitching well, but I would think with Davis out, Neddy may go to Jenkins as a pinch hitter for Cappy.
  9. It seems to me that the Crew are experts at giving free outs to any pitcher. My God, what does Davis have to do to show he actually is fading? Throw fat hanging breaking balls to the hitters? Is the offense that dumb to realize that the first two hitters got on base, all they had to do was put the ball in play.
  10. The last two outs seemed so deja vu to me. Why is it that the Brewers sometimes get two guys on to lead off an inning with NO one out, they squander it. Come on Brewers, stop doing this!
  11. Davis has eclipsed 100 pitches. Now it's time to mash it Brew Crew.
  12. This new team makes me wonder if the Racine Raiderswill be able to beat this new team. The Bonecrushers? They should at least think of something more original, like the Milwaukee Cream Citys?
  13. The Braves did indeed sign Julio Franco for the remainder of the season. He is expected to be in uniform tomorrow for the Braves. Wow, he has 2,500 plus hits in his career. If he didn't play those years in Japan and in Latin America, he would be in the 3,000 hit club. You all think he could or would be in the Hall of Fame when his eligibility comes up?
  14. The Chinese Basketball Federation is turned into a total witch hunt for any Asian players in the NBA. Now they are bashing Yao Ming for showing up late to their camp because they said "he was too busy being personal." Ming
  15. I guess I have been bored a TON lately. I am currently nearly unemployed right now and I have applied at like, literally 50 different places and positions the past two weeks and so far no one has given me a call back. So for the past week and a half, I have been sitting at home watching Soap Operas and eating food. I worked fulltime for this job and the hours were so terrible that I just couldn't bear it anymore (back to back 16 hour shifts, mostly third shifts) and the staffing situation brought me to the point where I was single staffed a lot of the time. Keep in mind I work at a group home for adults with various illnesses and the stress started to really get to me. A lot of overtime because of staffing crunches (sometimes 60-70 hour weeks).
  16. Looks like the Chinese Government hates the Bucks too. The Bucks have been given no choice in this matter now. This is what is wrong with any sport dealing with international players because it seems like the governments there fight to the teeth to get what they want. BEIJING -- The Milwaukee Bucks' campaign to secure the services of reluctant power forward Yi Jianlian has suffered a blow after the player's Chinese club said it would block his move to the United States. Yi, taken by Milwaukee with the sixth selection in the NBA draft last month, would "definitely not" play for Milwaukee, Tuesday's Beijing News quoted Guangdong Tigers chief, Chen Haitao, as saying. "This is not -- as media reports have said -- because Milwaukee, as a city with very few Chinese people, is not good for Yi's commercial development," Chen said. "Rather we want to find a team suitable for Yi's growth. That's the root of the problem," he added. Earlier in July, Yi's Chinese agent said the unsigned player was looking to be traded to another club, despite pledges by Milwaukee officials to do whatever they could to make him feel at home. Chen expressed concern that Yi would have trouble getting playing time with the Bucks, whose squad boasts Australian 7-footer Andrew Bogut and a number of other tall young players. "The national team and the Olympic Games are now our key considerations ... If [Yi] goes to a team where he can't compete, that would be being irresponsible to the national team," Chen said.

  18. This is like the drunk thread.... but only use it when you are bored. If you have any thoughts about anything going on in the world or just thought you would tell us your ways of killing time when bored. Post here. I used to play Tetris on Nintendo for ours, but I cannot get the Nintendo to work anymore even when I got it hooked up right.
  19. I began attending UW-Whitewater in the fall of 2001 and have yet to graduate with my degree in journalism with an emphasis in print and a minor in speech-public relations. I had a ton of odd jobs dating all the way back to my hs junior year. Junior year of HS - Cashier, ShopKo Senior year of HS - Sales, Target Freshman year at UW-Whitewater - worked as a mail clerk at the College of Education building on campus Summer freshman - student laborer for City of Racine Parks Department Sophomore year at UW-Whitewater - front desk clerk at wells residence hall and assistant sports editor of royal purple Summer sophomore - City of Racine wastewater department Junior year - front desk clerk for wells again and promoted to sports editor of royal purple. Sports correspondent for Beloit Daily News and Kenosha News. summer junior - sports editor intern for whitewater register and palmyra-eagle enterprise and wal mart demolition man for their remodeling project at whitewater store senior year - worked at group home in whitewater, sports editor for royal purple Then I had an internship in Waukegan, IL as a news reporter this past fall. And I currently still work at the group, but I transferred to Milwaukee county region and desperately want out. So yeah, I have been everywhere and anywhere in regards to jobs.
  20. The one thing I am concerned about is that Turnbow and Cordero are on pace to pitch a career high amount of games and innings this season. I just hope they can hold them both together until the end.
  21. Honestly, when was the last time Hardy hit a homer? When was the last time our offense was actually on fire and not acting like they are facing Pedro Martinez every game.
  22. Must resist... pushing... panic button. I am starting to have the annual "Oh my God, the sky is falling" moment of the season. http://www.harvsworld.com/images/panic_button.jpg
  23. Ugh! I hate the Cubs! Someone needs to slow them down. Hopefully Kendall will do it.
  24. They should give every Cubs fan an IQ test before they enter the gate at all Cubs games.
  25. This is what a Dodgers' fan said in the MLB Chat room on Yahoo messenger about the Kendall trade: The cubs traded a pitcher with cumulative minor league stats of: 0.86 ERA 9 SV 69 K 13 BB in 52.1 IP and rob bowen a servicable backup....all for the worst player in baseball.
