  1. Turf has come a long way. My guess is that if they switched over without telling anyone, hardly anybody would be able to tell.
  2. Latest numbers. Barrel % and Walk % are way up since my last post (may 14):

    Golf 2023

they want primetime tv golf on the east coast I guess.
  4. I'm just trying to make an apples to apples comparison. I don't think the Bush trade is one. KRod might be a better example. No, not saying what KRod and Bass did is equally bad but the timing of the thing they did compared to the timing of signing them to a contract.
  5. By all accounts, Matt Bush has been a decent person going on 8 years.
  6. If he could be slightly less than average at the plate he'd have value offensively because he can steal bases. With the new rules, he potentially could have 40+ steals in a season. But that means getting on base at better than a .300 clip I think in a perfect world, he would have started the year at AAA.
  7. In 2021, the A’s asked the City to form an infrastructure financing district for the project. Oakland’s Council, including current Mayor Sheng Thao, agreed and convinced Alameda County to consider "opting in” as well, nearly doubling the potential funding available for public infrastructure, parks and affordable housing. In 2021, the A’s asked the City to raise nearly $360 million to fund offsite infrastructure. The City rose to the challenge, raising more than $375 million in non- City funding (with another $100 million in grant applications currently pending). In 2021, the A’s asked Oakland’s City Council to certify an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project. Oakland not only did so, but successfully defended it in court – twice. https://www.oaklandca.gov/resources/waterfront-ballpark-district-at-howard-terminal-faqs
  8. FYI Jake Reetz is posting a ton of vids today on his Twitter feed.
  9. Jake Alphabet reached 100mph in the 1st.
  10. Maybe Vegas was a leverage move? I am not so sure MLB wants Vegas to have a team. The threat of Vegas getting a team can be used for new stadium deals in existing markets.
  11. He just hit a 458 foot dinger
  12. wow, nice pickup
  13. Another one en route:
  14. Yep he's 94. Born in 1928 when his dad was 75 (born in 1853). And when HE was born President Tyler was 63 years old. So if Al Pacino's kid has a kid when he's 75 and that kid (Pacino's grandkid) makes it to their 94th birthday the year will be 2192 (Happy 252nd Al Pacino!)
  15. Teheran may be all smoke and mirrors so far (and there's evidence that it might be) but if he keeps this up? What a pickup.
  16. 2nd one
  17. Here's the first one (a tall corner! Woot!):
  18. Bat signal is out again. Sounds like they got a few commits that came on official visits this weekend.
  19. Gotta pass the physical :)
