14 IP, 29K's, 6 BB I could watch him throw changeups all day long (which look kind of like a screwball to me) https://www.mlb.com/news/devin-williams-thrives-in-setup-role-in-brewers-win Williams developed his changeup as a kid in St. Louis when he tried to make friends miss while playing catch, just to mess with them. The pitch feels so unnatural, Suter said, as to be nearly impossible to replicate. And yet, Williams has executed it again and again -- 122 times this season, according to Statcast -- and has yet to give up a hit on the pitch. Including four of the six batters Williams faced Monday, he has ended 33 plate appearances with a changeup. Opponents are 0-for-31 with 21 strikeouts in those instances. -
He's ROY eligible isn't he? I doubt a non closer reliever would win but he should get some votes

Who let the Pirates fan in here?
-
Rasmussen doing a nice Ray Black impersonation right now.
-
Right? that's like having 11 mild wings and the 12th one is ghost pepper thermonuclear hot

I posted that before I knew what happened.

Someone in the Phelps trade thread was upset because we're wasting a year of Yelich's prime. I think he's wasting it pretty well by himself.

2nd quarter...not so much
-
Well that was about as good a 1st quarter as you could hope for.

I think Stearns finds the low level guys under valued. If you can scout right, you can get guys before they explode and their value jumps out of reach.

Kevin Mench!

So is Williams better than Hader now?
-
WIsh Giannis could stay out of foul trouble. Bring on the Heat.
-
I would do that just for fun.

Get those colonoscopies guys. It's never too soon.
-
Only 43. Colon cancer. Wow.

At least the Cards were swept by Pittsburgh.

Could be worse. The Reds are paying Moustakas $12M for 0.0 WAR... ... and Votto $25M for -0.8 bWAR. That Votto deal makes me laugh every time we play the Reds.

He has crazy stuff. I wish he could harness it.

I am one beer and one old fashioned into the evening. I like our odds.

I missed you yesterday.

The University of Arizona’s wastewater testing system alerted university officials to COVID-19 cases in an on-campus dorm this week. On Tuesday, the wastewater testing system at Likins Hall alerted the university that students or staff in the dorm may be positive for COVID-19. UA President Robert Robbins said during his weekly briefing that a team immediately went to the dorm and tested every resident and staff member. "We did test — I think there are 311 individuals in that dorm — and we did the antigen test, we did them all [Wednesday] and found two positive cases,” Robbins explained. Two asymptomatic students tested positive for the virus and were immediately sent to the quarantine dorm. “We in fact found cases that no one would have known about and now we’re contact tracing all of their contacts to find out how many other students may be positive and asymptomatic,” said Robbins. https://news.azpm.org/p/coronavirus/2020/8/27/179250-ua-wastewater-testing-finds-covid-19-cases-in-dorm/
