  1. In what world is it acceptable for a parent to let a little kid watch a movie on a plane without the use of headphones?
  2. He had three really bad outings in Colorado too which skewed his away numbers.
  3. Or could be that payroll deduction is just what happens when you gain guys with extra years of control.
  4. My only hesitation wit Urias is that he's done most of his damage in very hitter friendly environments (El Paso and a stint in the Cal League). Granted he was still super young for his level so that might even it out a bit
  5. To reiterate my earlier point, it's November 21st.
  6. Well that's about as good as UW can shoot in a half. Wisconsin missed a grand total of 13 shots in the first half...that includes free throws. They were 24/37 on all attempts.
  7. What the Brewers say and what they do can be two different things. They can SAY they were priced out of the Grandal derby but in reality that might just be talk. It could very well be they simply didn't want to give a three or four-year deal to a 31-year-old catcher. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he never hits as well as he did last year.
  8. Potter denied his final appeal. Won't appear in a game until Dec 21.
  9. Rumor that Sox are going after Zack Wheeler too.
  10. I would absolutely take a flier on Bird and stick him at AAA.
  11. I'm not opposed to them trying to further connect their franchise to the fanbase. I just think they were finding that connection in places where there was none. Specifically...The change to the ball in the new BiG logo is being sold as a three panel ball that represents the fans, the city and the state. It's just a more realistic baseball. I could draw a stick figure and say it represented my hunger for a grilled cheese sandwich, but nobody would think that by looking at it. Same as the three panel ball. It doesn't represent something if only they say it does. Same with the M and B being connected in that logo at the top of the glove webbing. That line that now connects the two letters is supposed to represent a connection between the fans and the team. It's just a glove design that they liked better than the original. Again, nobody sees that glove webbing and reaches the conclusion that the Brewers are trying to make. It's like if a stoner were studying the back of his hand and thought he found the meaning of life. That's the cheeseball stuff that is eyerolling. The jerseys and logos are fine. Probably something for everybody. Occasionally I have to logo design for my company and you should hear the stuff I come up with in order to "sell" an idea. I just want stuff to look cool and convey a message. It's the marketers that add the nonsense descriptors.
  12. I would still look into it. Getting a rate quote doesn't ding your credit score and very often you can get the same loan length with a lower interest rate.
  13. I agree. I feel like 90% of the run game issues are because the tackles get shoved inside and the OLBs get kicked out and Martinez is too slow to fill the gap. I'd be curious to know if that hunch is correct.
  14. The only one I don't really care for is the road navy.
  15. Sorry, but that doesn't check out. Interest rates are at historic lows, and have been for some time. I think nodakfan is saying that they can charge higher interest rates on the loans they provide therefore they are ok lending to people who wouldn't have qualified back in the day.
  16. I didn't like the pick and wished they had traded down but I'm not gonna call him a bust yet. If we're having the same discussion next year? I'll think about it.
  17. I actually disagree heavily with this. Look at the teams they've faced. Name one besides the Ravens that has a remotely scary offense? 6 of their opponents(7 games, jets twice) are in the bottom 10 teams in yards/game...the 2 others besides Baltimore are 11th and 13th from the bottom. Looking at their schedule, I literally couldn't have devised an easier schedule up until the last 2 weeks. It was cupcake after cupcake. To their credit, they still did destroy those cupcake teams for the most part...but nothing about their team is elite, not even the defense. I was telling a buddy before the Baltimore game...every one of their next 5 opponents are basically tossups. Could go either way, and the Patriots are not definitively better than any of them. They've given up more than 14 points exactly once this year. I don't care what your schedule is that's really really good. Yeah that would be different if they played a tougher schedule but it's not like they'd be giving up 30 points a game if they played the same schedule the packers did. They could certainly "not elite" themselves to a 15 - 1 record and home field for the duration of the playoffs.
  18. In regard to stock prices -- I don't recall when Disney Plus was announced. July 3, NFLX was at 379.93 a share. Now, it is at 289.18. I bought Netflix at $10 and sold at $15 back in like 2004. I'm smart.
  19. Patriots defense this year is really good. I don't know if its the best one they've had under Belichick but it very well could be.
  20. Baltimore's offense seems to have caught up to its defense. The last four weeks they've beaten Seattle on the road (by two scores), New England, and then Cincy and Houston by a combined score of 90 - 20.
