  1. $190 to wear a tuxedo for one night.
  2. the Bucks have been bad since about 1992. Sure they had a moment in the sun with the Big Three, but that is actually more like the meat in a crap sandwich. Come on...they were one freaking game away from the NBA Finals in 2000. That's hardly bad since 1992 and hardly meat in a crap sandwich. As far as the current situation goes, I don't think Yi ever plays for the Bucks, and that's too bad...but I don't blame the Bucks for drafting him.
  3. Travis Hafner does not belong in any discussion about the Hall of Fame.
  4. Jon Stewart doesn't seem to realize his show is not a real news show. Umm yeah.
  5. I love JFC as well. I obviously don't get everything, but the show is definitely entertaining...even if dead odd.
  6. For the record, I don't hate ESPN because they are airing these "My Wish" segments. I hate ESPN because they are full of themselves, and have watered down their niche that made them what they are to unwatchable. I didn't mean to go off on them on this thread, in fact, I just saw the words My Wish, saw that it had nothing to do with wishing that Sportscenter would cease to exist and just went on my rant because I watched Sportscenter last night for the first time in ages...sorry if I came across cold in regards to these children.
  7. I was hoping the title of this thread echoed MY wish for Sportscenter, which is to have Sportscenter go away forever. I never watch anymore, and last night I just found nothing else on and decided to watch Sportscenter and Baseball Tonight...let me just tell you, that ESPN is about dead to me. There's some new lame tournament with all sports guys involved? I wasn't watching carefully, but Stuart Scott says "find out who got snubbed!" Are you serious? And Baseball Tonight with Eric Young is like watching baseball highlights with the sound down and one of my buddies providing "analysis." That analysis of course is limited to giggling and one word responses to home runs that apparently the guys didn't know were coming because they prepared absolutely nothing for their show. Sorry for the rant, but that's my wish for Sportscenter and ESPN.
  8. Brian has improved over the course of this season. Either way, it's soooooo much nicer watching Brewer telecasts this season. I'll take Brian Anderson waiting for a ball to bounce around the bleachers for 10 seconds to finally get excited on a home run call over Daron screaming at the top of his lungs about a freaking can of corn five times a game.
  9. We turn ours in on August 1. If a keeper gets injured before the draft, the owner can change.
  10. I don't think PG is a problem with the Bucks, I just think it would be dumb for the Bucks to pass on a player just because of the position he plays...if that player is the best on the board (especially when Mo Williams can play both guard positions). Also, Mike Conley wasn't the MVP for Ohio State in some of the games...he was their MVP PERIOD, in a landslide actually. Jeff Green? I've seen that movie before. I'd love for the Bucks to get Yi, but the Chinese government won't have him land in Milwaukee.
  11. Well that doesn't make any sense at all either. You're right it doesn't make any sense if you totally dismiss the depth aspect of the team, but a poor man's Isiah-Dumars-Microwave is not something to just dismiss. If Conley is the best player available, draft him...just don't base your decision on what to do with Mo Williams on Conley.
  12. Replacing Mo Williams with Mike Conley = spinning wheels. Basically if Mike Conley can score 17 points, dish out 6 assists, and pull down 5 rebounds a game at age 24, he'd be labelled a success....why wait for Conley to get to the level Mo Williams has already risen to? That said, if you want to ADD Mike Conley to Mo Williams and Michael Redd at the guard position, that's something entirely different. I guess my point is they should definitely resign Mo Williams.
  13. Don't worry about lawn seats...that means you can move wherever you want. I was on at 10:00 and it took me a half hour.
  14. I have DirecTV, with AT&T (SBC) internet...but you do have to have a land line. When I add up all the costs it still comes out less than the Charter bundle....and I get more channels, including the NFL Network, and if I choose, I can get the NFL Ticket. And I'd be willing to bet the Big 10 Network is offered on DirecTV as well, I would also be willing to bet Charter won't have it.
  15. But the crooks at ma bell won't give you high speed without a phone. While this is true, and a land line nowadays isn't really needed, you can get one for $20 ($15.99 I think for me exactly per month)...if you still come out ahead, who cares if you have a land line?
  16. Any ideas on what to do? Cancel your service and call up DirecTV.
  17. Is anyone worried that it might sell out? I'm going to be traveling for a couple of weeks and won't be around to buy tickets when they go on sale. Should I get a friend to pick one up for me? I wouldn't take the chance. A reunion (of sorts) of a band that has only one stop in the Midwest? It'll sell out...I think the question is how fast?
  18. Instead, we can't fire him because we're still in first place. There's my vent. People are "enjoying" their first place Brewers over the past few weeks? They won't be in first place too much longer, and that's really a shame looking at the competition in the NL Central.
  19. I saw the last two Dead shows at Soldier Field, the first night sucked ass. The (what turned out to be) final show was incredible.
  20. I like them both, but I'll have to go with Soundgarden.
  21. I hate Phish. I know they can jam, and are talented, but they have about zero soul if that makes any sense. The Dead and The Allman Brothers blow Phish away.l
  22. This was a great way to leave the public wanting more and provide an opportunity to sell lots of DVD's and/or create a box office smash if they decide to go that route. Great point.
  23. KegStand, why exactly does that article tell us that the "Mystery Man" isn't Nikki Leotardo? I read the entire thing, and nowhere in it does it make any reference to the character beyond the actor's experience working on the show. Calling his role "Mystery Man" simply means Chase didn't want to let out who the character actually is, not that it's not Phil's relative. Because someone said that the same guy was featured earlier in the series?
  24. Well, that's possibly intriguing. But if I get tickets up front, is it just going to be a stupid mosh pit/shoving match thing? I would venture to guess that on the grass is where you'll see more of a mosh pit. I'm not in to all that, and have been to some hard rocking shows at Alpine (Clash of the Titans in 1990 with Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax) and I avoided the dreaded mosh pit.
  25. YES! Tool and Rage Against the Machine this summer, and my checklist of bands that I HAVE to see is done. I never thought I'd get the chance to see RATM.
