  3. He is on quite the heater. He is still on a heater.
  4. Just pretend they got Adames today instead of back in May

  6. LOL. The guy behind me in the standings has Hendriks.
  7. too many rumors....can't keep up
  8. Jon Heyman @JonHeyman 7s Phillies, Brewers among many teams checking on Ian Kennedy. Everyone in contention wants/needs relief.
  9. Jason Beck @beckjason 17s Hearing RHP Reese Olson heading back to Tigers in Daniel Norris trade
  10. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 5m The Milwaukee Brewers are finalizing a deal to acquire left-hander Daniel Norris from the Detroit Tigers, sources tell @kileymcd and me.
  11. Dodgers interested in Craig Kimbrel Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 1m The #Dodgers remain involved in the Craig Kimbrel pursuit, as I mentioned earlier today on @MLBNetwork. @MLB
  12. You're probably right but they can always rework that deal next offseason if they feel like it.
  13. The very best decision the Dodgers GM made was decide "we are going to use our resources to be the very best team at talent development". Before the Dodgers, the big markets weren't really considerably better if better at all at developing talent than plenty of small markets. I'd argue the mid-market Cardinals were probably one of the top teams at developing players up until maybe 5 years ago. The Dodgers pipeline is so insane, they can trade 2-3 top prospects every deadline and a couple more pop up the next year. And generally they are smart enough at identifying talent to keep the very best players and add them to their loaded roster(Bellinger, Seager, Smith, Lux, Buehler, Urias, May) while trading the guys they don't think will establish in the end. It's honestly a bit disheartening because as long as the pipeline keeps going, along with having more money than Bezos, there's really no reason the Dodgers shouldn't always be one of the very best teams in baseball. Great post. Baseball America wrote about this last year: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/theyre-the-model-how-the-dodgers-player-development-machine-rolls-on/ To them it's a lot more than acquiring talent. It's spending money to find that talent and then making sure they are treated like Olympic level athletes once they are part of your organization. As for recognizing talent, it looks like the Brewers may be borrowing a bit from their philosophy on offense: power comes last. "On both the pro and amateur sides, through both traditional scouting and analytics-based methods, the Dodgers aggressively seek athletic, versatile players who hit for average and have strong plate discipline, believing they can teach those players to add power with swing tweaks if the contact skills and at-bat quality are already present."

    The Olympics

I didn’t get a ‘slam dunk’ feel after her last floor routine, but I only watch women’s gymnastics once every 4 years, so I’m hardly an expert. I’m very happy for her, though. It was a solid performance with a gold medal on the line. So cool for the Hmong community.
  15. You can still hate Baez
  16. He's had a very, very, very good, stellar, awesome two weeks (467/515/833!/1.348). He's raised his OPS over 100 points in that time. I love the kid but I want to see how he's doing at the end of August before declaring him a potential star.
  17. Enter Sandro. Looks like a decent all around offensive game - can pass, get to the line, shoot the three (doesn't make a lot of them but he shoots them). Wonder how he is on D?
  18. Brogdon, Michael Redd.... just accumulate a bunch of cheap 2nd rounders and hope you get lucky with one of them. Not a bad way to go when you are up against the cap.
  19. they got four picks for the 31st pick I think they did pretty well
  20. I regret not purchasing a "Yosted" t-shirt back in the day. I saw a guy hawking UPS inspired "What Can Braun Do For You?" shirts outside one of the Bluemound bars. He was not doing well.
